Excellent 3 night stay”
Excellent guest house & staff. Very friendly and helpful staff met us at the boat landing with a sign on arrival. Vita & Nan where so nice. Excellent location and value for the money. Located near the end of the street away from the boat landing making it very peaceful and quiet. Greatly appreciated the fresh made breakfast every morning. Would definitely stay here again.

Would not stay here again”
Way over priced. We paid equivalent to 300k kip booking through agoda vs 100k kip if we walked in. All the rest of the guesthouses in Muang Ngoi were priced at about 70-100k kip. The washroom was disgusting with mold everywhere and the sink pipe was leaking on the floor non stop. The bed sheets looked like they haven't been washed as there were dead bugs all over. It was difficult to sleep at night because we kept feeling itchy. Not sure if it was because of the dirty sheets. Finally we did 2 bags of laundry where they charged us at 5kg (50k kip). But there was no way the clothes weighed that much. In addition it seemed like they just rinsed the clothes in water as the clothes smelled the same as before they went for wash.

Where not to stay”
Accom sheets were dirty and there were bugs crawling around inside. It was also expensive compared to other places. Other places better.

Disappointing”
Location, breakfast
Unfortunately the guesthouse was undergoing complete renovations (february 2014) and the garden was a building site filled with piles of building materials. The accommodation was a rather basic cabin with a shabby and poorly equipped shower room. There was a balcony where breakfast was brought. There were several good but basic restaurants in the village. The owners daughter was very friendly and welcoming. Disappointing.

Delightful small 5 room bungalow place overlooking”
Clean, view, staff
A delightful place to stay at the end of the main street in beautiful little Muang Ngoi. Staff , mainly mother & daughter, have good english and can't help enough. Breakfast (many choices) ordered night before & brought to your balcony to enjoy overlooking river at nominated time of a morning. I stayed 3 nights & would highly recommend.

The best that there is”
View, Price, Cleanliness
We arrived by boat in the pouring rain and the host met us at the boat landing with an umbrella. The view was breathtaking, the staff very friendly, breakfast served on your own balcony and a delicious Indian restaurant opposite PS. It should be brought to the attention of customers not to get confused with the two "Sunset Guesthouses" One is in Nong Khiaw but the Lerdkkeo Sunset Guesthouse is in Muang Ngoi - one hour boat ride from Nong Khiaw - but an hour well spent.

Great riverfront views, very friendly service”
Nice new guesthouse - best digs in Muang Ngoy
lerdkeo has only been open since late 2012 and offers the best accomodation in muang ngoy, with 5 concrete bungalows with individual river-view balconies. comfortable beds with mosquito nets provided. bathroom is everything you need. the agoda rate includes breakfast - there is no restaurant, just let the owners know what you want and it will be served to you on your balcony. awesome! if you like to sleep late and want your room cleaned, just ask - as cleaning generally gets done at around 8:30am as people leave heading for the 9:30 boat out of town! the owners are very friendly!
