Great place to for couples or solo travelers”
I'd love to come back here if I'd travel solo and need a quiet place to sit around, doing my share of reading and watching the plants and animals. Here's my opinion: - Great collection of tropical trees and plants. I love the lotus ponds the most - they bloom like heaven. There are trees bearing fruits too, like mango trees and orange trees. Cute! - Lovely animals (swans, turkeys, ducks, peacocks). Now that I said it, they're all birds. They roam around the place and look happy. - A library!! (+++) Family-size library of English, Vietnamese and French literature. There are books in some other languages as well, if I remember correctly. I saw Oscar Wilde, so I'll rate this library 5 stars. - Lovely Vietnamese architecture. Nice and clean rooms. Outside there's an antiquated single-bamboo bridge, which is very cool. - Location: There's not much to do in the vicinity. This place is best for you to stay in, not go out. There are nice paddy fields outside where you can see gorgeous sunset, cute water buffalos and if you're lucky, people herding 2100 ducks at twilight. But that's about it, nowhere else to go as far as I know. - Service: Very nice and helpful staff. Good communication and offered to let me check-out late. Restaurant serves decent food. Can't ask for more. In a word, I'd come back here if I want to spend some quiet time on my own in Vietnam. It has enough Vietnamese vibes, not flashy nor tacky.

Our little simple weekend gateway ”
We love going to this hotel over the weekend. Our son enjoyed this place since he was 1month old. Green, cosy, lovely owners. The food reminds me my mum’s dishes. If you’re looking for a simple but lovely weekend gateway close to HCMC, go ahead !

Great escape from the city”
Perfect spot for a weekend out of HCMC without leaving HCMC. The rooms are basic but clean, the grounds are lovely and the food is simple but also good. 1.5hrs from the centre of HCMC and still within the city limits. Pet friendly too. We will be back.

Amazing place on the edge of HCMC”
Perfect for a weekend away from the city centre. The rooms are very basic but clean. The staff and owners are all lovely, the food is great. A combo of French and vietnamese food and they really care about the quality. Facilties are also good with a decent sized pool and lovely grounds. This place also doubles as a retirement home which adds to the character. Not the place for wild parties but perfect if you're looking to get away from the city. This was second stay and I will be back.

Good relax please”
We went there with friends and had a good time. Walked around also see the peacocks and baby turkeys. By the way need to book meal advance as buffer adults 250k and kids 120k. We think it’s not really worth money for kids as they are not eat much! They properly eat about 30k!!!

Relaxing with super helpful owners”
We had a wonderful few days here and felt a million miles away from the city. Lovely grounds with enough to entertain the children and nice meals onsite. The owners couldn't have been more helpful. 5*

Wonderfully Unique ”
A quite extraordinary place! It's unlikely you'll leave the hotel to eat locally so it is lucky that the food is great - There isn't a wide choice but all meals I had hit the spot and filled me up until the next one. Very relaxing - Just what I was looking for. I visited midweek.

A fun interesting place. ”
Accommodation not fancy but functional and clean. Beautiful grounds with lots of plants, animals and birds. Nice places to relax and fish. A pond for fishing and a decent clean pool for swimming. Also children’s playground and other areas for sports. Friendly accommodating staff and fantastic buffet French Vietnamese cuisine. Some French resident seniors live there year round and seasonally.

Not really happy”
The room were really basic, the shower is bad, no hot water They dont have snack bar in the room, no watere boiler, and the hotel are close at around 11pm. It was located in a middle of nowhere so that if you are hungry at night time, there is nothing for you to eat. The staff are very nice,.

Old facilities, limited services”
The room is very old and hot because the air con didn’t work well. No staffs around so can not get the services if required (no phone in room), only few security staffs. Nothing to eat at the restaurant excepting pre-booked lunch or dinner buffet.

Acceptable”
This hotel may well be good However if you speak English and arrive to no representative to speak or understand. You feel unease about being so remote and no access to services or help if needed. I will just say the resort is extremely remote with no English speaking assistance for food or medical or resources. I paid but never stayed once we arrived and had no staff on hand for assistance other than security to show us to the room.

Scam with banking”
This resort will continue to charge you months later. Even if you paid accurately before.

A beautiful break at Les Hameaux del'Orient”
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, the surroundings are absolutely beautiful and it is a great escape from the hustle and bustle and heat of the city. We came to Les Hameaux de l'Orient to relax and wind down and this is the perfect place for just that. The owners are extremely hospitable and make sure you are well looked after. We spent most of our days relaxing by the pool, which was great, and eating great food. Bicycles and motorbikes are also available for day excursions. We found this place to be everything we needed and would definitely recommend it.

Classic pool and resort”
Les Hameaux de L'orient Residence is a very peaceful place to stay. It is well off into the country side. The food was very good. It has lovely gardens and a classic large swimming pool for laps or family play. The staff is very helpful. The rooms are older, but clean and well kept. They loan bicycles so you can go into town for snacks and lunch.

My new second home - Love this place!!”
I chose this hotel after many hours of research, and in my opinion, it is the ONLY place to stay if you are either; visiting the Cu Chi tunnels; wanting a great starting point for your Vietnamese adventure; looking for some R&R in a paradise location outside of the city; hoping for a quiet, romantic, laid-back resort in HCM. Transfers from the airport were arranged by the hotel, a very friendly taxi driver Hai was waiting for me and for 30 USD each way, he got me safely through the crazy roads of Saigon without incident. He speaks almost no English, but that's what Google Translate is for right? I recommend you download the Vietnamese language pack before you arrive in Vietnam. I agree with the review by Kai that when you first arrive off the plane from the UK late at night, the remote location of the hotel, and the handing over of your passport at the gates is a bit daunting, however after this initial concern, we felt entirely safe and secure for the remainder of our stay, (you get your passport back when you check out). After being shown to our room, a large spacious and clean room, with 2 queen size beds, we wandered over to the restaurant building, sports was being shown on the projector and there we found some other guests and the incredibly friendly and accommodating resort Manager, Thierry. After a few beers, we called it a night and slept soundly. The next day we awoke to what can only be described as paradise! This resort is beautiful, picture postcode views at every turn! We enjoyed a lovely breakfast every day, followed by a meander around the beautiful and mature gardens, taking photos, swimming in the lovely L shaped pool and soaking up the relaxing atmosphere. Lunch and evening meals can be ordered every day at reasonable prices, the food is plentiful and all delicious, a generous serving of fruit with every meal (Watermelons, Papaya, Bananas and Lychee mostly). Whilst the menu is decided for you, it changes every day, so we tried various Vietnam

Peace and Quiet”
If you want to experience resort exclusivity and old country ambience apart from the hustle and bustle of Ho Chi Minh city, this is the best place to be. Very well kept and awesome old world ambience kind of resort. Lush scenery and you will literally eat the vegetation in your well served full course meals. The Owners and Staff are so accomodating/hospitable. They let us stay in the pool as late as 11pm and the owner, Mr Marcel even offered his motorbike so that we can see Cu Chi countryside and the Tunnels. Definitely an unforgetable stay.

A home away from home”
We were looking for a place to spend the weekend away from HCMC and came across Les Hameaux de L’Orient. Located apprx 1.30hour drive from the city, Les Hameaux offers the perfect environment we needed. Imagine Southern France country house with friendly Vietnamese hospitality. The resort is quiet, full of charm, and very well maintained. The swimming pool is the crown jewel of the place. Equipped with European filter technology, the pool virtually has no chloroform. We spent the bulk of our Sunday morning baking in the sun, lying in and around the pool. Breakfast was served next to the pool under the shade of the trees. We had hu tiu (rice vermicelli with broth and pork) and toasts, bacon and eggs. In case you’re still hungry, there’s banh mi with jam and butter always ready. The cottages are simple but well equipped with all basic amenities. NO MOSQUITOES! which was a nice surprise given the place being in the countryside. The owners are a retired Vietnamese couple who came back from France after having lived there for over 40 years. They speak French, Vietnamese and some English. We were treated like family. They were particularly meticulous when it comes to serving us. For instance, they made sure that the passion fruit juice was served chilled not watered down with ice, that banh mys were hot and crunchy and soup comes with the right amount of garlic. We were even offered cakes and candies after desserts. We will come back for sure.
