Great stay”

This hotel is really nice if you are always out and doing tours/adventure and then come back in the evening to rest and sleep. Our room is a small one with private toilet and bathroom. We had a small TV, 1 single bed and bunk bed. Room is quiet, however in the morning, you can hear people walking in the hall. Thank goodness, they are not that noisy!

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights, which is the maximum stay as well. The staffs are friendly, and the facilities are simple but it is enough for me. They have a 500M of wifi traffic limits per day, and the breakfast was not included but it was okay.

Atmosphere, staff, sitting lounges

Great-the hotel has character with its old lifts, spacious sitting rooms and wonderful antique furniture but it's definitely not run down or aged. Everything works well and the staff were always helpful. The only dinner I had there was great- fresh salad and delicious fish. I will be back twice more during my stay in NZ and am looking forward to it.

quirky hotel in central area”

Very handy to walk to town centre, restaurants and station. We really liked it’s uneven floors, interesting decor and fascinating history. We stayed in a large suite with plenty of room to spread out. There were some drawbacks however. The room was very noisy as it faced state highway 1. There were quite a few maintenance issues such as LED down lights that flashed on and off, power sockets falling out of the wall and no way if putting the security chain on the door. In spite of these issues, the place has character and we really liked it.
