WRONG INFORMATION ”
The area is good , the room was good too but actually when I had looked in website all was good but there were no staff and it was not maintained well , the wifi is very weak in the room and 10 pm guests can’t go out , so what will be the guest doing after 10 pm with a weak wifi ? , I don’t say the hotel was bad , it’s neat and nice , I have no complaints for a night stay but it wasn’t the best experiences though
A pleasant hotel with a great location”
The location of this hotel is great. Right near the lighthouse and all the attractions that the beautiful city of galle have to offer including historic buildings, good restaurants and even a swimming beach
Nice guest house on one of the cozy streets. ”
The hotel is more of a gust house. It is nice and clean and is located on one of Galle's cozy narrow streets close to the light house. The staff is very service mineded and helpful. The room we stayed in was small but cheap. There is a free WiFi in the hotell withe a reasonable speed, although the coverage barely make it to the room. There is also a nice balcony over the Lebyana street, for the afternoon beer.
Nice spot and good value.”
I enjoyed my time in Galle. The hotel is deep in the heart of the old fort and is basic but clean and tidy. I really enjoyed spending time talking cricket and drinking tea with the owners who run the gem store in the reception area. I am still waiting for the price on making my KIWI cuff links!!
The villa is located in the heart of the fort and within walking distance of everything in the fort. The room itself is nicely decorated and clean. The only downside is that the room is really hot and stuffy and the air-cond, though at full blast the whole day, barely removes the oppressive heat and stuffiness of the room. Otherwise, a very nice place to stay.
Great location, friendly staff”
Hotel has great location in the fort. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was pretty clean, and bed was comfortable. Hotel has small balcony area that is very pleasant. Hotel is very close to restaurants and other sites. I noticed a few insects in my room and one of the pieces of furniture was broken, but these were not that big of a problem. They were so minor that I did not even mention it to the staff, and if I would have informed the staff, I am confident they would have addressed.
Fantastic budget room in the heart of the fort.”
Great value room no air con but that was known at booking. Great staff very friendly. Fabulous location, we walked to galle cricket ground. There are a few really nice places to eat just on the doorstep, we highly recommend Crepe-ology.
i had booked in to this hotel which are guest rooms in back of a jewelry shop but they moved me down the street to the fort fifty which are guest rooms up back of a restaurant. this place was great. rooms were good and clean and came with a mosi net. food was good and the staff were incredibly nice and helpful. the location is ideal. incredible value at night.
Great budget option with everything you need”
This place has friendly management, it has great central location and is the most budget friendly option we found in town. All the amenities you need like hot water and wifi, we even got free water. Only negative comments are that the rooms are little dark and the floors could be scrubbed more, otherwise everything else was really clean. There were lots of Mosquitos in the lobby but they have screens on the windows and very good mosquito net over the bed, so there was no problem. You can even get a fish pedicure in the lobby or buy jewellery, the front of the hotel is a jewellery store.
Nice hotel, very nice part of town!”
this is my second time here! overall (tax's included), i am paying about usd per night for a non-ac room. that is not a bad price for the location. there is some picture perfect scenery around here and the beaches are crystal clear. the room is nice, modest but this is good as there is not a slew of un-necessities that one is charged heavily for. just a room in which the bed fills most of and a bathroom with a hanging shower. there are mosquito's and the net doesn't filter them all so be warned - furthermore there are no blankets! bug spray, don't leave home without it! also, there is only 1 plug in my room (the room is for 2) so beware! there is a plug socket on the second floor balcony though.
Average hotel on a learning curve”
This hotel or prehaps guest house is in a lovely street very close to the lighthouse in the south eastern corner of the old Galle fort. There is a nice swimming beach just below the lighthouse and the snorkelling there is also good.the staff are friendly and helpful but they are also new to this work and need guidance from their guests, rooms vary, some are big
Great spot in the fort and clean place”
Fantastic location near the lighthouse in the fort. The hotel has a jewellery shop in front, a little gift shop and a fish spa inside! The room was fine, nothing special but nothing wrong with it either. The hotel did shut for 2 hours (couldn't get in or out) during afternoon prayer time which was a little annoying but apart from that the service was very good and the people that work there were really friendly. Highly recommended place for the price.
Lovely hotel, very peaceful. ”
This guest house was warm a friendly and surprisingly peaceful being in the centre of Colombo. It was a little difficult for our taxi to find as it is tucked away in a side street, but the owner was great and directed our driver over the phone. The hotel has a charitable element too, during e day there are blind masseuses so you can do something good fo the Sri Lankan community and get a good massage at the same time.
Great location & service, rooms big enough to sleep”
Good value for money and assistance was great. Its probably more of a hotel for those that a more likely to be out and about, and not wanting to relax in the hotel. Its above a jewellers (though I was never once pushed to buy anything), so be sure to contact them if you are arriving before 7am or after 10pm as you mightnt get in! Theres only maybe 3 rooms, so I liked that it wasnt 'busy'. It does have couches and tables and the balcony, but the front room that I was in was really only big enough for the giant bed and my bag! So i relaxed on the balcony most of the time.
quaint little hotel with delicious food”
Our driver had trouble finding the hotel, so i would recommend taking the address or a map with you. The staff were so friendly. We asked if they could make us a traditional breakfast rather than the continental breakfast they usually serve. The curry they served us was possibly the best breakfast we had in our entire Sri Lanka stay. On the down side, the room was a little small.
Good rooms, friendly staff”
We were only able to stay here for one night as it was booked up. However, the hotel itself is well located within the fort and close to restaurants, boutique shops etc. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were sizeable and clean. An excellent find for such a good price.
lovely guesthouse with a great family.”
We arrived unexpectedly at 6am and the family woke up (with a smile) and let us in, we thought we'd leave our bags then come back at check in time but they checked us in then and let us stay. We were so thankful. We stayed 2 nights, our first 2 in sri lanka and were left with a great first impression because of this guesthouse. The room was clean and cosy, breakfast always felt like such a treat and the family were always there for a chat ans gave us so much advice for the rest of our 6 week trip round sri lanka. We highly recommend this guesthouse.
Nice place with strong walls”
I stayed two nights in Galle Fort and the Leynbaan Villa is a lovely place to be. My room was clean and with AC. But unfortunately there were no windows to the building's outside. The service was good and the meals (i had breakfast and dinner) were excellent. The Leynbaan Villa is placed near to the Fort wall in the south, so it takes only 1 min two have an awesome sunset on the wall.
Great place, clean and tidy, very friendly staff, perfect location and superb value for money. Well done!
