Lili House Ubud
The room was spacious and clean. Bed was comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. It is located a little off the main road so it's peaceful and quiet all the time. The walls had a bit of cracked paint and one of the lightbulb was broken but for the price charged, it's a steal.
The staff working there everyday was the sweetest! But the management was poor, my first night was at a different hotel and so it was a bit of a hassle.... I wanted to talk to the manager because I wanted to extend my stay when it was clearly available on agoda (agoda staff tried to help me by calling them too) but there was no response through the phone or on sight...
Reached Ubud at midnight only to know they double book my room hence i cannot stay at their place. They sent me to some other hotel for that night. The next day, I returned back to Lily house for check in and they upgraded my room. I guess to make up for the trouble they gave me. That's a good gesture from them Staff was really helpful Will stay here again if I'm going to Ubud
When I arrived at Lili House Ubud, I was told that they are over booked and there is no room for me to stay. They called a manager and he told me that they have another hotel close by and I can stay there, the other hotel was called Nyoman Karsa Bungalows. Since I was already in the area, and I didn't want to waste time to search for another place to stay. I decide to take the place.. Man was it a big mistake, no phone, no safe, the bed felt like there were bed bugs.. After the fist night I decided to cut my losses and decide to leave. Sorry but this was the worse place I stayed and I will never come back to these 2 hotels ever again..
Great location for food lovers”
The location is really great! Staff is very friendly and accommodating. They replace the sheets and clean the room daily. They serve breakfast on time. Will recommend it to my friends and will also come back in the future. Ubud is a good haven for vegans. Just stroll around and you'll see so many restaurants serving vegan food and vegan icecream. There's even a vegan buffet just walking distance from the hotel.
It is dependent on the room you book. We had the delux with pool vieuw. That was nothing special, and the bathroom was outdated. It was obvious that is had been used many times before. We had the suite once, due to overbooking. That was very nice! I would like to get the suite again, but would not go back for the other room.
Clean clean and private”
Very clean room and area. A little off the main road so it gives a quiet and private environment. Staff are very polite. Bathroom is very nice and comfortable bed. The pool is great and super clean. I was impressed. It is what you see on the website. Would've paid less as there are a lot of other choices around but I definitely recommend. The only con is that you can hear them cleaning the room upstairs or talk. Walls are a little thin but not annoying as the staff try their best to make it less noisy. Sleep well and lots of things close around. Thanks!
Best $20 Spent”
The bed was super comfortable firm and big. Private balcony overlooking pool. Very quiet set 300 metres of the main road. Breakfast at your own balcony. Don’t personally like kitchens in hotel rooms but it had no plates cups or cutlery so what’s the point.
False advertising not the hotel I booked ”
I was told for the second time in 2 months booking with Lily house on arrival that all the rooms are fully booked! They transferred me to a noisier location 2 kilometres away from where I wanted to be!!!! If you want what you pay for go elsewhere. This Is false business advertising under lily house that have really good reviews and I know that the area is better because I stayed at a hotel next door. But not these other shabby hotels don't do it lol
The staffs are friendly, the pool is nice and the location is good. Unfortunately, their management is really bad and awful. I booked a room on November 17th 2018 for January 2nd 2019, when I showed up at the hotel, they said that all rooms are occupied and they would show an alternative room in another hotel for me. They also said if I don't like the alternative, they asked me to cancel the booking and find other hotel. We were furious, because we already booked a room since November. After a long phone call with the manager, who can't be around to handle this issue, finally they gave us a room. However, the room was old (the bathroom window is broken) and the water was not clean (we found dirt after filling up the water on bathtub). We stayed before on this hotel and it was a nice experience, however the latest experience ruins the hotel reputation for us. We would not want to stay again, unless they improve the management.
Didn’t even get to stay here”
I had booked a room months in advance and arrived after a long day of traveling to only get told they were over booked and couldn’t stay there. Guy at the reception barely spoke English and couldnt explain why, only told us we needed to go somewhere else. He called his manager who said he would come meet us. The manager never came but sent another guy who took my fiancé and I to another place. A little sad about this because my friend had recommended this place. Luckily the place they took us to was nice as well but it was very annoying having to deal with this upon arrival.
Exceptional place, questionable staff?”
We stayed at Lili House for 8 nights, so we really got to know the grounds, area and staff. 100% from the perspective of facilities and breakfast every morning, however the staffing could be much better. Let’s start with the morning arrival of breakfast. For 8 days in a row we had chose an arrival time, however the staff would bring breakfast anywhere from 15-30minutes early and wake us up with a bang on the door... When they cleaned the room, they wouldn’t take the trash, which resulted with us placing it out on the porch so they would understand it needs to go. They would also take our towels everyday and not replace them. Everyday we would have to ask for towels, and on multiple occasions were told they don’t have them yet, sometimes waiting over 2 hours to get towels. Why does a hotel have a shortage of towels all the time? Compounding these problems, the staff have very limited English. Overall, the problems are worth the trouble and savings compared to hotels in the area. When we return to Ubud, we will probably stay here again.
Great little stay in Ubud with only 7 rooms.Comfortable spacious deluxe room for a very reasonable price. Lovely staff. Short wa,k to Yoga barn. Close to shops and restaurants. This was our third stay here
Amazing stay right near Yoga Barn”
I traveled to Ubud to practice yoga everyday and relax. This hotel was clean, quiet and well run. The breakfast was great and served on my balcony each morning. The room was large, comfortable and clean. Great please! Would stay there again
Best deal in Ubud”
I will definitely stay at Lili House again when I return to Ubud. From the first moment I arrived (at 2am!), Wayan greeted me like family and took care of my every need. Seriously, I got an allergic rash on my legs and one of the girls helped put calamine lotion on them! They bend over backwards to help you. My room was nice and big with a comfy bed and beautiful porch with sofa where they serve you breakfast. You can choose things like banana or pineapple pancakes (crepes, actually) or omelettes with fresh juice (I liked the watermelon--so good!), which you order the night before. The location is right near the Monkey Forest (if you're into that sort of thing) and a five minute walk from Yoga Barn, which is fantastic. Also, make sure to try Taco Casa across the street--fantastic steak tacos. There are so many great restaurants and lots of shopping, especially for really nice yoga clothing. A bit far from Ubud Market, but there's so much shopping nearby I wasn't worried, and you can always take a short taxi ride to the market. Lili House is very well-kept and a little off the road (100meters) which is actually good because it's quieter. Saw a few geckos in the room, but hey--you're gonna get that anywhere in Ubud. It's the jungle! Definitely a value for the money.
Good in general, staff just need to speak better english”
The room is nice and spacious, the surrounding is peaceful and pretty. However the staff made me disappointed at some points. when I was asking questions to 3 staffs, their english were very bad, they can barely understand me, and that is very time wasting. that is an improvement points. other than that things are good.
This was our third visit to Lili House. The previous visits were great in the deluxe room We booked a few months ago only to find our room was not available. We booked the deluxe pool view room, first offered a room at the rear of the complex but settled with standard room for 2 nights,, which was very basic, then to the deluxe for the remaining nights. The inexperienced staff were very confused and only rang the manager at our insistence. It is disappointing to find that your room has been double booked and have read other reviews with the same issue so won't be returning. A bit of a risk not knowing what room you'll end up in
This hotel will not refund even in case of volcanic eruption and its aftermath on pretext that the airport reopens after 12 hours of closure. The hotel does not answer telephone calls AT ALL. AVOID BOOKING THIS HOTEL AS IT DEDUCTS PAYMENT IMMEDATELY AFTER BOOKING WITH NO REFUND POLICY AND IT WILL NOT REFUND IN ANY CIRCUMSTANCE.
When I checked in at 2am, I found my room which I had booked and paid to was double booked.
Place was kept clean. Location is so near to ubud art market, groceries, and restaurants. Staff is friendly and accommodating.
