Paradise”
The location of the hotel on the best beach on Koh Samet together with great staff and very good restaurant made this a wonderful visit. We stayed in a beachfront room which in my opinion is the best choise there although a bit pricy maybe (but not compared to the other two hotels on the same beach). Every night, the restaurant was moved to the beach which was very appreciated and romantic. The beach is very nice and the water is calm. We also stayed on the east coast of Koh Samet and there was bigger waves and not as child friendly as Ao Prao beach. The hotel has a familiar feel of it. The only downside is if you reserve a room category that is "far" from the beach, then there are some stairs to climb. We will definitely come back to Lima Coco!
great spot on the west coast of koh samet”
lima coco is the white-painted middle one of the three or four resorts that dot ao phrao, the only readily-accessible beach on the west coast of koh samet. we enjoyed our stay a great deal, in fact staying several days longer than we originally intended. although it is technically a national park, koh samet is far from pristine, so you will see some trash even on this relatively remote beach. but it doesn't interfere too much with the chilled-out ambience. only other disadvantage is that you're 4 kilometers from any independent businesses like convenience stores or restaurants, so you may want to stock up on essentials before you arrive. while we were there, pretty extensive renovations were underway. emblematic of the care and consideration this place receives. overall, highly recommended.
4-Star, Indeed!”
Stayed there for 2 nights. We enjoyed our stay especially my son.He loves the pool. It's clean though you cannot avoid bitten by a mosquito during the evening. The hotel gives you a repellent when you want to sit, dine and enjoy the breeze in the evening. Staffs are mostly Cambodians, very nice and patient. We'll be back next time and perhaps stay for 3-4 days. Prao Bay has a great beach in Koh Samet and you can save a lot at Lima Coco compared to other beaches there but to be honest, I just wonder why beaches in Koh Samet are a lot more expensive compared to beaches in Koh Chang.
The staff makes the difference”
Lima Coco Resort is a small property sandwiched between two much bigger resorts. But to be quite honest you are getting 85% of the experience for 50% of the cost. The rooms are acceptable and Lima Coco's facilities are nice, however it is the staff that really makes the stay worthwhile. They really treat you like family. The beach is the other great thing about staying here. It's quieter than other beaches and has less wave action due to it's shape. There is good snorkeling along the edges of the bay. A few things to know that some might consider negatives (however they are shared by all resorts)... There are a lot of mosquitoes and many get into the rooms. The toilets can't handle toilet paper. The swimming pool is very small. Non-hotel guests come to this beach during the day and make it more crowded. Except for the three resorts on this beach, nothing is accessible by foot. You need to take an expensive taxi or rent a scooter to reach shops or restaurants. I would recommend Lima Coco as a relaxing place to spend a few days if you don't mind renting a scooter to get into town.
Nice stay at Lima Coco, Koh Samet”
Stayed at Lima Coco with my friends, The rooms are very basic, but the location of the resort is fantastic. A small, quiet, very beautiful beach (Ao Prao Beach) on the west side of Koh Samet (most other hotels are on the east side of the island). The staff was really nice (especially Khun Oh at the reception). The food at the restaurant was excellent, but a little bit pricy. The rooms are up on a hill, so you have to climb some stairs to get to your room. That was a bit difficult for us since we have a baby in a stroller. There is a beautiful boardwalk close to the sea (easy to walk with a stroller). No pool at teh hotel. It was a relaxed and friendly feeling at Lima Coco with a mix of guests from many different countries. I would definitly stay at Lima Coco again!
Pleasant resort on quiet beach”
Lima Coco is on Ao Prao, the quietest of the Ko Samet beaches I visited. The location feels isolated from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the island - the road is a dead-end and so there is no noisy through-traffic. We found the beach to be inviting, calm and peaceful. We booked a "Deluxe Seaview with breakfast". The room is freshly painted and well-kept. It's a small room, so the seating area at the window was useful to help organise our gear. The view of the sea competes with mature trees, so don't expect panoramic views of the sea. The garden environment, however, is lovely and attracts a variety of birds. The bed is firm and comfortable. Water pressure is low but adequate. The restaurant and bar offer relatively simple fare. At breakfast, I would have appreciated more than one cereal option. For dinner, we enjoyed sitting on the beach. But, on subsequent nights, we ventured by taxi to other establishments on the island. The resort offers snorkels and kayaks for hire - we used and enjoyed both. During our stay, the water was calm and clear. There are some patches of coral at the southern end of the beach. The nearest other beach is probably too far for most people to paddle in a kayak. At the front desk, you will find an offer for a day tour to snorkel and have lunch on nearby islands. We did this, and we highly recommend it! We had fabulous snorkelling in four locations, and we enjoyed the simple lunch. For 700 baht per person, we think it's excellent value. Dress in your swimwear, take a towel and take a small amount of cash for an ice cream. You will be picked up at the resort. To get to the island, you can show up at either pier in Ban Phe. If you are prone to seasickness, I recommend using a speedboat which is obviously faster but also sways a lot less. Overall, we found Lima Coco to be a quiet and refreshing location, offering good value for money. We stayed for three nights during the week but, in hindsight, I wish we had stayed for four.
A true gem on Koh Samet”
The Lima Coco Resort is located on the Ao Prao beach and I like it a lot. I tend to come back a few times per year. This beach is relatively quiet, so if you do not enjoy speed boats revving their engines or to go to sleep to the sound of the beach partylife, this is the place for you. Most of the times, the ocean waves seem to be smaller on this side of the island, which is another bonus. The beach is very beautiful. I usually take the ferry boat from Ban Phe and rent a motorcycle close to the ferry terminal. This way, I can still enjoy the nightlife and fireshows on Sai Kaew beach, while living quiet. The Lima Coco is a little bit simpler compared to the other resorts on this beach, but I have never missed anything and the restaurant and service are excellent. I tried the barbecue once and I recommend to go somewhere else. Cheers, Jonas
Beach front hotel with very friendly service”
I stayed in Lima Coco for 6 nights with my mom and sister in one room with 1 additional bed, which made the small room even smaller. But no worry, the room is very clean and comfortable: good air-con, comfortable bed and pillows (even the additional bed) and hot shower- this is all you need after one-day's playing outside in the sun and ocean! Reception is located at the beach view restaurant, where you can get free access to wifi. Lima Coco staff are all very friendly. Lima Coco is located in Ao Phao, which is quite private compared with the busy Saikaew. I was disappointed at the beginnng, but my mom, my sister and I all turned out to be loving the Ao Phao! It's also convenient to go to Saikaew by the green truck (baht per trip, can order at the reception 5 min ahead) and the trip itself is also fun (the road is terribly uneven and you will be sitting at the open-air back of the truck. Well, the truck also has inside seats).
Very nice place to stay”
We were pleasantly surprised by our short stay at Lima Coco. The beach it is on (Ao Prao) is one of the cleaner and nicer beaches on the island. It isn't quite as inexpensive as some of the other places to stay on Samet, but definitely worth the price.
The prettier side of Koh Samet”
I have stayed at Lima Coco twice now and would thoroughly recommend it. It is on the other side of the islands to most of the partying, but easily accessible by a jeep which takes just 5 minutes. The resort design is beautiful and blends in well with the lush surroundings. The beach is much prettier on this side of the island and the sunsets are stunning. I visit Koh Samet regularly and this is by far my favorite place to stay.
Beautiful and quiet resort; outdated roomss”
We had a great stay at Lima Coco Resort. In addition to being right on Ao Prao Beach (one of the quietest beaches on Koh Samet), the food is good and there are drink deals available. The resort is hard to access by public ferry - the best way is to get a speedboat straight to the resort (1500 baht if you arrange with the hotel beforehand).
Simply Amazing”
Honestly, was one of the best stays I have had in a long time. The location was perfect as the beach was not busy and packed with customers. It is a bit far from the port but because of how far it is, it gave me and my girlfriend reason to explore the island. The area is perfect for renting a moped, which you can drive around the island. From the Lima coco Resort was a very nice scenic view of the island which was not far from the hotel. Food, The food was very good at the hotel. I really was impressed with their breakfeast as they have an open lobby and the food is outside, they put covers over everything so that no bugs would get to the food. It was also very delicious. I highly reccomend this hotel to everyone. Coming from Japan my expectation for hotels are failry high and this hotel mey every one.
Beware No Wifi in the rooms”
There are only 3 resorts on Ao Prao beach so they take advantage of this and jack up the prices... Lima Coco resort is Ok the food prices are approx 50% more than the nice resorts at Ao Phai... A small bottle of water at 7/11 cost Baht 7 at the resorts at Ao Phai Baht 30, but take out is only Baht 20, here at this resort Baht 47...A packet of crisps is Baht 65 anywhere else Baht 20... Here chicken and French fries cost Baht 215 at Ao Phai resorts it cost Baht 145. To reach Ao Phai from Ao Prao it is only an 8 min journey by a Song tau at a cost each way for 2 or more of Baht 200. Why do these resorts have to have so many steps hahaha to reach a room. We had a deluxe sea view room over looks a roof hahaha and then u sea the ocean. The room is OK comfy bed very small TV which d satellite channels work now again. The bathroom is designed bad u stand by the loo to have a pee and ur foot drops 2" plus into a shower. The shower is so small with a stupid plastic curtain that gets stuck to your leg every second. The water pressure has no regulator so it the pulse type which is inconsistent between hot n cold. The tiles in the shower area are slippery. There is NO WIFI in the rooms so it's like being a child on curfew the only place you have wifi is in the restaurant which closes at 9pm hahaha. The swimming pool if you can call it that is OK for a plunge but it's very small so you cannot really swim...The breakfast was good with plenty of choice however on our seconds day the bacon and hotdogs were stone cold and they provide the white bread that no one buys open between 8.00am to 10.30am... The surroundings of the resort are very nice...The staff are great and freindly...The sea looks lovely, however I was semi shocked as it is littered with rubbish which is really surprising. There is nothing to do here except eat and the beach which is very nice. So it's great if you want a lazy holiday the sunsets are amazing! They're is a speed boat service that will pick you up and tak
fantastic beach, great budget, really nice rooms”
Lima Coco was the most budget compare to the 2 hotels next to it, sharing the Ao Prao beach, great staff assisted me in surprising my mum with a great birthday pancake, great staff helped us to take our luggage to the room (some of them are up a hill), free upgrade cos my mum's birthday, great service
Great location but inconvenoent transportation”
Lima Coco is located in Ao Prao, where there are only two to three splendid resorts. The white beach here is comfortable. When the sun sets, you will realize this is the very spot to view the best scenery.
Lima Coco on Beautiful Ao Prao Beach”
Located on beautiful Ao Prao beach, this is one of three resorts adjacent to each other and the cheapest of the three by far. In reality however, Lima Coco offers almost all that the others do. So why pay more? Very good value.
Love the atmosphere, location and their services ”
This is our 1st time staying @ Lima Coco and we all love it. We love the atmosphere, location, food and their services especially their staffs. Aow Prow Beach presents the best quite location and its good for a nice and peace holiday on Koh Samet. Just love it!
Great room in a peaceful and private beach”
We had an enjoyable and pleasant stay at Lima Coco. It is located in the middle of only 3 resorts on Ao Prao Beach which therefore enable us to have a great scene of the sea when sitting on the white beach chairs in front of the resort. The resort's restaurant seems to be inferior when compared to the other 2 resorts on either sides but it's still a good alternative for an economical travelers. It would be perfect if the resort would renovate the steps up to the hill to access the room up there as the steps are too steep and high.
Nice stay overall”
I liked my stay at the Lima Coco Resort. The staff were friendly, although too slow service at the restaurant. there was also some rubbish at the beach, which wasn't cleaned as often as it should. I liked my room, it was very spacious and nice. I think that the resort should provide free water, which unfortunately, was not the case, and the price for a bottle was quite steep.
Lima Coco Comments”
We had a great week. Sunshine, wonderful small beach with great water conditions. Friendly staff. Some were maybe a bit young and not so experienced but they will get there. After one week at Lima Coco, resting and relaxing, now ready to jump into business again. Until next time :-)Would have, in general, wanted to see and choose a more environmental friendly perspective not only for Lima Coco, but for THailand with recycling. less plastics, and solar cells on the roofs.
