Good Location, Good Price and Good Staff”
The hostel is near many eating palaces. No that different to locate the hostel. See where you are and just follow the street number. The rooms are reasonably clean. The staff do speak English and are very responsive. When I told that the bed light and the toilet are not working, they quickly get someone to fix them. Recommended place to stay.

Great place. The manager is a stand up guy and it was super nice having a kitchen available to use. Hanging out in the street with other guests and shooting the breeze was the best. They also do a donation to a very special non for profit organization. Please make a donation and maybe organize a tour of the place. So many sick, injured, orphans, and elderly. Over 3000 people so every little bit helps!!

The manager is super helpful with great English and can sort buses for you/give you any advice.. stayed here twice once in small single room(tiny) but was fine and air con worked great, and other time in a 4 bed dorm which I hate doing these days but the singles were sold out so took a night-it wasn’t bad at all, has curtain so private, the beds here are so comfy and good blanket/duvet. Bathroom could be cleaner but kinda hard with the amount of people rolling thru the placenot stop using facilities-tho I never had to wait to use a shower. Little outside area on the street to chill and hang with other travellers if that’s your vibe.

    Good but not enough”
Must leave some money as deposit when do check-in. For me, the receptionist was not friendly, not like in other hotels I stayed in Myanmar. The room was noisy, hearing a lot of sound when people stepped on the upstairs floor. Maybe it is the stay-one-time-only hotel in Yangon. However, the places around it are quitely cool and easy to visit.

Value is more than what you paid for”
At first, I did not expect much coz I just wanna stay for a night while in Yangon instead of sleeping at the airport. The place tends to be in a secluded alley which may one find it difficult to find for first timers. Google is always your friend. The receptionist and staff are nice and helpful. The room itself, the bed, are quite comfy. I'm Asian by the way. The toilet and shower are well maintained. The breakfast is within my Asian taste. I was really surprised by the value of this hotel. Highly recommended :)

The room was decent but the bathroom was smelly and super gross. Breakfast was included, but by the time I went at 9 am they had run out of pretty much everything. The staff at reception were very friendly and helpful either.

    DISGUSTING!!! STAY AWAY!!!! ”
The most DISGUSTING hostel I’ve ever stayed in my life!! And I’ve travelled for 3 years!! Rooms are covered in mould! Smell really bad! No pillow cases, pillow was stained yellow! Marks on bed sheet! Asked for cleans ones st check in they said they would come change and never did!! ROOMS LOOK NOTHING LIKE THE PICTURES!!! Staff unhelpful! Happy to take your money off your card but then over book rooms, this happened 3 times during our stay and we’re constantly made to move around! There booking system is extremely bad I’ve never seen anything like it! Even with booking confirmation from Agoda and booking number they still say they don’t have our booking even though taken money from card!! STAY AWAY!!!!! We have had problem after problem after problem!!! And staff so unhelpful with fixing issue!!!!

the beds were comfy, for both me and the bed bugs”
Bed bugs is self explanatory, beyond that this place is rather dirty. Floors looked liked they were never cleaned, bathrooms were pretty gross. Common area was across the street and full of mosquitoes. Most staff didn't speak English well enough to help. Asked for a city map and the guy at reception told me to go down the street and around the corner? Also when trying to get to bus station, was told I would have to get taxi (that it's the only way). Looked it up online and there's also a bus which only costs 200 as opposed to taxi at 10000. When i asked about the specific bus number, guy at reception acted like it was obvious and we'll known. If it was clean and no bed bugs I would consider staying again for the price, but there are better options.

    Cleaning is needed urgently. ”
The hostel was situated in a narrow lane of 39th Street which is good that it was not noisy at night. Mattress quality was decently good but upper bed was very high and need to climb up a bit. If you are shorter than 5.4 ft. I do not recommend staying here. Toilets and bathrooms were on 2nd floor. So climbed down and walked up steep wooden staircases with one sided handrail and walked down and climbed up was not enjoyable moment. Bathroom amenities left big room for their improvement. If they separate toilets and showers. It may compliment each other. Since guests who use toilets can get dry bowl and dry feet. Breakfast was only cheap white bread, cheap fruit jam and almost empty margarine. But the night fee was cheap so getting cheap things in return cannot complain. Unfortunately I stayed a night at another hostel $1.20 more than this place. They served REAL breakfast and spacious seating area. Also bathroom and toilet ensuite for 4 beds dormitory. Big comparison.

Great place to stay in Yangon”
Staff are excellent and really make the effort to ensure you are happy. Beds are comfortable (a little short - but that's standard I found in Myanmar) Plenty of showers and toilets. Breakfast was fine, nothing special. WiFi was terrible in the dorm building. But was just enough in the common area. Very reasonable proce Located next to some great restaurants and track houses Many long term guests, which has an odd atmosphere at times. Most long term guests were very friendly, 1or2 were less so. Overall, I definitely recommend staying here. Staff were exceptional (especially the manager who has excellent English) and able to meet other travellers easily.

A Very Good Hostel Option for Yangon”
I had stayed here in April 2016 before it was remodeled with the lobby now located across the road from the hostel. The only annoyance (which I mentioned to the lady manager) was the lack of a drinking water dispenser on the accommodation side. A key card is also now required to enter the accommodation side. Otherwise, the Internet worked much better on this stay, BUT there were still some water issues (it’s Yangon) for the showers on upper floors. To be safe, I would take showers on the lower floors & checked the water to make sure it’s working before showering. Staff at the front desk generally speaks enough English to help you, rooms/bathroom areas are cleaned everyday (soap/shampoo+towel), you can put everything under the bed & lock it w/ your lock, & the daily breakfast varies each day (toast/fruit+parathas or mohinga/noodles + tea/coffee/juice). I had sprained a foot (I donated my crutches when I left) before coming but had no problems w/ the steep stairs w/ railing.

Great (Except for a Neighborhood Drunk Grabbing My Shoes!)”
Great place to stay, except for a BIZARRE incident involving the neighborhood drunk/crazy person taking my hiking shoes in the middle of the night from the show rack (according to the CCTV) - it took some time for the owner, police and the drunk/crazy person's wife to sort out the safe return of the correct pair! After that, maybe someone will actually be at the front desk all night long and I am NOT going to be leaving hiking shoes on hostel shoe racks anymore... Otherwise, the staff at the front desk generally speaks enough English to help you with whatever you need, rooms and bathroom areas are cleaned everyday (they provide soap/shampoo + towel) and the daily breakfast varies each day (toast/fruit and parathas or mohinga/noodles or something else) for some variety (there is free water, tea and coffee). Last year, I stayed at Four Rivers and I would say Little Yangon is better. At the former, they only had small lockers in the lobby area that a laptop could not fit into (had to leave it w/ the front desk). At Little Yangon, you can put your entire backpack under the bed and lock it up so there aren't a bunch of huge backpacks lying around. Also, there is a bit more food suitable for tourists in this area (its also closer to the Sule Pagoda) + the upscale but reasonably priced Rangoon Tea House is around the corner. Only problem is the Internet is pretty lousy and was out most of the time I was there. The owner said it was a problem specific to those downtown streets and it would sometimes be out even at the Rangoon Tea House. The Yaw Min Gyi street area has the fastest Internet and the most places to eat - its maybe a 15-20 minute walk. The owner is also going to open a place to stay at Hpa-An which is starting to become popular with tourists.

Good hostel, worth the price you pay”
We didn't expect much when we booked this hostel because it was on a small street and we only stayed for a few hours. The staff were helpful but a bit slow. We were rushing for the airport but the receptionist kinda asked me to queue up after he finished serving (perhaps check in for) a guy. I waited a little bit but the guy was still asking questions and it seemed that it would take more time and we would be late. So my attention was on a guy, tall and have the boss vibe (haha), as he went around the reception and kitchen areas very quickly to check stuff. So I approached him and requested for support. He was indeed very helpful, fast and I'm eternally thankful for having him help me check out. We were just in time for our flight.

Excellent hostel with great location, wifi and breakfast”
I would recommend Little Yangon Hostel for the following reasons: 1.Location: You can reach this hostel using an airport shuttle as low as 500 kyats to Sule and from there about 10 mins walk to the hostel. 2. To visit Aung Ming Lar bus station its very easy to catch bus number 36 with 200 kyats. 3.Beds and nice and big(top bank can be high for some) with individual lockers 4.Wifi worked well 5. Breakfast was good with 24 hours tea and coffee from the kitchen. 6.The reception is across the street is nice ,spacious and cosy, great place to hangout and work. 7.Great staffs, always smiling and trying to give out as much information as they could. 8.The hostel also organizes some day out plans and events 9.Good street food, tea stalls nearby, laundry on the same street. 10.Most attractions can be accessed by buses from Sule. So overall a great place to stay..Little Yangon hostel--Highly recommended !!
