Very convenient and nice hotel staff”
Right opposite, has a nice breakfast place, nice dinner place, and a big Jumbo supermarket where u can get anything u need. Walking distance less than 5 mins to tram station that you can easily access to Central station! We love it so much:)
We loved our hotel room, it was well designed, quite spacious, clean, and had a nice quirky design. LOVED the standalone bath tub. Beds are great for good quality sleep, so comfy, and the staff were all very friendly, and the place seemed very peaceful in general without too much noise. Overall great stay, and look forward to trying one of their featured suites next time!
Dear Susie, Thank you for letting us know about your recent stay. How wonderful that you've had such a pleasant stay with us. It would be our pleasure to welcome you back soon. Kind regards, Lloyd Hotel
An excellent choice with superb customer service”
The front desk staffs (a lady with long blonde hair & her male colleague) are very helpful & friendly. They help me to buy my train ticket & give me tips on the nearby attraction which saves me lots of time. Thumbs up for the clean bathroom & toilet. This is quite rare for shared bathroom. This is the 1st time I give full stars to a hotel. Bravo! Keep up the good work.
Dear guest, Thank you for letting us know about your recent stay. How wonderful that the front desk team provided you with great service. It would be our pleasure to welcome you back soon. Kind regards, Lloyd Hotel
Above and beyond experience”
My pregnant wife and I were well taken care of. It’s has an amazing location near a tram and all of the city locals.
Not very convenient ”
Although hotel is located just 3 stops from the central, there are not much restaurants nearby and it was very quiet. The toilets were shared by the whole floor and hence were not very clean. I did not think it is a hotel but just a hostel. There was no kettle and the tv was small too. I guess the price we paid can get a better hotel in somewhere else.
unique experience, felt like Alice in wonderland”
Most memorable hotel experience so far. Hotel is on a quiet location in Amsterdam, next to tje riverside, easy to access from trainstation. Only a few stos by tram. The building looks like it was a school or hospital before, very interesting settlement, we loved the room, giant bed, big windows with window blindss. Every element of the interior had a little surprise, the chair was a lamp itself, fridge was like just climbed out out from Minecraft game, bathroom "coming out" from the wall just to mention the most memorable, and sttill I felt the hotel is for matured people. Next the hotel there is a cafe, (HSB i think) strongly recommended to try their breakfast after a nightout. Would definitely go back to this hotel!
Quirky hotel ”
This is a quirky hotel in many respects. They offer rooms with different star ratings all the way from one star (no bath in room) up to five stars (all amenities). Both the design and building are interesting. The location is not great unless you have business in the area. Very friendly and service minded staff.
Excellent value for Amsterdam which is an expensive city. On the other hand I got it at the last minute deal. Out-of-the-way enough from the center to be not surrounded by tourists. In fact most of the other guests seem to be Dutch speaking. The building has a history and some character which, when renovated, was left intact and very present except for the restaurant which has been tastefully re-designed in a contemporary style. My bedroom had huge windows that opened and very high ceilings. Staff was helpful. Restaurant had a good menu and by Dutch standards was interesting and good value.
Great location for a few days. ”
Spent 3 nights, great room with windows and a view. Sunny side of the building towards the tram station. We specified 2 beds but only got a double, which we were able to split and move around the room. Small, but in a good location.
A relaxed atmosphere- great location just a few stops from the centre- very interesting history of the building - shops close by - excellent beds with good bed linen - very comfy pillows - I have stayed a few times in 1 to 4 star rooms - each time it’s been a delight
Weekend Visit ”
We stayed at the Lloyd due to the positive reviews and were very pleased with the staff, hotel and overall stay. the bed was super comfortable and the location was easy with public transportation. Would recommend and stay here again.
Lovely room, lobby was beautifully decorated with plenty of natural light and greenery. Direct trams to the city centre and it was easy to navigate. The rooms were clean and beds were extremely comfortable!
I have nothing at all bad to say about this wonderful hotel. We had a fantastic time and only wish we could have stayed longer. The staff were all totally wonderful, the room great and the facilities were all you could ever want. Thank you.
A fascinating space to explore with innovative, quirky rooms”
I was intrigued by the Lloyd Hotel's history as an emigrant hotel, school and even detention center, and the fact that it had been re-done by dozens or architects who designed rooms at all price levels. It is a huge place, including several libraries, a green house, a newspaper center, a lounge, a restaurant and a shop for Dutch design items. Our room was large and airy but we had to shower in front of each other----an interesting experience! The restaurant had some very pricy items (wild boar, etc.) but also reasonably priced burgers and paella. The atmosphere was artsy, bohemian an eclectic. If you don;t mind walking past years of old art and design journals on the way to your room (and one very colorful sofa) then you will enjoy staying here.
Fun and interesting place to stay”
The Lloyd hotel is definitely one of a kind! I had a very enjoyable stay there. The location is excellent. If you are coming from the airport, take a train to Central Station and then tram 26 straight to the hotel; its only a two minute walk from the tram stop. My room overlooked a canal, and the view was wonderful.l The windows to the canal open, so you can enjoy the sights and sounds. Its a very quiet area. There is a cool little mall across the street, with a big supermarket, nice coffee shop and restaurant. The roooms are a good value for the money. The bed was extremely comfortable with great pillows and a very fluffy duvet. There is free coffee and tea available. The restaurant is fantastic and they have a cute gift shop with funky items for sale. There are interesting places to sit throghout the hotel and many artsy peices that make it feel a bit like you are sleeping in a museum. Staff were also nice and helpful. The only think I would suggest is art work in the rooms/
Great stay for couples! And people who want some peace and calm during the night”
We changed hotel in the start of our stay because of a lot of circumstances, and we ended up on Lloyd hotel. This hotel is a little 5 min tramride from central station, and being on the outskirt of the main town was very great because we felt we could relax when we got to the hotel, and no noise from the streets. We got a room at the 5th floor, with a view of a huge clock. The rooms where so light and clean, thick duvet, good pillows and generally a very nice bed. In the hallway we had so many hooks that we could put our entire wardrobe hanging in the hallway, which was very practical. The staff were so nice and easy to talk to, and the prices at the café were in our range. Overall a great stay, and we will come here the next time we go to Amsterdam. Thank you so much!
Great design and unique rooms”
Room was very spacious, clean, unique concept and had a nice feel to it. The staff were very friendly and spoke English very well. The location is about 30 mins walk from the town center, far enough to be quiet but close enough to have fun. Right outside is another restaurant and little strip mall with a grocery store. They had a large locked underground parking garage they shared with another hotel. Things to improve are the beds. Me and my friend shared a very large bed but both had sore backs in the morning. Overall I was happy with the experience and would do it again.
Nice place to stay”
Over my expectation. The location is super good, very near from the tram station Rietlandpark (3 mins walking) and just 3 stops to the Amsterdam Centraal Station (5 mins). The area is fresh and peaceful with trees and pure air. Hotel is close to a river and a park, jumbo supermarket. My room is super cheap and have to use shared bathroom but the room is cute enough, clean and tidy and worth the money, shared toilet and bathroom is various and clean also. Hotel's reception is friendly and helpful. Hotel's restaurant served good foods and nice seats to enjoy a delicious meal, both outside and inside. Recommended.
Lloyd Hotel Amsterdam review”
Quirky but historical, The Lloyd Hotel is an excellent choice for a short stay in Amsterdam. Only 3 stops / 5-10 mins from Centraal Station/the Rijksmuseum, wonderfully clean with good local amenities: supermarket, cafe, pub etc. Great!
Wonderful short stay”
I got one of their last rooms on a spur-of-moment trip a couple weeks ago. The first room wasnt quite right for me traveling singly ;-)...it was very pink with circular bed and ceiling mirror. Luckily there was still another available, though it had twin beds. It was quite designed in a playful way and really very comfortable! (the bed itself and linens were lovely.) Both of these rooms were in the basement, and the one I ended up in was fairly near the hotel entrance, so it was noisy 4-5am with folks coming in from fun and people departing early. But I still slept pretty well. The next day I decided to stay another night if they had room, and got to move to the 3rd floor. This room was lovely and white and had a nicely sized desk for me to work on. I was lucky and got to keep it for a third night too. The bathrooms are fine and cleanlined, and although I generally dislike the "wet-room" concept, where the shower isnt walled off from the toilet an sink, the space was deep enough (in all the rooms I saw) that it worked fine. My only quibble is that there arent any hooks or towelracks (except for the rack above the toilet that has all the towels on it.) Had a fine late evening snack the first night of tomato soup and fresh oysters and a good beer from right down the road (Br. T'Ij) The Breakfast brunch is copious and superb and the bar can also make a very good cappuccino. The building is a delightful combination of old and new design in the way the Dutch seem to know how to do. It was an aesthetic delight staying there and it took some effort to get me out and into the center, and not to stay there all day! I rented a bike the last day and rode around the neighborhood , which is the eastern docklands, full of modern architecture and water and air. It's a straight shot walking or biking down to Brouwerij T'Ij (in the windmill) which is certainly a center of joy. And getting back to the station via the tram was easy peasy and very fast. I've given this top sta
