staff are very nice and accommodating. Rooms were very clean but the pool has a warm water which personally I really dont like. But overall the service is very good
If you’re looking for an alternative from the beach while in Bohol, Loboc River Resort ticks a lot of boxes. The location is superb, it sits alongside a beautiful tropical river which is truly mesmerizing! To use this as a base for touring the Chocolate Hills and the rest of the island worked very well. Having your own car or motorcycle is the way to go. The restaurant food is of great quality with quite a varied menu and also good value. The staff are the best that I have seen in the whole of the Philippines..... very well trained! My friend who I was travelling had come down with a bad stomach condition prior to our arrival. The day that we arrived, we asked the front desk if they could advise us of a local clinic. Not only did they give us solid advice, but the manager Clai insisted on accompanying us to the clinic and then onto the nearby hospital. It took 5hrs of her time and refused to be compensated for her time. A giant Thank-you from Pete and Randall, Canada.
Perfect hotel to chill and relax and do a bit of jungle sightseeing”
The staff is amazing here. Everyone treats you so nice, it was easy to rent scooters and head off to see the chocolate hills and the tarsiers. If your looking for shopping or lots of food options tag city is about 30 minutes away but the resort food is ok if you feel like staying close. We loved the pool and the amenities for the kids. Nice soft beds and air con. Wish water pressure was a bit more but I realize that’s a tiny thing. Sign said WiFi was spotty in the rooms and that was true but I didn’t have an issue with that really. Excited to return and see the new family rooms being built as well as the new pool. The local village is so kind and welcoming to us. We look forward to returning!
Very relaxing spot”
This resort has a lovely big pool and restaurant right on the river. We stayed in a riverfront room which has a nice view. Staff are wonderful. Walk across the bridge to see and meet the locals at the village and play basketball. You can go watch the monkeys being fed and the kids can ride the buffalo. Food was tasty and well priced. Pretty noisy at night and early morning with roosters crowing and the air conditioning unit was loud too. Pool area is lovely though. We rented kayaks which was fun for an hour.
We had such a great time at this resort that we stayed there a second time at the end of our holiday. The staff were amazing. Joanne was particularly helpful. The room had a lovely view of the river and the bed was very comfortable. There was a good selection of food at the restaurant and the breakfast was very nice. We really enjoyed staying here and will definitely come back when we come back to the Philippines.
We had such a great time at this resort that we stayed there a second time at the end of our holiday. The staff were amazing. They went our of their way to help us. The river view rooms are very relaxing and the swimming pool is big, with a great view of the river. The restaurant had good food and had a few vegetarian options. They were also very willing to adapt some of their dishes to make them vegetarian. There are a variety of activities provided by the hotel. We did the firefly watching and a river cruise. We particularly enjoyed the river cruise, which allows you to see the sights along the river as well as giving you the opportunity to swim around some small waterfalls. We definitely want to stay at this resort again when we visit the Philippines.
Back to nature”
We loved our stay, we had 3 rooms and large family. Best things are the infinity pool on a hot day, and the restaurant food is sensational, reasonably priced too! Complimentary breakfast was also top notch. We did a group of 10 boat tour up the river which was 2 hours well spent. Also the kayaking which was safe and fun. Would have liked to try stand up paddleboard and firefly but ran out of time. Rooms were basic, comfortable and clean. No wifi in our rooms, smart had 3G but globe did not. They have done a great job of keeping a ‘back to nature’ vibe, and have kept the natural surroundings fairly intact. I highly recommend this resort, it’s quiet and relaxing.
Good place for solo retreat”
I came here for a solo retreat. The place didn't disappoint my expectations. It had a quiet and calm atmosphere. The restaurant was situated near the river so you have a breathtaking view everytime you dine. Rooms are like individual native cottages. I got the forest view room. It's a bit dated and some parts need fixing, but the rooms are really clean. The bed is really comfortable. There's a patio where you can sit and have a cup of coffee or read a book. Firefly watching is a must!
Chill out in comfort”
Excellent location, lots to do or simply hang out at the lovely pool. Life on the river is beautiful. Such a charming place -very helpful staff who are always so polite with a smile on their face. Feeding the monkeys and chickens, riding the water buffalo, seeing the amazing fireflies down the river at night thrilled our children. Paddle boarding and kayaking was great too but an extra charge. Room was lovely but too small for all 4 of us. Despite booking for 4, they still expected our 9 year old son to sleep in our bed, whilst our daughter had a mattress on the floor. We expressed our concern of 3 of us sleeping comfortably in our bed, so they then charged us an extra 1000 pesos a night for another mattress. A family size room is definately needed. Building is happening so as it grows i hope it won't lose its charm. Going across the bridge and into Loboc on the path is well worth it too. Quiet and charming. Loved it.
Pretty good for the price at Christmas time.”
Secluded location....great staff...good pool....good day trips arranged...one downside was the bathroom quite small and hot water took a while to heat up and had weak water pressure....otherwise good.
Positiv: The resort is very beautiful and quiet, perfect for couples and families who want to relax. It has a lot of free activities Service quality is splendid Restaurant is just awesome Negativ: Ants are everywhere, which is actually normal for the Philippines, but you literally sleep with them. So in the morning you have way too much dead ants inside your bed and your body is full with bites. The left side of the resort is old in comparison with the right site. We changed the room, because our heater did not work properly and the room (riverview - same price) was bigger as well as the balcony and bathroom, the interior was newer, the TV, water boiler, shower, lamps. Which seems a little bit unfair, because it depends on your luck which room you get.. At our last day, we got basically kicked out. Our ferry was at 8pm and they lied to us that we would have to buy the tickets latest at 4pm, which is simply not true.. Unnecessary waiting at the terminal!
Lovely place ”
Pool was awesome and food was great! There was also free table tennis. Room was beautiful and staff was very friendly. If we go to Bohol again, we will definitely stay in this Resort!
Great location ”
Staff very helpful Location great View of the river lovely Only slight con: Breakfast served to you at the table and was the same every morning .... but still was ok.
nice vacation resort”
love the food... staff were nice especially at the restaurant... just mosquitoes at night time... they should do something to eliminate them... all in all our stay there was really superb and the pool was so so great!!!
A little slice of jungle-like paradise in Bohol”
I spent a night here at LRR and my only regret is not staying longer. I arrived, and was greeted by LRR staff. They were eager to assist/help and were quick to get me checked-in. The cottages along the river really give in to the resort's feel. Waking up with a view of Loboc River easily became one of the highlights of my trip. If you're here for a short time period like me, I highly recommend doing the stand up paddle boarding. You'll see the scenic sights and lots of locals (and don't forget the adorable children waving from the side!) I decided to enjoy dinner at Loboc River Resort instead of the Floating Restaurant, and enjoyed local dishes that felt much like I was eating a home cooked Philippino meal. And if there's anything you can choose to do while you're here, you MUST see the fireflies! You'll go on a boat with a guide, and they'll take you to where the fireflies are. Pictures don't give it justice! Thank you LRR & staff for a wonderful stay, I'll be back for sure!
The rooms are very large and comfortabel. The pool is fantastic and beautifully located next to the Loboc River. Unfortunately they run out of towels every other hour, which is very annoying. If you are lucky you can spot some fire flies at night. Food in the restaurant is quite good. Only downside is that the hire of kayaks and SUPs is extremely overpriced. It is best to have your own transport here.
Peaceful Place for Relaxation”
The staff were friendly. The place is peaceful with a nice view of Loboc River but a little far from popular tourist spots, like the Chocolate Hills and Tarsier Sanctuary. It lets you experience farm life.
Serenity by the river”
Lovely property...you can only eat the captive restaurant....but the food is good and the prices are reasonable...nice surprise...most resorts with a captive restaurant usually overcharge Also the location means you need to hire motorbike or pay taxi fares if you want to go anywhere... Hard to fault the service and facilities...
nice relaxing place”
This hotel is a little off the beaten track, which is not all bad. The narrow concrete road to the resort was very rough, broken up and needed repairs badly. The resort is a fun mix of rustic and comfortable and succeeds for the most part. The restaurant was quite good and reasonably priced, a good thing since it was a long walk to find another one. The pool area was beautiful and well kept and you can catch your own fish in the dredged out canals. The restaurant will then cook them up whole ( Filipino style) for your meal at $500 pesos a kilo. That includes the two very basic bamboo fishing rods and some shrimp pieces as bait. There are wild monkeys in the trees and supposedly water buffalo rides, but the rain when we were there prevented that. This the Philippines so things were not quite right like the hot water shower that was either scalding or cold and a very loose toilet seat, but minimal issues really. Overall it was a nice place that the kids loved, will go back for sure.
Loboc River Resort is very convenient for my needs when staying in Loboc and this is my 2nd stay with them. I like the atmosphere and the friendly staff, I had raised a few concerns with management and they were addressed very promptly and to my satisfaction. I had met the owner of the Resort and by coincidence she had just returned from a holiday in my home city of Sydney,Australia so it was nice to chat about that and her life here in Loboc ,Bohol. I will definitely be back to stay again and try their new cappacino machine 😁. Thank you all at LRR for a great stay and see you soon.
