Mthatha has a reputation for being a tough town so it was a relief to find the lodge in a quiet part of town in a good neighborhood with secure parking. Our room was small but very clean and decorated in a funky modernistic style. We had not realised that dinner needed to be pre-booked but Agnes managed to rustle up a delicious meal for us. Only complaint - the shower emitted a high pitched squeal when in operation. Great place for an overnight stop.

1.Definitely great value for money especially booking via Agoda. 2.Location ,a little dodgy to find since street lighting and street markings are poor or not available, pls action this, Municipality or Lodge owners to pls put more signage to find place easier and for marketing, more people to experience the warmest hospitality in Umthatha which in most service centres is unheard of .Pls close potholes in the vicinity near the Lodge. But once inside the Lodge all the potholes frustration is forgotten because of the warm hospitality we received. 10/10 in cleanliness, well done to housekeeping staff (Ntombi) Sisa at reception for welcoming and managing the lodge 10/10, add 5 star breakfast he prepares, we'll have to come again to Bellagio. This is the best place to stay in and in a convinient area in Mthatha. It is very neat with modern finishes. I would book it over and over again when I am in Mthatha.

Best sleep”
It was really nice, and I got some of the best sleep, the bedding was incredibly comfortable. It was refreshing to stay in a place that was very clean, had AC, WiFi and fridge in the room. Our room had cool decor with red lighting which made for a romantic evening. I would recommend this hotel if you are staying in Mthatha.

Wonderful staff”
We were warmly welcome by Jonella and Tando. They even cooked a delicious dinner although the restaurant was closed the day of our arrival. The rooms are very tastefully decorated. The lodge is in a safe area and easy to find. There is even a small swimming pool. We had so much fun with Jonella and Tando taking pictures and hugging before leaving and the served a delicious breakfast. The place is quite expensive compared with others. But probably it's difficult to find a decent place in Umtata. We would stay there again. Thank you Jonella and Tando, we will not forget you, you both have just wonderful personalities.

My stay at Lodge Bellagio ”
Good facilities, staff was friendly, nice and clean linen, good entertainment area. Only two faults, firstly the cleanliness of the toilets needs to be done properly. I advised the staff member who kindly moved me to another room which was the same situation but not as bad either way it's got to be cleaned inside and out thoroughly before next guests arrive. Secondly, the cupboards was dusty. However, I would surely recommend this place and will stay there again.

The host was very friendly! Due to unforeseen circumstances I only checked in at 12 midnight. She waited for me and kept on calling to check how far we were! The place is clean and location is central. I would stay here again.

If your passing through this will do for a stopover. Don't expect too much but it's perfectly adequate( and in a safe area). 1.5kms away is the Savoy hotel and conference centre which has a couple of eating places and there's a Spar next door to it.

I could not sleep at night as there were over 30 people around their small swimming pool making noise the whole night and I couldn’t sleep. Won’t recommend it at all.

Prima stopover, maar...”
Ze waren behoorlijk rumoerig, waardoor onze goede nachtrust al vroeg werd verstuurd. Ontvangst en kamer was prima. Voor ons was het een goede stopover tussen port Elizabeth en Drakensbergen.
