Seem a little run down”
The last time when iw as around about 3 years ago, the place was much cleaner and impeccable. the buffet was amazing. Felt that this time, the buffet isnt that great anymore. The Restaurant layout seems very run down. I asked for a sea view. Had to change room but at any angles, Sea view blocked. was really disaapointed

back to my favourite boutique hotel but now newly renovated rooms <3 love the location and services there. the only set back is the furniture/cupboards/bed frames are slightly old. otherwise, i always enjoyed my stay there. will definitely come back

Pro: Friendly staff, nice and quiet environment.. Love breakfast selections.. Cons: Children pool tiles at the edges came off need to fix it as soon as possible to avoid any incident. Should upgrade the premium sea facing family room, look a bit old, windows stopper panel broken..

The tranquility environment made my stay relaxed and stress free. The room i had, had a nice view from sea n pool view. Near sea side with water sport activities and outdoor massage. The staffs are friendly, the room that i had was huge and cleaned. Breakfast was fabulous. Location near eateries especially opened at night and had night market just outside the hotel. Near 24hr fastfood too. The only problem i had was, the head pillows was too soft. Other than that, i had a great stay at Lone Pine. Will stay again if i come to Penang.

This is my 2nd stay here and when I booked for the 2nd time, I did not realise that the hotel management had changed. Going through the reviews after that had me wondered whether I had made a wise decision or not. However, I can safely say that Lone Pine did not change at all and in fact, the staff there are striving hard to maintain the standards that have made the place a wonderful one. The place is still as cozy as ever. The rooms are newly refurbished with more sleek design but still maintaining its charm. The only thing I miss are actually the free flip flops... Hahaha... Those were really great mementos of the place and practical ones too.

Newly renovated room but poor service ”
The bedsheet with stain, have to request them to change upon check in. Poor service at breakfast coffee house. We only get our coffee after 3rd request while our neighbour tables get it quite immediate after they request.. We feels that the waiter & waitress only like to give good service to foreigners but not local Malaysian.. we felt discriminated by the foreign wAiter & waitress.

It was a staycation on my birthday. We were greeted by the staffs and served with welcome drinks. Staffs were so friendly and they did not forget my birthday. As requested, the room was decorated and cupcakes were given for my birthday. So sweet of them. The room was spacious, clean and came with a balcony. I like the dressing area very much! The general ambience was good and tranquil (probably not many people staying at the same time). Pool side was instagramable. The beach was just after the garden, it would be good if it is a private beach. Breakfast was good too. Thanks for everything, I hope I can visit again.

Pleasant hotel but the check-in/out receptionist are awful.”
Room is big & spacious, beautiful layout as well, bed is very comfortable with a nice view, the entire resort is beautiful and pleasant. Breakfast is very decent, pool is warm perhaps due to the scorching hot weather but not an issue, the public beach is conveniently right outside. HOWEVER.. the receptionist that checked us in and out was not exactly pleasant. We arrived at 2:30pm, hoping that we could get in to our room already since check-in is just 30 mins away, but was told that our room is not ready & they will call when it is ready. At 3:10pm, we walked to the receptionist, apparently our room is ready but no one called us. The receptionist gave us a sinister facewhen she handled us our key-card. We asked if we could have slightly later check-out too, before she even checked she told us a straight "NO, you need to pay if you want to extend your stay & our rooms are fully booked". Plain rude & nasty, in short. No THANK YOU, NO WELCOME, NO SMILE.

Price quite expensive but worth it as the room is spacious and very near to beach.. breakfast just ok for me.. swimming pool just average.. bath tub available at balcony.. enough for my 3 & 5 years kids to have fun.. my room facing beach and nice to rest at balcony..

This is the second time I stay in this hotel. I came back to this hotel because the environment of this hotel is relax and quiet. But staff is lack of training, especially staff at buffet breakfast section. Otherwise Overall experience is good.

Overall, I am satisfied with this hotel. Below are some pointers for the hotel to improve; 1) There are several crows at the breakfast area, and stealing food from customers tables. 2) The toilet light tripped, but the hotel responded pretty quickly. 3) The fridge wasn't working, but the hotel responded pretty quickly and replaced the fridge. 4) TV remote wasn't working. It took about 12 hours for the hotel to give a remote replacement. Had to follow up twice before getting the remote replacement.

Great environment, great service and the view is nice. There's a mini bath tub outside the balcony which I really like. My room was just renovated so it's quite new. the staff is friendly and even greet you.

Pests control & ceiling/aircond molds”
We found some big cockroaches in our room, & the room smells a bit musty. I could see molds on the ceiling and molds on daybed cushions cover. I was lucky just get stuffy nose due to my allergies to molds. Maybe the managment can make this review to consider invest on some airconditioning maintenance & better paint for the building. Apart from these, we had pleasent stay with good services from the front desks staff (DM, front desk staff, the bellboy, chef & restraunt staff). We might comeback and hope these highlights is taken care of 😊
