"Enjoyed our stay at the Wyndham Garden Long Island City Hotel. Our room was neat and clean, friendly staff. We used the subway which is only a 10 minute walk. Always felt safe during day and night. They do have a shuttle which runs a certain schedule but we didn't use it that much and walked the 10 minutes to and from subway. 15 minute subway ride to Manhattan/Midtown. Looking for a clean inexpensive stay close to subway but not paying Manhattan prices. This place is a good alternative. "

"I was a bit hesitant from the reviews mentioning bedbugs, but overall when my boyfriend and I got there, it was all nice and clean. The train station is literally a block away and all the stores and restaurants near us. I have complaints. I had an awesome time and enjoyed my stay there. "

"We stayed at Paper Factory for 7 nights on 28th August – 4th September 2016. The hotel was based at 36th Street subway station and is directly across the road from the Hotel. This was extremely convenient. We were a bit weary of staying at this hotel because of its location, however, it really was a 10-15 minute subway journey to Times Square and approximately a 10 min journey to areas such as 5th Avenue and Herald Square (Macy’s). We were extremely impressed of how quick we could get to/from central NYC back to our hotel. The hotel has a 7-11 beside it, which is really convenient. In addition to this, there is a supermarket which sells everything ‘American’. This was really good for purchasing snacks for your room or edibles to back take home for gifts. There is also a McDonalds, Subway, Panera Bread and Wing Stop about 10 minute walk away. The hotel staff we friendly and polite – however, we had an issue with our hotel room door (Room 411). For some reason, the door would open itself (or somebody was opening it with a master key). This happened on several occasions and we could never catch the person who was doing this. This was reported to the hotel twice and I was told that the cameras would be checked, but I never heard anything back from them and no action was taken. With regards to our room, we were pretty happy with it! We got it for an extremely good price at approximately £100 per night (which is pretty cheap for a NYC hotel), so we couldn’t really complain! It was a clean and spacious room. The shower was very big and we were happy with the bathroom. The bed was comfortable and we had a very large window which gave us a lovely view of the city. The only downfall to this, was that the safe in our room did not work and it was never replaced by staff/housekeeping – luckily nothing was taken! The highlight of the hotel would be the lounge on the 4th floor. This lounge consisted of a vending machine, 2 large refrigerators, an ice machine, microwaves, TV,"

"We have stayed here many times to visit a daughter in Astoria and attend the US Open in Queens, and there is no other place I book when coming to NYC. It's a short subway ride into Manhattan, and there's an excellent restaurant just up the street (Dutch Kills Central) for drinks and an evening meal or Sunday brunch. The hotel is spotless, the rooms have everything you need and they are clean, well appointed and a few have amazing views of the City and the Queensboro bridge, especially at night. The rates are far ore affordable than Manhattan, and there are several parking places nearby if you're driving. All the staff are very friendly, helpful and always willing to help. I've stayed in many other hotels in Long Island City, and this one is BY FAR THE BEST."

"Hotel is much more cheaper compared to those in city, very accessible, 10 minutes walk to nearest metro - Queensboro plaza/Queensbridge station, only few stations to the city. Room cleanliness can be improved, there were some stains in the towel. Overall, worth the money. "

"Definitely one of the cheaper hotels in the area but is completely worth it. The hotel just opened recently so it is extremely clean and nice. The rooms are a little small but other than that the rooms were comfortable. Location is great as there is a subway station to get to Manhattan 2 blocks a way. Definitely would stay there again in my next trip to NYC."

" I was in Long Is. City to visit my cousins who live nearby and just had a baby. The staff seemed excited too! They were so accomodating and friendly. We knew them all by name. My local cousins, the new parents live at the corner of the shuttle stop which could not have been more convenient. My bed was very comfortable, the bath facilities were all excellent and the tv had more than enough channels to keep me amused. I'm sure I will return to this hotel for the above mentioned reasons."
