Good stay”

Close to downtown locations. Liked the privacy and silence of the place; Ternate has a busy traffic. Good value for money, did not expect great luxury but got what I expected.

Very Basic, but could not be a more helpful staff!”

Great. Any expecting more than a simple Kita (lodge) with also western style appointments will be disappointed. But for simple accomodations was AOK. Beds were comfortable, had hot running water all the time for showers, and a very well working in-room air conditioner that was most appreciated! "Breakfast" was very simple. rice and veggies, sometimes eggs, toast, tea/coffee, but OK to get the day started. MOST +++ was the manager Maydee who could not have been more helpful. Driving many of us around town and airport, acting as a translater for us both written and as we were about by phone, and juggling rooms to meet specific needs of singles doubles, and "superiors". Superior rooms are well worth the very small cost to upgrade. Don't stay here if you want a 5* western experience! But for simple lodging and a friendly helpful staff it was great. And the wifi worked! If your there go to the Royal restaurant, you won't be disappointed.

One eclipse week: great in Losmen Kita

Just ok”

With only two choices in the $30 - $40 range on Ternate island, this might be the least unsatisfactory. When I arrived I found out that the hotel has not received any notification of my booking. I was offered a superior room (which was what I prepaid for). I was told, however, that the wifi signal doesn't reach my room so I was transferred to a standard room down the corridor from the lobby. The room is very shabby. The bed, while wide, has stinky sheets, hard pillows and, I think, bed bugs (since I came out of those 4 days of hell with bites on my legs). My bathroom door had rotting edges. There's hot water and the AC works fine. I was thankful for that at least! There's a shower head but I found it more efficient to just fill the large plastic tub with water. My toilet flush did not work so had to fill the tub again with water and dump it in. My room was cleaned once over the 6 days I was there. None of the staff speaks English so I had to make do with my broken Indonesian. I ate at the restaurant in the hotel premises where I pointed to what I wanted (ayam means chicken) and hoped it'll come out palatable. I lucked out most of the time. The food wasn't bad.

This hotel I rated up due to the extremely helpfully, friendly and attentive staff. One or two staff members spoke good to excellent English, but there would also be a woman at the front desk for long period who spoke no English. However she was able, in most instances to call upon other people to translate. This I thought was unusual since at the time I was there the hotel was full of English speaking guests. The other problem I had was that I got terribly bitten by bedbugs in my room (53). However, some of my friends in other rooms has no bedbugs at all. I would stay there again.

Good place to stay”

I had a clean, spacious room with hot water in the bathroom. Good location, short walk to the sea, eateries around. Brekkie was the usual rice and noodles but with bread and a sandwich maker so you could kinda make toast. Very friendly and helpful staff. Wifi slow but at least it was there. I went for the Total Solar Eclipse so met others there to chat to in the lounge.

Terrible with Parrots in Solitary Confinement ”

Every bit of information from the desk was wrong. Nobody speaks any English. Paid for breakfast and got none even though I was an hour early everyday. One parrot has pulled all of its feathers out, the others were chained to perches. A horrible place in every way. Ternate is not what guides say. It is a full on Islamic Sultanate without a single bottle of beer and awful food everywhere. There is an extensive taxi mafia all over the island.

I booked a new room which was very comfortable . Staff are great. Don't bother with the breakfast.

There are some local food restaurants and chinese restaurant which has beers within walking distance.

Vue sur Gamalama Ternate ”

Visite de la ville et de l'île et de ses productions bien spécifiques et une journée à Tidore. Cet hôtel a des chambres dans un état assez délabré en effet les installations électriques font peine à voir , idem salle de bains , le lieu pour le petit - déjeuner est -comment dire- un peu vieillot mais le tout laisse malgré tout une impression positive au vu de de la sympathie dégagée par le personnel

Nur zum Schlafen okay (selbst mitgebrachtes Moskitonetz nicht vergessen), unfreundliches Personal, keine Extras vorhanden, das Frühstück schlecht - soweit noch vorhanden. Ich dachte, ich hätte das schlechteste Zimmer gekriegt, aber weit gefehlt: Soweit ich in die anderen Zimmer hineinschauen konnte, sahen die genau so aus. Eine einzige Enttäuschung.

Dit is een goedkoop en afgeleefd hotel. Proper maar dat zie je niet echt omdat alles oud en afgeleefd is. Spreken enkel indonesisch. Ontbijt is een koffie met een stuk brood
