Great Dive Staff”
We went to get my 15 year old son his Open Water Certification. Everyone in the the dive shop were very professional and my son enjoyed every minute with his course. We will return because of the dive staff. The room was good and was value for money. The downfall was the restaurant as the food was pricey, small portions, and service was slow. We went to other restaurants nearby. Overall location is great and if you are diving would highly recommend.
Great location on the beachfront. No complaints about the room, and having a balcony is nice. Not a lot of options for breakfast, but the beef tapa is exceptional! Has a back entrance by the dirt road so it's convenient when going to town.
Family trip at bohol ”
Awesome family trip
Awesome .great ambiance
I requested for a 1 big bed, but when we arrived, we are given 2 single beds. So we just end up on combining the 2 beds. The foods are kind of pricy. But The location itself is okay. Staffs are nice and friendly
Restaurant served poor quality food with bad service from waiting staff. Stayed in a modern deluxe room, which was very nice, saw modern standard first and was well below expectations. Hotel in a good location. Restaurant plays loud music every night until 10pm.
I always go back to this place”
This place could be turned into a gem if the renovation is taken place soon, at night the entertainment is of an old fashioned, need to be changing plus updated the bar with everything, could rock the place if needed to, food is nice and restaurant facing the beach, what more can you ask for; I like this place very much and went there several times; due for full revamp !
The hotel is right on the beach. Scuba diving is only a few steps away. Nice big and clean rooms. There's a swimming pool and a bar. Bars and clubs are close by. Breakfast cost less then 300 pesos. My only complaint is they should hire someone who knows how to make drinks. Over all I would give this hotel a 4 star because of the friendly staff.
Has so much potential ”
Stayed a total of 3 nights for the price u expect a lot better location is great and staff were very helpful but the hotel needs some fixes bed was very hard feet were black after walking on barefoot for a few min WI fi whips provided was kind of slow not sure if I would stay again room was called a standard
POOR SERVICE at the restaurant - prioritizes caucasian looking customers than asian ones Restaurant staffs were not attentive and were always talking to each other at one corner Poor room cleaning service - sticky floor with dust/sand including the bed and especially under the bed Old and outdated room and facilities, eventhough they mentioned they just recently had renovations Poor internet connection Several days with poor water pressure Can find better hotels nearby We stayed for 5 days and our beddings were not changed even once The hotel is right in front of the beach but can't swim due to boats coming and going
location is right on alona beachfront. staff are accommodating, complained about the toilet flush and fix it right away. no room make up for 3 nights, i guess you have to mention it to the staff. Excellent lifeguard on duty, because he is really guarding the pool and went immedietly to my son. for the price for beachfront i think this is excellent.
Beachfront Hotel with small pool but clean rooms”
we received an upgrad in the junior suite room which was on the third floor with beach view an a huge terasse. The room was great with a own wirlepool, flatscreen tv and a full minibar. The restaurant is good bzt expensive compare to other restaurants on the beach. For pick up to the airport with the can costs 500 peso.
Decent accommodations but don't look for anything spectacular”
This resort is probably at the mid tier of the "acceptable" spectrum. They provided us a room with a balcony (not much to view, though), a bed, TV, safe, towels, etc. Pretty basic hotel stuff. The water pressure was way down, though, so showering wasn't as relaxing as you would like. There was hot water. Our airconditioner conked out on day 3 so we spent our last night without it - ceiling fan made up for it. Most of these hotels have excellent service from the staff - it's their facilities that bring their scores down. If you're going to be doing most of your activities outside - like scuba, beach, tours, restaurants - then this place should meet your needs. But if you're looking for a "resort" feel and wanting to relax in your room, this may not be the place. Also, the restaurant's a bit overpriced...take a walk outside and find a lot better places for meals.
other than the location, Lost Horizon is truly a disappointment”
I should have paid closer attention to the negative reviews on here. First off, let me say that I have lived in the Philippines for going on 3 years now and have traveled all over the country = my expectations are localized. This review is for 'Modern Standard' Room #6 The pros: front desk staff courteous & helpful, pool is cleaned & treated daily, free breakfast offered with the Agoda deal is adequate w several choices offered, water pressure & temperature of shower adequate, cable channels offered were excellent, view from the room was nice The cons: wait staff seemed very unhappy and barely cracked a smile for the 4 days of our stay, the room was very dirty upon checking in (the floor was filthy, and was only cleaned upon request), the bathroom is tiny and very awkward to move around in, the toilet never worked properly, despite a whole day of maintenance 'fixing' it. We just gave up. In the end, all you get with this property is an excellent location.
What needs attention is: - Shower! Only 8 small streams are working in the shower head. No preassure in the water. Only sometimes hot water. Useless to have a proper shower. Internet: we were in room H6. Unstable and VERY slow Internet. Useless for other things than messages and reading news. Better and cheaper restaurants just close by. Small, but nice pool. Excellent location litterally BY the beach.
Great location!! BUT First we didn’t get the room we ordered, the stuff told us it’s Agoda’s fault and gave us uncomfortable room for us... the real problem is the noise. There were construction just outside the resort which made us woke up very early and resumed until the evening !
accessible to the beach”
Good Value, Good location on beach, nice enough staff, Bathroom uses salt-water and shower didn't get hot, nice balcony, nice room, nice restaurant, but food little pricey. didn't use pool, overall OK stay.
Very good, but not without flaws.”
When we arrived, there were several things that needed fixing in the bathroom. It was obvious that a couple of them were things that had been not working for quite some time. So it's obvious that maintenance only seems to be done when someone complains. It really detracts from your vacation, when you get to a room and have to spend time getting things fixed. Also, the bathroom needs a shower rod and curtain to keep the water from the shower in the shower. Would putting a shower curtain in really be that big of an expense? The pillows we were given were foam rubber and some of the most uncomfortable pillows I have ever slept on in my life, really bad. The staff at the hotel was super nice and very responsive to all requests, they do a great job. The included breakfast was very good and tasty. It would not take that much to make this hotel really good, because the upgrades needed are relatively minor.
My fiancee and I stayed here for 8 nights in July. Our room was great. It was clean, safe, new and well cared for. No issues booking through Agoda either. The pool is great and very clean. The band at the restaurant played until 10 at night, but so did all the other bands at every other restaurant and bar on Alona Beach. If you want quiet all night, dont stay on Alona. Overall this hotel is one of the best and nicest I've ve stated in Asia. Super incredible value for your money. Cant recommend it more if you go to Bohol.
