I had a good enough experience at LPQ that I came back when passing through town again. Breakfast (included, surprise!) is quite good considering the low price, and internet access was fairly reliable as long as not every single guest in the hostel is using it at once. Bathrooms and dorms were spotlessly clean and pillows were great but beds were rock hard. Staff was a bit standoffish, but if you persevere with being polite and friendly to them, they'll open up a bit. They weren't rude or anything but they seem to deal with a lot of jerk guests quite regularly so I couldn't blame them for being guarded.

Cheapest place in Luang Prabang”
This is the cheapest place I could find in Luang Prabang city centre. It's around 5 min walk to night market and other tourist spots. The hostel in general is clean, still the toilet and shower room can be improved. The staffs are super helpful, he helped with calling the airlines to change my flight date and finding my friend's lost and delivering it to another person to bring it to Vang Vieng for us. The breakfast here is also big plus as the menu is diversed and the taste is good.

i caught Dengue while visiting Luang Prabang but thankfully i recovered because I slept very well ate great breakfast & everything i needed was a walk away. Wish i could have done more in Laos but i was very happy in this hostel. friendly staff well maintained & great location.

Nice room and easy going”
Pretty good! We decided to stay an extra night because we loved Luang Prabang and choose to stay with LPQ. The included breakfast was so so but still okay considering it was included in the price of the room. The staff were nice enough but kept asking me if I was a guest. Apparently I have a forgettable face. No serious issues. Good value for money

Great hostel, with amazing breakfast!”
I chose to stay at this hostel after already staying in Luang Prabang for two days. And this hostel was definitely better! It was clean and the staff is always ready to help and give useful tips. As a hostel i think it is a bit overpriced, but breakfast is included and delicious which makes me feel okay with spending those two extra bucks than what I normally would do on hostels. The atmosphere is also good, it's very easy to meet people at both breakfast and in the evenings.

LPQ Backpackers Hostel has good location. Staff was friendly but the hostel could be cleaner. Our room was wet and had bad smell. The surprise was the fact that they did not have soap. Only toilet paper. The breakfast is not the biggest but is't good.

Good Stay!”
We stayed here two different times. It was great value, good location and breakfast was included. Staff was friendly. Rooms were quite basic but totally fine although the beds are a bit uncomfortable. Would be back again if we were in Luang Prabang!

I stayed at LPQ backpacker's hostel and the staff was really nice. I was able to talk to him while playing billiards. He did share some things about them, where they were originally from. The location is perfect. Near the roundabout and night market.

Great stay”
This backpackers is in a great location, very close to Joma bakery, very short walk to night market, restaurants/bars and river. Gate is locked at 10pm which is good for security, they are happy to open for you if you come back late at night. Staff were very kind to call our transport to vang vieng that was running late. Breakfast is simple but nice. Great choice for backpackers and couples.

A nice hostel for backpackers, they provide you a padlock and lock, a clean comfy bed in a shared room of eight beds, a hot pressure shower with separate basins, breakfast is included (simple omelet or fried eggs or jam with a few slices of bread and a banana), all of this for less than 6 dollars! I arrived quite early for check in and unfortunately wasn’t greatest by the happiest of staff. The hostel was in a great location, breakfast was great and you can book everything at the hostel for a very cheaper price (cheaper than most places in town). The rooms were clean, but unfortunately the beds were very hard !

no hot shower”
just stayed for a night..room was ok.bathroom could be cleaner. there was no hot shower in my room (standard double air)which was not good because it was rather cold when I was there. wifi speed was good since my room was located near the reception area. you can find better hotel with hot shower with the same price or even cheaper in luang prabang

ok for one night, small dormitory and just 3 shower for 50 people :) but you have breakfast and good wifi everywhere. It's ok for the price, especially in Luang Prabang !

Nice and silent place near the river”
The place had a pool table and a big chilling area to meet the others from the hostel. The prices for beer and shakes were kept low and the staff was quite helpful in pointing me out cheap bike and scooter rentals :) they also sell bus tickets on the minimum price ( I checked 7-8 more places). So just the quality of the pancakes for breakfast each day differed but this was ok. I had a very nice time in total!

Absolutely not worth it”
Our room had no windows, and we had no option of changing so it was dank, humid, musty and reeked of mildew and cleaning chemicals. We could see mildew and water damage on the walls. The bed was old and you could feel the springs poking through. The staff were apathetic at best, and I don't think it was because of the language barrier, they were disinterested and unhelpful. We have stayed at far nicer places in Luang Prabang for significantly less money. Don't waste your time with LPQ.

great budget hostel”
Great cheap hostel. Don't book in advance as it is cheaper on arrival 45000kip for dorm bed. The price includes breakfast. It is clean and cleaned throughout the day. The dorm has a/c and you are given a lock for your locker under your bed which is large. There is a pool table. The hostel is in a quiet area but close to night market and river. The only minus is that the staff speaks very little English.

The location is relatively close to the main attractions in the town. The room is clean and cozy. Food is great too. However, internet bandwidth is quite slow and some staff don't understand English.

Bedbugs!! ”
I booked online for 2 nights..... The first night I was staying in one of the double rooms in the first floor. There was no window and the air was terrible. It smelled musty... I asked if there is another room available and the next day I could change to one upstairs. First it looked better, because there was a window. But at night I found a bunch of bedbugs crawling around! Since there was nothing where I could have put my backpack besides the floor I left it on the other bed! I really hope that I won't be travelling with bedbugs now! The night was terrible... I couldn't really sleep with all the bugs. The next morning I went downstairs for breakfast and my next door neighbours (both sides) were talking about the bedbugs as well. So please don't go to LPQ Backpackers. When we told the woman at the reception about the problem, she didn't seem to really care! Even without the bedbugs, I don't understand why this place has such a high rating. It's not clean. The sanitary facilities are not well taken care of and the toilet flush doesn't work quite as it should and you will find "presents" from other guests.
