            Bit apprehensive when we turned off Nizwa highway as directed by GPS, however, after about 15 mins drive arrived and was very pleasantly surprised. Bar and food average but facilities and staff 1st class. Ideal base foe visiting Nizwa and mountains - 4x4 essential. Ask for room 1101(ideal), or1103, 1105 when booking.

            Nice wiev to the mountains
            The staff was very professional and the level of information was high . The location outside Nizwa is good if you want some rest and relaxion after the sightseing , the swimmingpool is OK . The room was fine , but we missed some chairs on the balcony and the TV is very old-fashioned .

            Great pool, nice rooms, lovely reception area, well kept gardens, friendly staff, food is average and the bar closes far too early but apart from that a great base for all the must sees in the area!

            Good hotel with great pool”
            Great pool which is 3m deep. Nice pub with reasonable prices coming from Dubai. Easy parking very peaceful and a short drive into town. Rooms decent size one we had you could walk directly out to the pool from. Nice reception on arrival with welcome drink, pretty interior. Breakfast was ok. All the guests seemed to be men except my wife the night we stayed.

            Very bad experience”
            Unfortunately it was very bad experience visiting staying at this hotel. Staff were not helpful. Housekeeping was not as it should be. Telephone has no directory numbers. Water is very expensive to be given to the guests for free. Room is extremely small. Breakfast was very good.

            The wine prices were too high. Elsewhere wine around OMR 12. For house. If alcohol was more reasonably priced you would sell much more

            Enjoyed the stay very much. We stayed together with another family with young kids in rooms that open towards interior/pool area - kids obviously loved to chill here during the off hours. Rooms/beds are on the smaller side also limiting amount of extra bedding that can be provided. Location is great when coming off the Mountain, but plan some extra driving time to get to down-town Nizwa. Breakfast variety and quality is good. Breakfast is conveniently served early to allow head start for morning activities :o)

            Its was really nice and pleasant stay at golden tulip nizwa. Place was easily accessible. Staffs were nice. The only negative I found was there's only one small elevator for the whole hotel, that too far away from the reception.

            Rooms view towards swimming pool are attractive, sufficient parking available, quiet place
            This hotel was my stopover while returning back from Salalah. I stayed in room no. 237. Corridor around my room were hot, I requested them but no action was taken. Request for prayer matt even took hours. worst/poor service

            Value for money, staff, facilities
            The staff at the Golden Tulip work really hard to make your stay there a great experience. For Oman, where most hotels open to foreigners are very expensive, the Golden Tulip offers great value. It has a lovely pool, which when the summer is on, is the best place to cool down. There is also a variety of bars, where you can have soft or alcoholic drinks - again not always available in Oman. The food, especially the curries, is great - in the evening the tandoor is working and the best curries are on offer. Definitely a great place to stay to visit Nizwa, Jebel Akhdar or Jebel Shams

            We spent there 2 nights; hotel located on the outskirts of Nizwa, quiet place, clean and spacious rooms, very friendly and open staff, nice swimming pool and gym. Pleasant place to stay after whole day hiking.

            Taxi Paid Out”
            After 2 hours long drive from the airport. I did not have any cash to pay for the taxi, I kindly asked the reception if they can pay him on my room and reservation bill. they said it is not possible and have to go to an ATM. This is the first time I face this in all of my trips in the region. Adding Taxi bill to the guest room should not be that complicated especially when you are coming from a different country without money. After speaking to the manager in duty and waiting for more time. they approved to pay the taxi with additional 4 OMR extra as credit card fees which is too much but I had to . I was not happy with my experience at the hotel

            The staff was exceedingly pleasant and the location was excellent relative to Jebel Akhdar. The food menu could be improved but if / when I visit Jebel Akhdar again, I plan to stay here.

            Great service and accommodating of our requests. The hotel is comfortable too and was a convenient stop on the way to Jabal Akhdar. However not so convenient if you want to discover Nizwa.

            Middle of nowhere”
            It is quite far away from Nizwa souq (about 15 mins drive) and there is nowhere to eat around the hotel. The food in the hotel is not bad but very expensive. We went to Nizwa centre to have breakfast.
