This is really an old classy hotel with a beautiful lobby but unfortunately the bldg needs to be updated because of bugs in the bldg. reviews also mentioned bugs. They did change my room however.

The hotel is ok for the money paid but . It could be a great plaxce to stay if it would not be so run down. It was clean and ok but it seems that the best years of the hotel were already over since several years

According to the price they are charging for a superior class they should provide a LED/LCD television instead of a 90's obsolete model of Toshiba which does not even function properly.The cafe area does not have an access with an elevator so its pretty difficult to get to climb down the stairs whose on a wheelchair.Been a 5 star hotel it is expected to have all the facilities.

Jaded and Faded Hotel in desparate need for Invesment and Imrovement”
A lovely hotel which seems to have been starved of investment for upgrading and modernising.Looks very jaded and staff are not very committed or helpful in comparison with other hotels in Bangkok. It suggests that the owners should invest capital and shake up poor management or sell it to a better hotel group to restore hotel to its former glory. It is sad to see the deterioration in what was a great hotel.

Outdated rooms Shower did not work properly. ”

Staff are not trained with poor manor. They are not 5stars standard at all. Reception counter are very impolite, catering staff are not helpful. Despite the value of this stay, it could still be better spent at else-where for a better experience.

Large rooms , Good beds, Great service, Excellent food, Quite and Beautiful location. Shuttle service to several location and BTS stations. The place can use a little face lift, it looks tired. some minor maintenance, cleaning windows and a paint job will do wonders for that place. The bacon at breakfast is terrible, thin like paper (shaved), hard like rock and nooooo taste.

Thailand Family Christmas ”
My 5th visit to Thailand... Agoda had a great deal for the right price I was looking for in Bangkok. Location, I was looking for a beautiful view of the river and Bangkok skyline both day and night. BUT, the hotel is located in an isolated area where it's cut off from everything. It doesn't allow you to walk to any other locations to shop or grab something to eat other than the hotel's great restaurants, which is pricey when you're with a family of four. The hotel does offer shuttle rides at a given time to allow you take the Skyline and Metro into other areas of Bangkok. Other than that your at the mercy of taxis that are always standing by to take you wherever you want to go. The hotel and area is not "Family Friendly" as far as doing fun stuff in and around the area, great place to stay and chill (eat, sleep, shower, and rest), that said, if your looking for fancy, this is the place, its not bad, but if your looking for cheap, you can do it at a $40 hotel in Bangkok for less.

Verry Verry Bad and Old hotel I ever live.”
It's very Old, Dirty and dusty hotel. There's not enough facility. Drinking water is charge 100 bath/bottle but free water are placed in the toilet. Air conditioner can't control you will only verry cool and hot. The staffs are not good service in anyway. They don't mine and spirit to work and not polite. This hotel is only for Chinese traveler and tour. It's my first time here and last time for me. It shouldn't be 5 stars hotel. It should be 1 star hotel instead. In sum only 1 thing is good. It's View. If you don't mine what I said you can stay here but for me never. Good luck.

Excellent hotel.”
This hotel was recommended by a friend who lives nearby. Although the hotel is normally out of my price range, then had a big discount, so a room was booked. All the staff were excellent, the food was very good, with a wide selection available for breakfast. No problems with wifi or TV. Overall, a great experience.

A spacious hotel with nice staff but it's old and far away from city center”
Plus, electricity was not stable on the 2nd night I stayed there. It's on and off several times and produced scary sounds. They fixed it but it still made me sleepless the whole night.

The old charm but still great hospitality ”
Big room with nice view of the river, comfy bed, very clean. Fabulous breakfast offers. Nice pool. Staffs are very nice and willing to help. Big bathroom with generous toiletry kits for us (including toothbrush!). This is the old school charm - the hotel itself may soon needed the update through out the facility. Overall, good experience staying there.

The hotel overall is good but i have some concerns about the quality of the room, i don’t understand when you book over agooda or other apps they gave you the worst rooms in the hotel , First night i arrive the room was horrible. Old furniture, dirty bed covers , the toilet door can’t be locked , i called agooda for the cancellation which i booked for 3 nights , after all i made a complaint to hotel management about the room , they upgraded me to better room , i was happy about that and I enjoyed my rest of nights over all the staff are very friendly and helpful.

Great Hotel”
Montien Riverside Hotel was just fabulous and the service was impeccable. There are so many areas where you can dine and the food was fabulous. The breakfast buffet offered a fantastic choice, from cereals, nuts & dried fruits, sushi, English breakfast, American breakfast, Asian dishes of meat, fish & vegetarian, many different types of breads, cold meats, egg station, beautifully cut & arranged fruit, delicious patisserie, yummy cakes and more - great choice. The lounge was lovely and the bar served great cocktails. We stayed in a corner room on the 25th floor and the view was breath taking, both in the evening and at sunrise. Everything in the room was just perfect. The bathroom was large and had great toiletries. The room service and maid service was amazing. Just loved the little touches like, in the evening orchids were placed on the bed. The hotel was a little far from the centre, but there was a regular shuttle bus which drops you in various places and also picks you up. That was a great service. - [ ] We stayed at Montien Riverside Hotel for my 60th Birthday. The front office manager, Mr George, and customer relations manager, Anny, made my birthday extra special. Beautiful flowers were put in my room and a beautiful chocolate cake, with candles, was delivered to my room by 7 members of staff who surprised me and sang happy birthday. Thank you everyone at Montien Hotel and we will definitely return.

Terrible service from staff and not centrally located”
The hotel was clean and had satisfactory facilities, however it is not centrally located so getting around bangkok is more difficult from here. In addition, the service from the staff was terrible - the staff got involved with a dispute with a taxi driver and took the driver's side without hearing what we had to say - as guests of the hotel we subsequently discussed this incident with the hotel manager and she interrogated us to the extent that we felt we had to leave the hotel 2 days early. In addition, the hotel refused to give us a refund.

Chinese Tour Group Hotel”
This hotel is basically way past its prime, and now caters for Chinese tour groups. Whilst the tour groups themselves were fairly pleasent people and in no way caused any inconvenience for me, it should be noted that these large tour groups do nothing to add to the atmosphere of the hotel. It is just a fact that such groups have different needs to independant western tourists and enjoy the facilities differently (if at all). So, the pool area lacks any charm, and mostly it was deserted. Around the pool area I saw some dilapidated and out of use Tennis Courts- a relic from the hotels former glory days? The view was completely obscurred by the filthy windows. It was really the first time I notice such dirty windows in any hotel that I can recall. All in all, I would not stay there again.
