Great spot for the night ahead of a quick Visa run”
Came to Ranong to do a visa run, and really happy to have stayed at Luang Poj. The friendly staff mapped out our trip into Myanmar the next day and onward travel all the way to Koh Tao. They also had some great suggestions for food, and we managed to find a great place just a 5 minute walk away with live music. WIth more time, probably would have spent a couple of extranights here. Had an awesome experience!

clean, artistic, and air conditioning!”
our stay at the hotel was for an in between time before we went to one of the local islands. the rooms are well built and quite clean. orginally we were told we were going to be getting a fan room and when we arrived we were given a room with a/c! the purple room was great. our first time we took a taxi out we did it through the drowsy rabbit looking front desk guy who we feel ripped us off by us paying him 200 baht for the pair of us for a ride to the pier. when we arrived t the pier, the taxi guy charged the 3rd guy in our ride 60 baht. it just bothered us. when we came back from our island trip and wanted a place to hold on to our bags for the day before our bus came, we went back to this hotel and ran in to the owner who was a great guy and held onto our stuff and allowed us to use the facilities free of charge for the day. very nice owner who cares very much for his work and building a quality hostel. would recommend staying there, best hostel in ranong. just watch out for a guy that looks like a sleepy rabbit.

Pleasant layover ”
Nicely styled retro/vintage chic hostel. Convenient location for mini markets, shops and restaurants in central Ranong. Communal areas upstairs very pleasant and clean. Hot water and kettle downstairs. Rooms lack windows but fine if you're only sleeping there. Within walking distance of decent restaurant (Farmhouse and Sunny Side Up) and travel agent (Pon's Place). Short walk to hot spa (free!) or bus station if you don't mind crossing a main road. Ranong not much to look at, more a transit town, but this hostel is great if you're passing through, especially if you get it at a discounted price, off season.

Comfortable and very accommodating”
Our experience at Luang Poj Hostel was just what we needed. The facilities were very clean and our bedroom was quite comfortable with decent soundproofing. We would definitely visit again.

Good deal hostel.”
We arrived from Phuket by bus and this stopped really away from the hostel so you have to get a songthaw to the market area and then walk five minutes. The hostel room was clean as well the shared bathroom. Ranong is a small city but the street where the hostel is located seams to be the main one for tourist aiming to go to Kho Phayam, so you can find there some places for dining or having a coffee. We you are ready to head to Phayam you can catch a moto taxi for to the pier which may be located a couple of kilometres away. There are no money changer stalls, we were told that to get baht we have to change money at the banks.

2nd visit, still a great cheap hotel.”
We really like this little hotel on the main road in Ranong, its on the road of the sunday night market which is really good. The hotel is very modern with a shabby chic theme and the shared bathrooms are spotless and stylish. The staff are helpful but a little bit clumsy, for example, they take your passport for half an hour to verify your visa but when we came down to collect it the guy was asleep and our passport was on the reception desk next to the door onto the main street, it could have easily been taken! But apart from that we were really pleased with the hotel and would definitely stay again.

Suprisingly nice hostel”
Although Ranong isn't the nicest place this hostel was great! We booked air con at the same price as fan but there is no air con, the rooms are perfect, clean, modern and very shabby chic, and the shared bathrooms are clean and also very stylish with very little use as there were only 2 or 3 rooms being used when we stayed. I will definitely go back for my next visa run

Very comfortable, great for visa run”
We stayed for one night so we could organise an extra 15 day visa. The staff helped us organise this and made it very easy for us. We were not looking foward to sharing a bathroom but they were so clean and I think we were the only ones staying there at the time. Staff gave me the wifi password without even having to ask for it and they were so friendly - helping us find a place for dinner. It was wet season so was great that we didn't have to go far to find food =) great one night stay - Not too much in Ranong but perfect for what we needed. They have also decorated it very funky! Each room has different theme. Very cool.

Great option to spend one night in Ranong”
Very nice room (Ventilator with window) close to the market. The staff is very helpful and can arrange tickets to Ko Phayam. If you want to spend one night in Ranong it is perfect.

I already reviewed this hotel!!! ”
Please stop asking Me to do over reviews that I have already done!!! Do You not bother to check this before demanding them? Apparently not! in the future I will just ignore Your annoying, persistent emails, and just keep deleting them until You finally give up!!! and I only selected family fun so I can send this. The only thing in My opinion that Ranong is good for is a place to get a room to help with visa run, and/or making sure to be on time for the Train from Chumpon to Bangkok

Great renovated heritage hostel”
Best of a budget stay. Best location on the small main street of Ranong town, surrounded by interesting colonial architecture and vintage shop fittings. Great renovation of an original terrace building, cement spaces downstairs and hardwood upstairs. My clean and cozy room has windows that open out with nice street view. There aren't no mosquito net on the windows though, so not a good idea to keep them opened at night. Shared bathroom facility is also clean and well maintained. I would highly recommend this place.

Simple, relaxing, friendly.”
I stayed at Luang Poj for three nights and used it as a departure point for explorations to the jungle and especially the hot springs in the area. The room was simple, but the staff there was willing to help us out in anyway he could to make us feel comfortable. This is really just a simple hotel in the middle of the city, but cheap and clean.

One of the Nicest Hotels”
i was planning to stay for just one night, but the atmosphere was so good i decided to stay another night.the wifi is great to have as well.the hostel in between the market/songtao-bus depot/center of town, and my favorite local (so far)coffee shop which is called dd coffee and has a very skinny wig wam/tee pee in front,as well as a wooden chief inside by the cash register!

OK for a one night stay”
The hostel is very nicely restored and carefully preserved, featuring a nice design and everything is sparkling clean, including the common bathrooms and showers. The room is nice as well but very noisy since its windows face a heavily trafficked street topped by a fan, so I wouldn't recommend it for longer stays. For a night though, as we stayed, it's been a good option for about 16 euros as it's close to many restaurants and shops, as well to different public transportation stops which made it easy to reach it from the bus station and to go for the pier. The stuff is very helpful and nice.

Nice artistic place”
Good budget hotel in the city center. All the rooms are decorated differently. Very clean. Friendly staff. A great option for those who stay for a couple of days. In the morning it is noisy, but in day time very quietly. Good wifi.

Nice clean hotel/hostel and very central location”
This is an old hotel that has been totally remodeled as a budget hotel. Very nice, quirky decor. Fun place to stay. The shared restrooms, showers and basin areas are well done and clean. Really like this addition to Ranong hotels.

Great place for a couple of nights”
Lovely, quirky place. Not really what I expected in Ranong but it did the job for a couple of nights. Very good location for taxis etc. Plenty of shops and restaurants near. Friendly staff who tried their best to communicate in English! Free wi-fi worked well.

Very good hostel”
It's not a hotel. But that said, it's a pretty nice hostel. The windowless rooms are a bit claustrophobic. But the upside is that they're quiet, insulated from street noise. Shared toilets are very clean and nice. Wifi is super slow (got better service on my phone). Very nice staff and shared facilities. A pretty good value if you're looking for a place in town.
