Beautiful setting and great service”
The location of this hotel is lovely, set on a hill just outside the town with amazing views of the town and surrounding mountains. The hotel is quite new so our room was very comfortable and in good condition. The staff were all fantastic, particularly the general manger, and they went out of their way to ensure we had a great stay. Despite the level of English varying between staff, all our requests were dealt with very promptly (perhaps because the hotel didn't seem particularly full while we were there) and they were very happy to assist with restaurant reservations, arranging tuk tuks for day trips etc. We didn't use the infinity pool as it was a little cold (and there is so much else to do and see in Luang Prabang so we didn't spend a lot of time at the hotel) but it looked lovely. The gym was small but well equipped, and wi-fi was provided free in the rooms. The free shuttle bus to town was very handy given the hotel is a little out of the way, however the last shuttle bus returning to the hotel leaves at 9.15pm, which made it a bit rushed when eating dinner in town - a bus leaving at 10pm would have been ideal although it was easy enough to get a tuk tuk back to the hotel. The food at the hotel was decent, although not as good as equivalent hotels in other countries, and food and drinks were very expensive (same price you would pay at 5 star hotels elsewhere in the world, but when compared with top restaurants in the town it seemed a bit overpriced for Laos). As there are a lot of fantastic restaurants to choose from in Luang Prabang we didn't end up eating at the hotel other than breakfast. All in all we had a great stay - Luang Prabang is a fantastic place and we would definitely choose to stay at the Shinta Mani again if we return to Luang Prabang.
A real gem in Luang Prabang”
We stayed at the Luang Prabang View Hotel as part of a long weekend to celebrate a 60th birthday. The grounds are very well kept and the property resides on a hill with wonderful views over Luang Prabang and the surrounding hills. We received a complimentary room upgrade to a terrace room and this was just perfect with the views over the town and the misty hills beyond. We ate on several occasions in the restaurant and cafe/bar as well as enjoying the breakfast provided with the accommodation. The food was really very good with nice sized portions. The staff were very polite and helpful. We have to give a special mention to Tanum in guest relations who was very helpful and insightful with his suggestions and comments regarding what was available in Luang Prabang, as well as being delightful person to chat with during our stay. He is a real asset to the hotel and is always able to help out or provide suggestions or answer guests' questions. We had a wonderful stay, highly recommended.
Wonderful hotel with the best service!”
We stayed at the Luang Prabang View Resort for 5 nights with smaller children while visiting sights in the area and we loved every minute of our stay! The hotel is a little outside the center of town (about 10 min by car/15 minutes by tuk-tuk) and it was a perfect quiet location to get a little away from the dusty streets. The hotel is modern design, well laid out and the rooms are cool and airy. Beds were really good with nice crisp and white linens, good comforters and pillows and the bathroom is big and well-equipped with toiletries and big, soft towels. The pool area is on top of the hill with a view all over Luang Prabang area. Great place to hang out and rest after a day of sightseeing or shopping in the area. There is a decent gym and a really nice spa with good massages and very friendly staff. The restaurants are really good! The food was excellent quality and well-prepared. Some of the best food we had while in Laos! Our kids looked forward to every meal! The staff was super friendly and nice and went out of their way to assist and please us. They took such good care of our kids and did everything to make them feel at home. One night they even let them stay in the bar to watch TV and walked them back to our room later. We will for sure go back there another time. Very nice stay! Only thing to remark is that the hotel is not suitable for people who do not walk well. There are many stairs all over the hotel.
Amazing staff, stunning views and an all round great experience”
Our stay at Luang Prabang View Hotel was incredible. From the moment we walked and even after we had checked out, we were made to feel like royalty, the service was impeccable! A special mention to one of the managers, Mee, a real helpful and friendly guy. As this stay was for my girlfriend's birthday, I asked I the hotel if it was possible to do something special...towels shaped like swans, rose petals all over the bed and a bath also filled with petals, she loved it. They even left her a cake in the room on her birthday with a personalised message! As it is right up on the hillside, walking to the main market takes about 25 minutes but the hotel runs a shuttle service to and from it every hour, really useful! The 360 degree views from the infinity pool are amazing, we spent most of our afternoons there! Only negative was that the standard rooms are near a main road and a karaoke bar so sitting on the balcony at night was a little noisy. This is not the hotels fault though
..set on a hill 10 minutes out of town with great views of the surrounding valley, Luang Prabang town and distant mountains. There are many good hotels and guest houses in the town but they will have smaller rooms and no fantastic infinity pool! This makes for a great place to relax after a day trip on the Mekong or wandering around the delightful town which is full of charm and ambiance. The hotel is modern with a simple decor; the entry-level bedrooms are at a lower level and so do not have very good views. The room we were first shown overlooked the boundary wall with glass on top and a scruffy plot next door. We moved to the next level up and this room was more spacious and had a great view of the sunset over the distant misty mountains. Breakfast on the balcony of the restaurant was very pleasant and the food good. We did not use the restaurant at night as there are so many excellent places to choose from in town. The hotel runs a regular comfortable shuttle bus to town but the last return bus when we were there was 2115hrs which makes for a rush after dinner. A tuk-tuk in town is always available for the return trip ($5) but make sure you get one with a powerful enough engine to get back up the hill! My wife used the health Spa for a massage and enjoyed it. Of course the real plus point is the amazing infinity pool which offers 360degree views of the surrounding mountains as you soak in the water. Mid-February is in the Dry Season and so the countryside can be a little dry and dusty in places and there is smoke from the bush fires- but this does add a certain misty mystery to the scenery. Temperatures when we were there were very pleasant: hot during the day and cooler in the evening. Staff as nearly everywhere in SE Asia are helpful and courteous at all times - almost too much bowing and greeting! Two minor criticisms: the pool area needs more shade and we would prefer a ceiling fan in the bedroom rather than use air-conditioni
Fantastic experience - already planning our next!”
We had an excellent stay at the Luang Prabang View Hotel - from being collected at the airport in a fairly plush minivan, receiving an upgraded suite so we could check-in early, feeling like we were the only people at the resort by how quiet it was and how attentive the staff were, and access to great facilities with the gym and pool. The Christmas Eva Gala dinner was certainly something special - the food and entertainment were amazing, and even my anti-Gala boyfriend enjoyed the experience! We're looking forward to seeing John and the team again in February as a reward for our 460km bike trip up from Vientiane!
We booked at this hotel for five nights knowing we were in Luang Prabang for 9. On the second day we quickly realized this was perfect for our needs and extended our booking. We have travelled to many countries and have never had better care and service. The management and staff are extremely professional, friendly and efficient. The rooms, are clean, the pool is huge, the view phenomenal, the food excellent. The staff prioritized our comfort and enjoyment in every way, eg they arranged excellent tours for no extra cost. Luang Prabang is a living treasure and this hotel helps to make it so.
Wonderful service in a beautiful setting”
We loved our stay at the Luang Prabang View Resort. The staff were extremely attentive and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed at all times. The shuttle into town was convenient, and every morning we enjoyed a delicious breakfast that was tailored to our preferences (not buffet style). The room felt like a small apartment and was always clean. You really can't beat the views here either as the hotel is nestled atop a hill that is surrounded by the the gorgeous mountains. It's a perfect spot especially for those who plan to relax at the resort and not always be right in town.
I stayed in room 215 booking through agoda between 28th October and 3rd November. From the beginning I felt really welcome. The staff are so genuinely welcoming and friendly. Had a lovely room and nice mountain view from the balcony. The bed was slightly harder than I'm used to so they put a thin soft mattress on top. Everything was perfect! They couldn't do enough to help. The view from the swimming pool is stunning and the breakfast adding service was first class. I'd been on a business trip in China so was looking for a relaxing destination and that's exactly what I got. The fact the hotel is slightly out of town is a plus and the shuttle provided efficient and punctual. By the way Luang prabang is probably the nicest place I've visited in Asia. Highly recommend this hotel and regard it as my home away from home.. I'll definitely be back!
Staff extremely efficient and helpful. John, the General Manager even organized a complimentary shuttle to fetch us from the Golf Club!. Amazing view and probably the biggest swimming pool in Luang Prabang. We would definately recommend Luang Prabang View Hotel.
great hotel with amazing pool”
We stayed for 3 nights at Shinta Mani and were really satisfied with everything. the deluxe room we stayed in had a terrace with a view of the luang prabang hills. the service was very nice however the pool service was sometimes not attentive as the hotel is newly open and doesnt host many ppl yet. there is a shuttle to the town and also a pick up from town which is really convenient. the pool is amazing, have never had a better pool in any hotel. all in all highly recommended.
Heaven in Luang Prabang”
we booked a stay here for 2 nights and ended up staying 5, it was that great. the superior rooms have incredible views of the luang prabang town and valley. the sunsets are beautiful. the infinity pool is the nicest pool i've ever seen. the staff is extremely helpful. each day the room cleaning staff would get our room into pristine condition and refill the complimentary minibar. the breakfasts were delicious! try the french toast, the eggs florentine, and the eggs benedict. the shuttle bus into town was very convenient. we also used the bikes which were fun.
Fantastic hotel, will definitely be returning”
our driver had some trouble finding the hotel as it is situated a little out of town on a hilltop and was quite new when we went. when we arrived, the very friendly and helpful front desk staff upgraded us to a suite. the room we were given was enormous and impecably finished. there was a huge balconey so we often had our breakfast delivered to the room and ate it outside overlooking luang prabang. there is a shuttle to go into town or it isn't that far to walk or cycle once you get your bearings. the swimming pool is so incredible, though, you may not want to leave the hotel. it's especially nice to go for a sunset swim and enjoy a cocktail or two.
Stunning views and fantastic rooms makes for the perfect getaway”
If you're looking for the perfect visit to Luang Prabang but want to enjoy a gorgeous pool with stunning views then Luang Prabang View is the hotel for you. Great service throughout and rooms are spacious with incredible views all round.
hotel sits on top of a hill which is unique for luang prabang. most rooms--deluxe in our case--have good view of the city below. the hotel is fairly new (opened about 2 years) and the rooms, swimming pool, restaurant and internet lounge are nicely designed and clean. the modern open bathroom layout is slightly a problem for some of us in the family but overall it is manageable. being new and on a high elevation, the hotel still have teething problems to address. water supply was cut off for few hours on our last day and water pressure is unstable. my mother who is 80+ yrs old found the bathroom floor too slippery with no items to hold onto on the walls. we enjoyed the swimming pool, which has a good view and the coffee/internet lounge. good place to relax. staff and managers are friendly and responsive and we would like to thank mr. ek kingsada among others who make us feel at home and was helpful prior and during our stay.
Had a great stay at this hotel. Views of Luang Prabang fantastic. Staff could not do enough for you. Only problem was not enough shuttles into central Luang Prabang. But we're accommodating getting us downtown outside hours of shuttle.
Wow what an amazing experience. The view around the pool looks over all of Luang Prabang with great little pool bar . Sunsets are what dreams are made of . Our room was large and clean . The food was delicious and we would come back to this hotel. Peter and Tania Australia
We felt like we were staying in a chateau or castle, looking over the ramparts to a vista of Luang Prabang town. John and his delightful team of staff made us feel very welcome and handled every request, no matter how small, with efficiency and warmth. The hotel is a great escape from the tourist frenzy of the area (we stayed during a particularly busy time of year). Food and facilities are just what is needed. Well done all!
Great location, nice small rooms friendly service”
from the beginning i felt good in thos hotel. the staff is very friendly and always ready to help. this hotel is around 4 km from the center od luang prabang. every two hours you ahve a transport service from and to the hotel. the food in the restaurant is quiet overpriced. the breakfast is very good. for all persons who want to have a good massage, the spa is a good option eventhough it is quiet expensive. but the service is excellent.for people who like to be active with physical training, they can use the small but good gym and also a stadium in the neighborhood.
great experience ”
The staff is nice, rooms are spacious, big swimming pool with great view over Luang Prabang. A bit far from the old district (about 3.5km) but no problem to us since we have the car
