Convenient & Reasonably Priced”
This is my second time stayed at Lub D silom Hostel, I got the information from my good friend who stayed here before. I must say that I am impressed with the quality and everything else is just seem to be up to par what I would consider as great hostel. Impressive design & architecture, minimalistic modern with industrial feels to it. I stayed in their deluxe room, so I barely experience the dormitory style rooms that hey have on the 2nd & 3rd floor of the building. Deluxe room has amenities like you were staying in a hotel room with the fraction of the price you normally pay - that's brilliant! I chose Lub D on my first stay back in February 2016 due to easy trip, 3 days only and serve the purpose as a place to sleep in, shower and store your luggages. On my second trip in April 2016, I chose Lub D Silom because I want to experience Sogkran - the water festival in Thailand. I reckon it will be perfect location since most of the festivities will be held in Silom area but it is proven to be quite a stretch since the actual water splashing took place in Silom nearby Saladaeng BTS station (about 1 kilometer away) from Lub D Hostel Silom. Food quality wise in the hostel I found overpriced, portion was small and taste could be improved. I ordered their thai chicken basil & rice, it cost me Baht 100 yet the portion is very small, while in the market or at the hawker food market (nearby the hotel) would only cost you maximum Baht 50 with much bigger portion and better flavor. I supposed they try not to run a business restaurant indeed. For the all day western breakfast menu selection seem to be safe option, since they provide packages of cereal, croissant, banana, milk etc. with better value in my opinion. The other facility provided in the hostel that I found quite convenient are: laundromat/dryer and storage of your luggage in their premise up to 2 months. Means you can travel lite and should you wish to explore the regions, you just need to carry your essentials. T

Best Hostel in Bangkok with amazing facilities”
lub d is a hip and modern hostel in the silom area of bangkok. its about a 5-8 minute walk to the center of silom's nightlife (soi 2 & 4, patpong). although it is located on a quiet off street there are many stores such as 7-eleven and restaurants located on the main street. the bts station is also about a 5-10 minute walk. the hostel itself is fun! it has that modern concrete feel to it but filled with all the right features like maps and travel books, things to do in the area, a bar and pseudo restaurant, communal tables, sofas, outside tables and chairs, etc. it feels like a college dorm lobby with a hip and fun kick to it. the restrooms are big and clean and the showers are hot and amazing water pressure. theres washer/dryers/ironing station. the rooms are clean and there are personal closets that can be locked. bring your own lock & key because it is not provided. the staff is also fun who put on activities and events for the guests. while i was there they were having a dinner night in chinatown. the turn out was about 20 people and it ended up being a fun night with many of us ending up on khao san road. if you are looking for a true hostel experience, of sharing traveling stories and meeting fun people while staying in a clean hip hostel for 10 bucks a night, then this place is perfect!

Great Value Hostel in BKK”
Being a regular visitor to BBK every year, during my stay [Lub D silom] will always be my first choice. It's a clean and comfort hostel to meet up guys all around the world. Great location with BTS Chong Nongsi Station. Easy access to China town and Siam Square as well. Outside the hostel there's local markets and street foods, yum !!! Nearby you can find 2 shops 7-11 easily, not to mention there's also a money exchange called SUPER RICH. The staff are also being very kind and friendly, especially the one called Rung is very helpful, you'll going to love the Thai smile on her face. By the way, it’s she told me Lub D means sleep well in Thai. So, don't miss it while you visit Bangkok :)

Amazing hostel. ”
Not only is the location extremely close to Chong Nonsi train station, but it is walking distance to everything you need as well! The BEST Thai food I've had during my 1.5 months in Thailand was eaten less than five minutes from the hostel. It is walking distance to the Pier, although this walk will take 20-30 minutes. There is a Dean & Deluca nearby, if you want your Western fix. The staff is exceptional - Simon and his employees are AMAZING. I wish they ran every hostel on earth! The bathrooms are immaculate, the rooms are cleaned often, the decor is gorgeous, it has a great social atmosphere, towels and bed linens are provided, air conditioner is strong. The hostel is always spotless, they do an amazing job of keeping it quiet late at night even when we're being drunken bafoons, and the vibes are A1!! As a solo traveler, it only took one question ("do you know where I can buy liquor?") and friends were made. I ended up partying across several islands with Lub D travelers, and ended up traveling for a month with the people I met at Lub D, and I'll soon be visiting them in other countries too. Definitely made some lifelong buddies! The wifi can be spotty but it's nothing major. Anyway, Lub D is amazing.

Beste hostel in Bangkok”
Had an amazing stay and was sad to leave. Met some great people there, the atmosphere was perfect. Everyone was getting along great and if you wanted to you could party, drink and go out, but if you wouldn't feel like it you could just chill and hang out with everyone at the hostel. Also very well cleaned and a lot of space in both bedrooms and bathrooms. Soap and shampoo are provided in the showers. Free drinking water available and free popcorn every night! Also free access to computers and you can do your laundry for a very cheap price (30 baht, which is approximately 0,75 cents). Also, there is a bar in the main area where you can get softdrinks, beers, buckets and snacks. If I ever come back to Bangkok I will definitely go back to Lub D Silom, such a great vibe there. They asked me for comments so they could be even better, but I couldn't think of 1 thing. So yeah, I seriously recommend staying here.

This is truly Flashpacker!”
Really enjoyed my stay at the original LubD. Although the Siam Square location is right next to MRT station and in a more happening "upmarket" area, i felt the Silom location has slightly more spacious and comdortable rooms and bathroom as well as the price is a few dollars (USD) less than a dorm bed in Siam Sq. The main lobby space is very cheerful and inviting with lots of socializing. I was very impressed with the spotlessly clean bathrooms, great wifi, and friendly and helpful staff. Loved that there is Laundry and a tv room. Its a coin laundry but its not expensive and you can buy a min pack of detergent at the front desk. The cons are that its a slight walking distance (5-8 min?) to the closest MRT stop and the street is not well lit on some portions. So take care. There was an occasional stray dog in the dark that barked crazily at me so i felt safer carrying a sun umbrella around. The location felt far when i was dragging my suitcase to Lub D silom but it was fine once i got used to it. There is a GREAT foot massage place on the corner of Silom and the Street of CHong Nonsi MRT station .

Great location and service”
i have to say i am impressed by lub d bankok silom hostel. when i arrived early at 4 am, i couldnot check in because every bed was booked. but the staff there was so nice, considering i was totally exhausted and new to the city, they actually let me stay in the small theatre for free. i took a shower, got changed and started my trip there. i am very greatful to their kindness. plus, lud d is near the chong nasi station of the bts, so it is very convinient to go around. of course, i met several new friends there, another great thing happend in lub. d!

a hostel on the zeitgeist”
i found the right place at the right time with this one gem. they brought me in with warm smiles and demeanors and as a result i chilled comfortably in the university-esque trendy lobby, had a beer and chatted with a very agreeable bartender, stayed there happily until a guy who was scouting hostels in the area sat down with me and began swapping ideas for the ultimate hostel. we were so content with the ambience of lub d that our ideas encapsulated much of what the place had already layed down in front of us, inspiring a riotous night on the town, which nearby was conveniently very lively and a perfect complement to the aforementioned time in lub d. that night i slept soundly in my dorm, knowing that i was safe in my keycard-secured room and everyone around me felt safe too. the beautifully big and comfy bed made it even better. i loved brushing my teeth in the morning, as pedestrian as it seems, because i felt like i was in an earthship/sunroom, giving myself a tastier mouth in, once more, a spacious yet accomodating contemporary haven while warming up for the bright day ahead.

Trendy, hip”
Lub d was a very trendy hostel with lots of foreign backpackers. The room appeared super clean until we went to lay down the first night. We were in a Railway Twin which had two bed in a bunk style. The side of the top bunk was plastered with dried boogers. it was very disgusting, and the front desk didn't even send a maid to change the sheets. Instead, sheets were given for us to change. Since we didn't want to touch the boogered sheets, we just laid the clean one on top. Other than that mishap, our stay at Lub d met our expectations. There were 6 computers with Internet access in the front lobby. If you needed to print, it was 10 baht per page. The entire lobby and front porch is set up for socializing and trip planning. The hotel provided maps with main attractions, which was very helpful. Staff was English speaking and friendly. The bathroom had ample toilet and shower stalls. A hair dryer in the bathroom was also nice. Bathroom was always well stocked with liquid soap, shampoo, toilet paper, and paper towels.

Great hostel, but Skytrain & nightlife long walk. ”
It is hard not to like the Lub D hostel. During my stay there, the place was rather empty, so that fun “hostel vibe” of connecting with fellow travelers was not there. But that is due more to the floods scaring away many travelers. The hostel is very close to the Patpong red light district (and the co-located Patpong night market, if you need an alibi!). I traveled here from the Banglamphu area of Bangkok (Khao San Road) via tuk-tuk. If you’re in a similar situation, tell the driver to take you to Patpong to make matters simpler. I had trouble communicating where I wanted to go, even with the use of the map. Only after I had arrived there did I realize how close the hostel was to Patpong. This area of Bangkok was the quietest of the three places I stayed during my time in the huge city. That’s not saying much though. The décor is heavy on the concrete. The walls and floors are all concrete. Some may feel that this place resembles a bunker or a dungeon, but I really liked it. The big hit with me though was the bathrooms. Very modern, hot showers, and kept very clean (as were all places in the hotel). You will not see a bathroom like this in other hostels---and that is a very good thing. You have to see it to believe it. Uber-modern! I stayed in a room meant for two people, but I had it to myself because the place was not full. The beds are already made for you, so there is no need to fiddle with the sheets, pillow cases, etc, so that is a real boon if you arrive late when others are sleeping.

Work its charms”
My first stay at lub d silom and instantly fall in love with it, a nicely decorated hostel with warm ambiance and staffs. Sufficient for any discerning travellers, location wise it is very convenient and close proximity to the night market where you can get good taste of thai culinary and adventure of the night spots in Bangkok. Close to Chong Nonsi BTS station, easy for any travellers whom prefer taking a walk rather than stuck in a traffic jam during the rush hour.

Nice location next to the business district. ”
I have previously stayed at the Siam Square Lub D location so I had high hopes when coming in to stay here. They both have the same great customer service and fluent English speakers to help out the guests. Of course the rOoms are very clean along with the bathrooms. This location is less expensive than the Siam location due to the quantity of bunk beds per room. As a woman I stayed in both the mixed dorm room and th ladies dorm room at the Lub D Silom location. I was sharing a mixed dorm with another girlfriend and a male friend, but I would have to say if I were traveling alone than I wouldn't feel as comfortable staying in the mixed dorm. I would definitely choose the ladies. However when we switched to the ladies dorm, it is on the top fourth floor so it is extremely hot when you enter the room. The air conditioner has to work really hard to cool the room down and it can take up to an hour and a half to bring the temp down to a comfortable level. Also I had a top bunking the ladies dorm which is about thirteen feet off the floor which is a little scary. Just be careful! Also, the sun shines early through a skylight in my particular ladies dorm, a 10 bed dorm, so rise and shine. But really though you can't beat the price. Oh! It is about a 8 mins walk from the nearest BTS station, Chong Nonsi.

My home away from home!”
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Lub D! I have been in and out of Lub D since arriving in Southeast asia and it continues to serve as my "home base" for whenever I am in Thailand! I have a good relationship with the staff and I honestly think that that is one of the best things about staying at this hostel. If you aren't blown away by how clean the hostel is, the customer service surely will. The staff love to sit down with travelers and talk and get to know each other. Special mention goes to talking to Jean, Sherin, and Bee! 10/10 would recommend if you are looking for a place away from Central or Khao San

Amazing Hospitality ”
Lub D Bangkok Silom is worth the stay for any backpackers. Cleanliness is amazing, the setting itself exudes a vintage feel and computers are available for free use. Lounge area to watch movie is also great! Great place to stay and people are warm and friendly. Thumbs up!

Nice hostel in Silom”
Friend recommended Lub D as a good and clean hostel to stay at. It is located in Silom which is the financial district of Bangkok. The BTS skytrain (Chong Nonsi stop on Silom line) is about a 10 minute walk and only a few stops away from Siam the primary shopping district. The rooms are sufficient and clean. I had a double room which was on the 5th of five floors. The only downside is there is no lift but I didn't find it to be a big deal since I am only bringing my luggage up and down once. Recommend booking through agoda especially if you are by yourself getting the double room since Lub D normally charges per person you'd have to pay for two people. Lub D honoured my agoda rate even though I was just one person booking the double room.

Awesome Hostel”
this is my favorite hostel ever! the staff by far are the most friendliest staff i have encountered in any hospitality environment. during my last visit, my agoda voucher did not process in the their system. even though i received a voucher, lub d didn't. however, the staff was very understanding and patient. they allowed me to check in and treated me as if i was their top priority! i've been in a few situations similar to this where i was treated like a hassle and a problem. thanks lub d for the love!

Worth the stay”
I’ve stayed in both Lub D in Bangkok and 1st time to Silom Lub D. Always worth the value staying here and comfortable stay. Love the bath gel and shampoo they provided, peppermint and refreshing after a long day out! Quality products and reliable place to stay.

Awesome staff and great atmosphere”
I have stayed here many times over the past 10 years. Love it, the staff have always been friendly and super helpful. It attracts a great crew of travellers and as such has a good all round vibe. The building itself is really well set up. This time around I stayed in one of the private rooms, pretty lush considering how affordable they are. It is located centrally in Silom, you can can the trains into Siam or out to the JJ weekend markets, or check out the local sites and galleries. Would happily recommend Lub-d.

Cool hostel in the Silom district”
The first impression of this hostel is that it is very modern and geared towards young travelers. The lobby includes a bar area with a small breakfast menu, lots of open seating and a large table, and a bunch of newer PCs for use. The front desk staff are helpful and speak fluent english. There is a door to swipe into to access the staircase to the rooms, and it felt very safe. There is a small room on the second floor with a flat screen TV/DVD player and a couple beanbag chairs to watch movies. Our double room was small but comfortable. There are separate toilet and shower rooms, a large sink area, a desk with a TV and ipod dock/alarm clock, a safe and racks to hang clothes. The bed was very comfortable and had 4 decent pillows. The AC worked fine. There is a phone in the room, however I found out that it cannot make calls outside of the hotel. The front desk has a Skype phone that guests can use. The only negative about the room, is that there was a skylight in our room (on the top floor) and it was very bright and hard to sleep in the morning. The overall atmosphere of the hostel seemed to be very social and there are bar crawls and other group activities almost everyday. The rooms may seem a bit expensive for a hostel, but then again most hostels are not like the Lub d.

Excellent experience”
Overall pleasant experience at Lub D Silom. Suggestion: Shower curtain can be made lower so that water will not drip down and flow out to the other common area inside the bathroom. I had a slip outside the bath area cos of the water being flow out from the shower room which was being used by other occupant. It was not a bad fall luckily. However to prevent the worst from happening, i hope my advice would be heeded. Location: it took me and my mum(57 yrs old) less than 10 mins to walk from BTS Chong Nonsi to Lub D Silom. so it's definitely within walking distance. Will go back for next visit to BKK again. Recommended.
