Clean, budget friendly
Pros: clean, budget friendly. 2 bed room can fit 2 people per bed. There is a stainless steel water boiler, small fridge and large water dispenser in the room. However, no refrigeration when you're out as all the electricity is hooked to your room cardkey. There is a large luggage scale in the lobby to weigh your luggage. Vegetarian restaurant Fo You Yuan is diagonal across the street walking distance from hotel. Cons: staff know little English, need to know Mandarin, to go anywhere for shopping you need to take a bus or taxi. Not near any mrt station. The toilet kept plugging up. Staff helpfulness varied from shift to shift. Some were more ready to assist than others. So if you are more self-reliant and not in need in much help, this hotel fits the bill. Other: hotel can arrange for hotel to airport taxi minivan 150RMB. This was good as we had 5 people and a lot of luggage. This is out 4th time staying here. All in all, would consider coming again.

Basic hotel but good value for area
Location, large room, modern bathroom
Hotel is in historic area and not too far from metro stop and also near some decent restaurants. Room is large and comfortable and bathroom is modern but no privacy, the wall is glass and no curtain! You can't be shy here. Overall, I am happy with this place.

Renovation in progress!
The place was undergoing renovation with a lot of dust and knocking. Furnitures were placed along the corridor. Workers staying in the motel talked the whole night. They started drilling work in the room next to ours at 8am. We were also asked then asked to change room the next day as it was due to be renovated next. Both rooms were very dirty... Dirty toilet, dirty cups....! We would not stay a single night if we had not paid for our 5 nights stay. I am really disappointed.

Are you for real
staff, water, toilet paper
First of all the address given as the hotel is not the same address as the front desk for the hotel. Another hotels front desk is on the ground floor the lucky hotel front desk is another half a block down the street. So after getting to the room and finding it stinks, I asked house keeping to spray it as it reaked of cigarettes, so they sprayed the room out and it took about 5 mins before I could enter as it was over powering. I could not get another room in the hotel till the next day, even had house keeping clean the air con filters and after cleaning and observing they also appeared nicotine stained. I ended up with a headache and breathing issues, the benefits of being a non smoker in a smoke contaminated environment. The staff were great working with what they had, the hotel is in bad shape and outdated and was the last of the 3 hotels I stayed at in China on this trip and was the worse by far, not even in the same standard. The staff did apologize to me and said the place was to be refitted in 3 months. If you are a chain smoker with no sense of smell and sleep heavy, this would be a perfect hotel for you. But if not, think again.
