Exceptional
It's a nice place. We like the environment a lot. Though it's on the top of mountain, we rent a motorbike so it's not a problem for us. We stayed 6 nights and the breakfast is good though there are not many options.

Above average
The place is really nice and clean. The room is big and with a wonderful view. But the guy at the reception was very rude and made our stay unconfortable. The last day he didnt let us have lunch at the restaurant and said we should eat somewhere else for no reason

Great concrete bungalows on hilltop
Nice view from bungalow and especially the restaurant. The breakfast is a bit poor. You can choose one of 3 sets which is not quite a big meal for an averge western man. Taxi is expensive and it is quite hard/far to get there. The way is steep and sometimes the road is bad. Not recommended for beginner scooter driver. Free taxi service to the pier after checkout is nice! Not recommended for disabled guests.

Don't choose the fan room
We got the fan room in march and it was almost impossible to stay inside the room at night because the afternoon sun makes it too hot and the fan was very slow. The bathroom was smelling bad. The hotel has a nice design, but it isn't value for money.

Excellent place for a relaxing getaway
Like many others have posted there are many stairs to go up and down depending on which unit you stay in. This can be viewed as a problem or good exercise depending on how you spin it:) Also there are many people complaining about bugs. To this, I say that you are traveling to a tropical island and this is just a part of it. There were no more bugs in the room than would be found at any other hotel on the island. And this can be mitigated by keeping the door closed and properly securing the mosquito net. If bugs aren't your thing, then perhaps Thailand is not the best place for you to visit. The hotel was fantastic and the view was outstanding. This same place anywhere else in the world would be astronomically more expensive. The hotel provides a great service for an excellent price and the facilities are great. For a medium priced hotel I was not at all disappointed and in many ways pleasantly surprised. Will most certainly be staying here again.

veru clean quite place, beitiful view, attentive staff!
Ideal for couples! People who run this place were very nice and friendly! The restaurant offers great food with beautiful view! Bungalow are very clean and comfortable! Need to rent a motorbike to get around, even though they offer four times a day free taxi service from hotel to the pier.

Alright hotel but the staff are a let down
The hotel has great views but apart from that it's nothing special. During our time in Thailand we've met a few grumpy hosts/waiters etc and haven't generally minded but these guys top the list. Every request (no matter how small), they make out like you're asking the world of them. Would it really be that much effort for them to at least smile back at you when you great them? Why work at a hotel if you hate tourists?!

Very good
This is a simple little place up on the hillside above the Mae Haad pier area. There are lots of stairs - my bungalow was probably about halfway down and I counted 100 stairs (they are made of concrete to match the hillside, as is commonplace, so they aren't uniform in height or tread so you need to watch your steps). Clean comfy bungalow. Really spacious with mini fridge. Made of concrete - fairly recent construction/well-kept. I had a fan unit no air conditioning and was not hot, in fact the fan was a little much blowing on me at night. I was a little cold a night or two. There is no top sheet, which is common, but no duvet/duvet cover either - its a lightweight embroidered coverlet bedspread type thing and that's it. There IS a HUGE beach towel provided that's actually the size of a blanket and I used it as an extra blanket when I was cold. I was typically awake by between 6:30am and 7:30am with the roosters, birds and geckos whooping it up outside. The resort offers 4 free shuttles per day into town in the resort truck, down to the 7-eleven at the Mae Haad pier - 9am, noon, 5:30pm and 9pm. But they aren't always going, so you need to let them know you want to go and when to be picked up in case no one else is going at that time - they won't just automatically be there everyday at those times. (The 7-eleven is a super busy corner where everyone seems to do pick up/drop off.) From there, Haad Sairee is about a 30 minute walk and has beaches for swimming and paddle board rentals etc. Breakfast is included - but its a pretty limited selection and a limited time frame. I am particular about this because I am allergic to gluten, dairy and eggs, so if eggs and/or toast are the only thing being offered it doesn't leave me anything to eat. There was no boiled rice "Thai" breakfast offering - only fruit with yogurt or a few versions of "American" breakfast like eggs toast ham. And you get one cup of coffee/tea/juice - if you want more you must pay for it.
