Desperately in need of a facelift”

I visited Vegas in 2004ish and remember going to the Luxor then and thinking 'yeah its nice enough but looking a little frayed round the edges. I went again 2018 and honestly not sure they have done anything since my last visit. I am sure they will say they have but it dosnt feel like it. The thing with Vegas is all the hotels are reasonably priced because they want your gambling dollars so you have a wide choice. I stayed at Luxor so we could simply work our way down the strip and it was a little different. With hindsight I would have payed just a few dollars more and stayed at the Bellagio or the Venetian (which really has had a face lift by the way).

Friendly check-in staff. Line was long but there were many counters open so it didn't take too long.”

Pros: location - proximity to strip and other hotels, brunch buffet was not too shabby - lots to choose from, Titanic and Bodies exhibit right in hotel. Cons: food at restaurants on site - not the greatest but expensive, room smelled like weed every evening when I would come in from a day of activity

Decent hotel along Strip at reasonable price”

The hotel is a bit old and the smell of smoke in the casino area is quite strong (compared to the other casinos). The hotel is a bit at the southern end of the Strip already, and one has to take the bus or the monorail to go to the central part of the Strip where most of the establishments can be found. No complimentary bottled water at the room.

The room was large, spacious and well equipped. We grabbed breakfast at Starbucks. It’s disappointing that they don’t offer free water or coffee in the rooms and everything is extra. Found it very expensive to stay here.

You get what you pay for”

So the saying goes “you get what you pay for”. Better properties in Vegas are twice the price but also a much better experience. Party people next door kept us up all night a couple nights. They did get kicked out the third night. Over at the Venetian a much different crowd. A completely different experience.

Amazing - MGM putting on a great experience once again”

No need to even think about this one.... just book. Casino is great, we even joined a few free "how to" classes which were really fun The pool is amazing, however, please note that there is a 'paid' section and if you want a chair, get down early. If i can give advise, the hotel is split into the towers and the pyramid. It is a bit of a walk to the towers, however you get the views of either the city or the pyramid. Just check your room to ensure you are where you want to be The east tower seems to be away from everything, the west tower closest to the pools. Also the buffet is the best i've every been to in the whole world.... it really is that good.

Nice Hotel - Cleanliness was an Issue”

Great hotel, well positioned on the strip and with a spacious suite on the 27th floor. Room was inventively designed with a soaking tub looking out over the skyline. My only complaint was that the room had some cleanliness issues on check-in. There was several long hairs in the soaking tub, which prevented it's use until I asked housekeeping to come back and actually clean it. Second there was still wadded up tissue shoved in the door peephole looking out into the hall. Not a big deal, but shouldn't have been left there by housekeeping between guests. Overall good stay but not without bumps at the start.

It was our first time in Vegas and we decided to book the most outlandish looking hotel there is available on the strip. It certainly paid off, was a completely unique experience, view from room is nice, staff are friendly and in a very convenient location. I would stay here again the next time I'm in Vegas.

Shocking ”

On arrival I paid the resort fee, I was given a disabled room, although I’m not disabled I found it difficult to close the bathroom door, every time I had a shower the bathroom flooded with water which did not drain, the room was in a noisy position, I complained and no one came to resolve the problem.

The room was clean but it felt a little humid. Other than that everything was great. The pool opened for the summer season during our stay, which was really great! The hotel is located in the southern part of the strip, but it’s still very well located.

Awesome time”

This is my first time to stay at the Luxor from Feb 2-6 and I couldn't have had a better time. Now after reading some of the reviews here I thought I may have made a mistake. Glad I let experience show me better. Waited in line for about 15 minutes. The room was HUGE!! 2 queen beds and lots of space. The floor was very quiet and I got plenty of rest. The next morning I struck out to explore the hotel. There are so many unique things to see at this hotel. To really see Vegas I walked everywhere. Take good sneakers or walking shoes. Make use of the tram to and from the Mandalay Bay and Excalibur. It was great to be able to ride over to the other casinos on that end of the strip for variety. This was a great hotel and experience for me and I would truly recommend this hotel to anyone going to Vegas during the midweek. Other hotels on the strip may offer a bit more flash, but for my money, the staff, dealers and housekeeping will keep you happy.

Vegas Fun! ”

3rd time at the Luxor. Loved our room in the west section. Comfortable beds and black out curtains. We had an issue with our credit card during check-in, but Willie helped us and was the consummate pro! Gambling is fun at the Luxor as well as the swimming pool. Food is rather expensive with a limited number of restaurants to select from. We saw Chriss Angel, with no expectations coming in. We loved it! An amazing event that you won't see anywhere else. Give yourself time to checkout as there is often a line of people in the morning doing the same.

Nearly perfect stay at this awesome hotel”

Although there were about 30 people in line before us waiting to check in, it only took about 10 minutes to get to the front of the line. Check in was super fast. They even let us check in about 3 hours early! Our room was fairly basic but nice and clean. The only complaint I have about the room was it would be nice to have a fridge and even a coffee maker. Most hotels that are far less nicer than The Luxor have this basic set up. With that said, we was a lovely stay. The grounds are well maintained. There are so many restaurants and shops! And the highlight was the gay pool party on Sundays. Temptation. We had a blast. Huge thumbs up for support of the LGBT community!!!!

Good location and Worth of value”

Price, Location and Close to Airport

It is the best price hotel we have got through the US trip. Apart from the confused resort fee at the end, the rest were quite smooth. By the way the check in is a bit slow, but it is due to the limited manpower at the front desk not the staff problem. A full facilitated hotel with convenient transport access.
