Amazing - MGM putting on a great experience once again”
No need to even think about this one.... just book. Casino is great, we even joined a few free "how to" classes which were really fun The pool is amazing, however, please note that there is a 'paid' section and if you want a chair, get down early. If i can give advise, the hotel is split into the towers and the pyramid. It is a bit of a walk to the towers, however you get the views of either the city or the pyramid. Just check your room to ensure you are where you want to be The east tower seems to be away from everything, the west tower closest to the pools. Also the buffet is the best i've every been to in the whole world.... it really is that good.
Gutes Hotel am Strip”
Kostenloses Upgrade in modernisierten East Tower room. Insgesamt ein gutes Hotel.
The only good bit is the pool. Providing it's not closed”
Checking in to be told by a pretty charmless and rude man that we had to pay additional resort fees amounting to approx 80 dollars was a shock as no where did I see this information when booking. Navigating the lifts to the room was a ball ache but at least it got my step count up for the day. Considering the resort fees we thought we'd at least take advantage of the pool on our first morning there only to find out the whole area had been booked out for a party all day. We went the next morning for an hour and enjoyed the pool but wasn't worth the compulsory resort fee bumping up the cost. I'm glad we only stayed 2 nights before escaping the city, I really dislike the place but it's a good base when looking to travel out to surrounding national parks.
Clean and convenient place. Very good value for money
Disappointing, the decor in the rooms was a bit jaded and it wasn’t the treat we had hopped for. ”
The staff were all very helpful but appeared uncomfortable with some of the hotels policy. We were asked to empty our water bottles before entering the swimming pool and although there were water fountains we felt this encouraged dehydration. A strange policy. All the pool side drinks and food was incredible expensive. There wasn’t enough sun loungers and half the pool area was closed and so people were unnecessarily cramped. We were also charge a resort fee which didn't appear to cover anything as all the hotel exhibitions were charged for. We were shocked by the change to Vegas in which we saw the blatant objectivisation of women mad for an uncomfortable space.
On arrival I paid the resort fee, I was given a disabled room, although I’m not disabled I found it difficult to close the bathroom door, every time I had a shower the bathroom flooded with water which did not drain, the room was in a noisy position, I complained and no one came to resolve the problem.
Fair price for location”
The room was clean but it felt a little humid. Other than that everything was great. The pool opened for the summer season during our stay, which was really great! The hotel is located in the southern part of the strip, but it’s still very well located.
Only thing was really disappointed in was the buffet! $25 a person and not much to choose from. Can take a lesson from Golden Corral for what a buffet should be! Won't do the buffet again. But other than that love the Luxor. Would stay again!
The pyramid rooms leak in the rain”
The pyramid rooms are dated. We had rain on the first night of our stay. We were woken up by the sound of rain water falling from the ceiling onto the desk, chair and carpet The carpet was soaked and that area of the room became unusuable. The leaks were only centimetres away from light fittings. We met three other people in the lift all complaining of flooding in their rooms. Our room was changed immediately to a room in one of the modern towers. I would not recommend the pyramid rooms if rain is forecast.
Good place to stay for a very good price”
Booked this hotel due to the fact that it was made famous by Criss Angel but to our horror, he has shifted to Planet Hollywood Hotel. The design of the hotel is unique & we chose a pyramid room & it is unique where the lift move up in a diagonal way. If you are looking for a budget Las Vegas hotel with tram to the Las Vegas Strip, this is the one. We were able to go to Planet Hollywood to catch the Criss Angel show & able to explore the Las Vegas Strip. There are many shows in this hotel as well. The Blue Man group & the Fantasy Strip tease (They touted it as one of the best in LV) but we didn't go as we were busy entertaining overselves over the jackpot machines in the casino. Overall a good place to stay at a very good price. If you can afford to pay more, can choose a hotel along the strip, if not stay at Luxor.
DO NOT STAY HERE”
I don’t care how cheap you get this place, it’s not worth it. Check in line wait time: 90 min. The staff told me this was normal. Also it was a Sunday afternoon, so not a peak check in time. I inquired if maybe there was a convention or something? No. Again, 90 min to check in is totally normal according to the staff. We’d booked adjoining rooms. Nope. Sorry. Now you’re on separate floors. Try to call the front desk. Wait time 10 minutes on hold to speak with a human. Line for the buffet? 25 min wait ... for them to show you to a table. Probably one of the worst overall hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The staff was nice, but not necessarily accommodating and definitely not sensitive to the amount of time everyone was waiting. The hotel was clean. The location is good. But honestly any place else would be better. Don’t put yourself through the torture. We went for one night, booked the room for all of 18 hours and spent 2 of the 18 hours standing in line.
Good location at the top of the strip, plenty of options inside for food & drink, connected to other casinos for easy access. Clean rooms, nice size and self parking isn’t miles either. Nothing to not like really.
Specifically requested king bed, was given two queens. Requested to change rooms, front desk never called. The hotel is lackluster. The toilet never flushed right. There are better hotels to stay at. This was just cheap.
Decent hotel for the price on the strip. Facilities are to be expected for a hotel of its age. Beware of the people in the lobby of the casino that try to rope you into a direct marketing timeshare scam. They appear to be hotel staff but they're just trying to sell you crap in return for your time.
Anything you want is here. Great room mountains and airport outside. Monorail from next door at Excaliber and tour to Grand Canyon from there. Breakfast very good and service excellent. No noise on 24th floor. Titanic exhibition good.
Friendly receptionist. Mary *****”
Good experience. Nice resort hotel. Convenient. Good value for money.
This is my first time to stay at the Luxor from Feb 2-6 and I couldn't have had a better time. Now after reading some of the reviews here I thought I may have made a mistake. Glad I let experience show me better. Waited in line for about 15 minutes. The room was HUGE!! 2 queen beds and lots of space. The floor was very quiet and I got plenty of rest. The next morning I struck out to explore the hotel. There are so many unique things to see at this hotel. To really see Vegas I walked everywhere. Take good sneakers or walking shoes. Make use of the tram to and from the Mandalay Bay and Excalibur. It was great to be able to ride over to the other casinos on that end of the strip for variety. This was a great hotel and experience for me and I would truly recommend this hotel to anyone going to Vegas during the midweek. Other hotels on the strip may offer a bit more flash, but for my money, the staff, dealers and housekeeping will keep you happy.
Tacky Chic ”
You can't to go to Las Vegas and avoids tackiness. So where better to stay is in a massive pyramid which fake Egyptian decor. Get you a taxi ride from the airport to the hotel I due to renovations it's a little bit of a walk too reception. Check in was Swift on the stuff very polite. Another bit of a trek thanks to my room, but the room offered everything I needed. The bed was exceedingly comfortable, a good size bathroom with both shower and bath, good size TV and strong reliable WiFi. The view from the window was great huge panorama of downtown Las Vegas. Review Inside the Hotel was equally spectacular looking down on the inside of hollow pyramid a long way below. I hired a car for two days off my stay, and the Hoover Dam wasn't easy hours drive away, as were various shopping malls. In summary a great stay in a great hotel, albeit at one end of the strip accessing Vegas Old Town quite a journey, well worth it though.
Vegas Fun! ”
3rd time at the Luxor. Loved our room in the west section. Comfortable beds and black out curtains. We had an issue with our credit card during check-in, but Willie helped us and was the consummate pro! Gambling is fun at the Luxor as well as the swimming pool. Food is rather expensive with a limited number of restaurants to select from. We saw Chriss Angel, with no expectations coming in. We loved it! An amazing event that you won't see anywhere else. Give yourself time to checkout as there is often a line of people in the morning doing the same.
