Fantastic location ”
Good breakfast variety of hot and cold food fresh coffee. Breakfast dining area is situated beside river enjoyed watching tropical fish and river life whilst having breakfast. Near two very Good inexpensive seafood restaurants located on river side 5 minutes walk from hotel. Free kayaks and boat service to beach. Highly recommend kayaking to the beach.
Taxi to ferry ”
I asked the front desk the night before for a taxi at 7:50 AM to the ferry. That morning The front desk refused to have the taxi come then and insisted on 8:15. He showed up at 8:20 and we missed the ferry and our flight.
Really wonderful. Lovely and spacious rooms, two pools, including an infinity pool that was practically empty, lovely location with great views. Excellent breakfast. The beach was great. The staff was amazing, and they offer a lot of helpful extras for free, like shuttle bus to the other beaches, or kayaks to go up and down the river and to the beach. I'd highly recommend it, and would definitely like to come back. Very relaxing and quiet.
Perfect short stay”
We loved the resort - wonderful peaceful location and quiet beach, very relaxing time by the pool. Lovely room with huge comfy bed and good breakfast spread. Great added touches with the free boat shuttle and minibus to White Sand Beach. Only minor thing was that at a 4* resort not having any drinking water available other than 2 bottles per day so have to buy from hotel or shop nearby. Other than that absolutely perfect!
I stayed at AANA for two nights only and loved every minute of my stay. The room we booked was a Deluxe room which overlooked the lake/river.The room was beautiful, clean and spacious with a comfortable bed and pillows. The next morning the water heater gave problems and they upgraded us to a Villa room free of charge. The staff, especially Moji at reception were exceptional.Always friendly and ready to assist. Another great pro was the free shuttle to White Sand beach which operated until 5pm returning with guests at 8pm.we took a Kayak out to the private beach and also did their firefly tour.In all we loved our time at AANA and will definitely return!!
great room but service is just acceptable”
first we arrived at 8am staff inform that room type that we book is full and we got upgrade have to wait the room until2pm room is very beautiful but we wait for extra bed til 7pm even staff charged me since check inn the 2nd day room maid forget to throw garbage out when clean the room and take extrabed out I open 2nd room and wait until 3pm to get a new room and very tried while outside is rainning after we take a rest and hang sleeping sign outdoor staff come to knock door many time for take extrabed out OMG!! The pool was nice and quiet kayak service is nice also the boat staff breakfast is need more variety of food and taste So if you want to stay a good room not expensive this is good choice but not expext about service like 4-5 stars resort
Nice relaxing Resort. Next time may need to stay longer. ”
Room clean. TV may be old, but on Island holiday I want to enjoy the environment. With very easy things the stay can be improved. Breakfast to put a heater under the food should not be that difficult cool dishes which should be at least warm would taste better in this way. If You prefer to take the breakfast in the hotel better choice to book the room including breakfast. 450 Baht ordered at the hotel is in my opinion a little bit pricy, but the omelet is delicious.
They got free kayaking, shuttle boat to private beach, shuttle bus to downtown, fireflies boat trip... . Also the massage was really nice and value of money.
5 Star location. 5 Star staff. 5 Star experience.”
I cannot understand why this resort has any bad reviews, we arrived originally only for a few days and stayed in a deluxe room. We loved it so much, and the location and setting so perfect, we ended up moving to a lovely villa and staying for the duration of our trip - and as a traveler who does not usually stay in resorts, it's a big compliment. The resort is on a calm sea inlet, meaning you can kayak up to the beach or take the shuttle boat - it's utterly beautiful, it has a jungle feel with a great top pool for adults and another for children and dive training. In addition, as you are halfway along the west side, it's ideal for exploring either side of the island. A great breakfast and staff who cannot do enough for you, also a fantastic tour operator on site with access to unique trips via speedboat - highly recommend. There are small things that need a little tlc, but this is Thailand not the West - I'd go back in a heartbeat.
Really lovely would come back”
Travelled with my husband and 4 year old daughter. Its a beautiful hotel and it does need some care and attention. They sont seem to advertise what they so well for example there are free canoe hire to take you to thebeach which is literally one minute away. But there is also a shuttle boat to ferry back and cross to the beach bar (which takes no time) the beach is so beautiful swings on palm.trees. the hill top pool it has stunning views but needs tlc. The staff are great. The bar should play some music, some of tge drinks are expensive (alightly) but a local rum and coke at the pool for 100baht is not bad and its app £5 for a pizza. Alternatively if you wanted to save mpre cash you can by beer from the shop and deink it at the pool. The hotel shop is just very slight morw expensive than outside. They peovide great toiletries including a fantastic citronella to keep the mosquito away. The beach towels are all ready in the room so uou dont need to go through bother of collecting.
A nice surprise!”
We spent 9 days beginning of December and enjoyed the lovely beach (very close by, reached by free kayak or shuttle boat), the comfortable room and the very generous breakfast. Food was delicious although it would be much better if kept hot. Wifi worked well for 6 days and then not well at all but nothing was done to fix it in spite of repeated requests. Great place but Management should be a bit more present.
Friendly staff but in terms of facilities, there's ample room for improvement.”
We enjoyed our stay and will return to AANA however we really hope they would take our feedback seriously. Stayed there twice. 1. Wifi sucked. They need to get better wifi connection to all the rooms. 2. Toilet flush was not working well. Think the previous guests had tried to flush down items which were not supposed to be thrown in. The plumber could not get it to work properly. 3. More variety for breakfast. For long stays, it became too boring.
Good points - Staff were very friendly and accommodating. There were a variety of tasty foods available for breakfast. The general environment and gardens were rustic and quite beautiful. The two pools were nice and quiet. Visiting in the rainy season the sea is too dangerous to swim in, however, because of the location on a river inlet, we were able to kayak into the mangroves though calm clear water. For us, this was the highlight. You can also kayak to the local beach or grab a free boat shuttle there (it's only 200m away). The sand on the beach was fine and soft and there weer plenty of trees for shade with a cool tree swing. Bad Points - Room (deluxe) could have been cleaner and some furnishings needed updating. Pools could have been cleaner (lots of debris, but it was stormy at the time). Noisy neighbours on one of the nights and a car alarm going off for an hour in the morning. This could happen at any hotel though, however it could have been sorted out quicker.
Kayaks and fireflies!”
We got this place for such a bargain in the low season! The breakfast was good, room nice with a lovely, big balcony. The highlight for us was the free firefly boat trip and kayaks, which we used to kayak to the nearest beach. If you want to be on the beach this is actually 1.5km by road, but I think they have a taxi service
I have been a couple of times before to this hotel and this time was the best. All the rooms are great and well presented. There has been a complete refit of the main pool and now has a swim up to bar which is staffed now. Staff really do make this place and the location is beautiful 10/10.
Value for money stay in Koh Chang”
Our trip span 3 different hotels and AANA considered the best value. Room is clean although showing signs of aged but functional. Environmental wise, the hotel needs an upgrade badly and I believe they are doing that. No easy access to the beach directly and need to kayak there or take a boat provided by hotel. Both are free services and the beach around there is fine and shallow. Breakfast has adequate choices. I will consider staying there again, although it is not the best hotel but one of good experienced stay without being charged for this and that.
Near the river”
We had a very nice room bright and clean with centralised aircon and a sound night sleep in a King size bed. Our view from the GF room with its French sliding doors had its pro's and con's. You can clearly see the pool and pool bar and the river. Unfortunately for us our next door neighbour was some disgusting old man from China that work me up at 7am with his loud throat noises and spitting his flem over the plants over looking the swimming pool and in front of the Scuba divers staff "what a peasant! In the room you could clearly hear from the above rooms everytime they flushed the toilets and there a strange irratating swirring noise also from above. The staff i found to be attentive and pleasant. The so called "Happy hour for cocktails by the poolside is a total waste of money as all the drinks taste like water. Breakfast there is a good selection. Canoeing was fun to the local beaches " but be careful as the canoe's can tip over very easily if you add weight to one side.
amazing views and surrounding, little mediocre for the rest”
The views and the surroundings are amazing. The value for money isn't that great. Maybe better if you take one of the cheaper rooms. Maintenance is lacking everywhere. There's a nice pool where you can get a drink, but drinks are terribly overpriced. As is the food. Staff is friendly but a bit amateuristic at times. Breakfast is very good. Wifi doesn't really work, or is extremely slow when it does. Actually it's still a very nice resort. But the price was a little too high.
Very beautiful Bungalows located in the Woods Right on the River. With a Veranda and a huge privat yakuzzi! Free cayaks and Frequent boot Shuttle to the private Resort Beach (3 min Transfer). Two bin Public Pools with Bars, rich breakfast. Free transfers to white Beach so that you can go shopping or have lunch/ Dinner out of the resort. we stayed there with our 9 months Young baby and were very satisfied. Totally worth!
Me and my partner booked this one after reading the reviews and as we both didn’t really know much about Koh Chang took the chance on this place. We also wanted to be away from White sands as we just like being away from the main strip. When we got here it was like wow!! What have we walked into! It is paradise, I would recommend it to anyone. The staff have been so lovely and friendly and gone the extra mile to make our stay really welcoming. I will be coming back here and luckily as I’m writing this review we have another few days left before we head back to Bangkok, which don’t get me wrong we are both really looking forward to and continuing our travel around Thailand but this place is going to be remembered forever and I am already planning in my head the next time I will come. The island of Koh Chang is stunning and the hotel just complimented the entire experience!!
