Charming hotel where you can relax ”
Angkor Village is a charming little hotel in walking distance from Pub Street. It offers a relaxing atmosphere the moment you step in. Our room was very specious and a had a nice sitting area overlooking the pool area. While it didn't bother us at all, we noticed there was no TV in the room
We came for two nights to see Angkor Wat, put ourselves fully in the hands of Angkor Village, and were very glad we did so. The staff were lovely and the driver and guide they arranged were terrific, very knowledgeable, and a pleasure to be around. After an overwhelming 12-hour day visiting the ancient temples, it was wonderful to return to the gorgeous, cool haven of the Village for a long swim in the pool, surrounded by dazzling tropical greenery. The Village is itself a splendid tribute to Cambodian architectural traditions and culture, composed by architects and designers who have clearly thought a lot about those things; we particularly enjoyed the apsaras dance performance in the hotel theatre the night we arrived. The place was strongly recommended by a friend who has been to Siem Reap many times, and we were very glad we followed her advice. Our last morning, the guide suggested we visit a floating fishing village; we did, and it was extraordinary.
Angkor Hotel never fails”
I love this place. Is an oasis in Siem Reap. My third stay here. First visit was 15 years ago. Still such a great place. The vibe is that of relaxation and old-school chill. The lobby that welcomes you is open and tastefully decorated with Khmer actifacta. Fluffy chairs and glowing lamps invite you to the tiny bar tucked in the corner. My room was one of the petit room—perfect for me. Was told they recently rennovated. Foot massage was great. The food at breakfast was nice. The staff, on every level of service, stood out to make me feel welcome. Location is within walking distance to the night market and great restaurants are all around. Will stay here next time...again!
This hotel makes dreams come true. Charming ambience: lobby, restaurants, pool, breakfast top. Room on upper floor very relaxing. The place to be in Siem Reap, very well located, close to everything in the evening and very quiet. Do not mix this hotel with the greater Angkor Village Resort. Despite under the same management and similar facilities, this one is my favorite.
Looking for a hotel in Cambodian traditional style”
Last week we went for a weekend to Siem Reap. I went there already 12 years ago but my girlfriend did not. When I was looking to the hotel sites, many resorts were build in 12 years. But we've both like a touch of Cambodian culture and so we've choose a waterfront room / house of this Ankor Village hotel. We've met an excellent choice !! As the former reviewers already mentioned: The layout of the hotel is ideal for relaxing and the staff is absolutely genuinely nice, warm, welcoming and always helpful. And besides that, always with a smile on their face. That's sometimes and something different in Holland :-) Anyway, we went in the low / rainy season, so the hotel was pretty empty. But the room was great, big bathroom, clean, two times a day the staff came to clean the room and left a 'surprise' on the bed. I don't tell what, but it is nice ! The pool is clean and relaxed and the food in the restaurant is great. The breakfast is served at the table, so a bit different then a buffet, but you can choose of several nice things and it is plenty ! So everything is fine and a guarantee for a nice romantic weekend. There might be one thing for some travelers what could be bothering: There is no TV and no WiFi in the room. There is WiFi in the lobby and a special TV room. (Yes, we're going back in time, but we are in Cambodia and it have its charmes hahaha). But we didn't mind. Overall, a very nice relaxed place to be for a good price. Enjoy !!
Angkor Village - A Welcome Retreat”
Just as the owner took the time to research traditional Khmer architecture and give it a glorious contemporary feel, so this hotel has revived Khmer friendliness and homeliness. Everything is made comfortable for visitors. For those looking for a lively place, this isn't it. In the 20 years I've been coming to Angkor Village, I have always loved the quietness of the place, affording the thoughtful traveller time to absorb the varying facets of Cambodia between Angkor ruin and modern downtown Siem Reap. Go visit the temples, then come back for a quiet time, a swim, a massage and a chance to read, think and drink in your Cambodian experiences. Wi-fi is available in the lobby and business centre, but that is just a step away from your room.
This should be a 5-star hotel!”
We LOVED this hotel!!! They picked us up from the airport in a vintage Land Rover, which was really nice and convenient. They served us a fresh lemon iced tea while we were checking in. The grounds were GORGEOUS and super romantic. The free breakfast is really delicious, and it's so lovely to eat surrounded by the pond and water lilies. The staff is always happy and helpful. They leave little treats with turndown service. The room was cute and comfortable and charming. The front desk helped us book a driver to take us all of the temples, and we liked him so much that we booked him for the next two days, too. Definitely stay here!!! I'm recommending it to everyone I know who travels to Siem Reap.
Charming, wonderful hotel”
Wonderful 3 night stay at the hotel. Great service and friendly staff. Really liked the decor - was very comfortable. Very much enjoyed the food menu. Sometimes we didn't even want to go out to eat, because it was just so good! Will definitely be back.
Absolutely stunning - an oasis in Siem Reap”
We absolutely loved our stay at Angkor Village Hotel. The whole hotel is beautifully designed and makes you feel totally at home in a paradise in the middle of Siem Reap. The rooms are very tasteful and most open out onto the central lily pond. The food is great, and the hotel's own Apsara Theatre is the best in town. One of the best hotel's we've ever been to, and we cannot wait to go back again! A very special place to relax at after a hectic day of temples. You won't want to leave!
Great, small hotel with excellent service”
We were very happy with our stay. The hotel is having nice garden and setup, it is quiet and relaxing place. The pool area is quite small but nice and clean. Staff is so friendly and helpful making sure all our plans worked out smoothly including transportation at very odd hours.Location is excellent - walking distance to Old Market with numerous restaurants, bars, bazaars...
This hotel is absolutely lovely. All the premise are style designed, pol is nice, rooms beatiful, staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was great, plenty of anything you can desire. Everythig is nice, a great place to stay after the summer hot and wet weather condition of a walking day in Angkor. An island of luxury in a wonderful historical area. The only advice I want to exprees is trying to solve the noise of a/c system. It is efficient but when you switch it on is like a B747 over your head. All other aspects are perfect.
Did not look like much from the outside but once through the entrance you feel like you excaped the city and dove right into the middle of a jungle. Great staff members and just all around a beautiful place to stay for a night or two while in Siem Reap.
Fantastic hotel with very comfortable rooms”
The hotel is just a little bit far from the 'main' area but it's definitely a jewel, the gardens, the rooms are very clean and the size is good enough. The food is very good but definitely the winner is the staff that is very friendly and helpful. They don't only leave a chocolate or cookie at night but they also include little legends of Cambodia which are very interesting and make a difference.
Beautiful setting and great location ”
I spent five days at Angkor Village Hotel with my girlfriend and my parents who had never been to Asia before. Everyone felt very comfortable and the location was excellent being so close to many restaurants and the local market. We all took the cooking class offered by the hotel and had a great time! The hotel was helpful in organizing external activities and had many excellent suggestions.
Elegantly Traditional Cambodian decor with outstanding service. Serene setting with lush landscaping”
Choose second floor with view over the charming & excellent open air restaurant and fountain. Warm & welcoming staff had a bottle of champagne & fresh fruit waiting for us for my husband’s birthday upon arrival. Hotel is easy walking distance to great restaurants and the Night Market.
Look no further than this place ”
The best place to stay. It’s charming, beautifully surrounded by foliage that makes it an oasis. The staff is awesome anything you need they will take care of it - dinner reservations, taxi, tours, etc. The pool is wonderful to relax by. The half priced happy hour was our nightly activity. And the rooms were private and spa-like. We suggest a room on second floor with either poor or garden view. We were sad to leave and can’t wait to go back.
Fantastic staff and property
Really kind and smiling staff”
Staff was so helpful and nice!
We stayed in a beautiful vaulted ceiling room with a spectacular view of the courtyard. ”
