A very good stay”
A very good stay in Grand Cititel Hotel, Hanoi. Appreciate all the assistance given by Ms Sandy and her front desk team. Also appreciate and admire the enthusiasm from Ms Yen from the restaurent during breakfast. highly recomend this hotel for both business and leisure travelers.
Everything is excellent here. Grand Cititel Hanoi Hotel is located within Old Quarter area, convenience store (Circle K) is just at corner of the street & about 10-15 mins walk to Hoan Kiem Lake. Hotel staffs are all friendly & helpful especially the female receptionist who checked me in. Appreciate for the complimentary cocktails they offered to celebrate anniversary with my boyfriend. My room is situated at level 8 (considered high floor in this hotel), not very nice view but very clean, provided with every amenities I need & the bed is really comfortable to rest on. International buffet served for complimentary breakfast, including of salad, fruit, sweet yogurt, bun, ham, cheese, porridge with condiments, rice with dishes, egg station & pho noodle station. Only 3 star for their facilities due to there’s no swimming pool, gym & spa in the hotel. The only unpleasant part is housekeeping attendant ring my door early at 8am on the 4th day just to ask if I need laundry service.
Overall stay was good”
We arrived earlier than check in and was kindly given a room within 10 minutes (which they didn’t have to do, even though we were happy to wait). However, we were given a different older looking room than we had paid for online, facing a cement building with flourecent lighting running up and down it in the evening. Plus, the bathroom had mildew on the inside window, from ceiling - floor, which altered our impression of the hotel. Location: approx 30 mins walk to city lake. Breakfast: good selection. Staff: friendly. Although, when we went to check out first night, before our Halong Bay cruise, they tired to charge us extra for a dirty face cloth which shocked me; I’ve never experienced anything like it. So when we stayed for our second (pre-booked) night after cruise I was cautious about using the towels; not something we would want to be concerned about during our stay. We also had to request room that was advertised online & Agoda. Overall our stay was good.
Value for money, convenient location, amazing staff”
Highly recommend this hotel for either solo or couples. Rooms were very clean, Sandy (the manager) was very helpful and accommodating, and their booking staff (Rosie) was also super helpful. Unfortunately my flight was delayed several hours, and I made a airport transfer booking with them, so I emailed them hoping that they would see it to inform the driver, and Rosie replied to my email almost immediately! Location is also very convenient and safe, it's in the city, yet it's also tucked away in a peaceful corner. Literally 5-10 mins walk and you'll be in the center of Hanoi's organized chaos. Will definitely come back to stay here again when I visit Hanoi in the future.
Great staff, great location, great breakfast, but there was not ventilation”
10/10 for staff, who spoke great English and were very friendly. 10/10 for the location which was very close to the Old Quarter. 10/10 for the breakfast buffet, it was delicious. But the room itself was 0/10 because it had a very strange smell which hovered around the whole night as there were no windows. The air in the room was very stuffy, it was like sleeping in a coffin. Only if the designers had installed more air vents to suck out old musty air, it would have been a great experience. Such a pity because we wanted to rave about this hotel.
Perfect for traveling alone.”
Room size suitable for living alone. The staff is kind. I was thankful for traveling alone in a friendly manner. When necessary, it solves the problem immediately. It is very clean because it is not built yet. Located near Hoan Kiem Lake, you can walk around the lake. There is a good massage shop nearby so you can easily access the massage shop. Conclusion: It's clean + Friendly Staff = Very Satisfied.
Business Travellers Option”
Certainly one of the good options for business trips.
Good staff from Reception, supervisor, bar and the restaurant all good staff.”
Good hotel to stay and very good behavior.
No frills & very clean room and glad to stay there for a night. Very convenient & quiet location. Staff were very hospitable and they prepared a bday cake for our lil' one. We will recommend to other friends & family.
Recommended to all types of travelers. Don't hesitate to book here.”
With best and kind staffs, it's nice hotel. The room was cozy, with the reasonable price. Food was also good. Specially, i loved carbonara pasta. For the location, it's near the attractions. So why not book here?
Totally worthy ”
Only Hotel entrance is bid odd other nice hotel. Nice staff.
The buffet breakfast was wonderful with more than enough options to choose from. The staff was very friendly and helpful! The hotel (and my room) was clean and the bed/mattress was perfectly firm, just the way I like it!
Good location in old quarters but dislike bathroom design”
As all reviews have mentioned, the location is good though it's in a small alley. Not an extensive breakfast buffet but it serves the purpose. Their pho is good. Bed and pillow are ultra comfy. Staff are friendly and helpful. However, I dislike the bathroom design a lot. Both the shower and toilet area are transparent. Technically, when someone opens the door, they can see you using the bathroom. Not suitable for people looking for some privacy.
Great option in Hanoi”
This is a brand new hotel. It has a nice fresh decor, which made us feel at home. Staff was nice, though pretty hard to understand at times. We did really like this one, and even came back to it twice, but It does have some downsides so I’ll try giving a neutral review. Rooms are pretty small but very modern and have a good vibe to them. The bed is incredibly comfortable!! Room structure is pretty weird and there’s no real separation between the bathroom and the bed area, which makes it hard to avoid disturbances if someone is sleeping. The safe didn’t have batteries when we arrived and so they just came and *replaced* the whole safe 🤦♂️ what’s the point of having a safe if one can just grab it and go?! There are also little annoyances like no hangers for wet towels, or no stool to place luggage on. The “closet” is just a tiny open rack. Breakfast is good enough in Vietnamese standards. We’ve stayed in 4 different hotels around the old quarter area and we loved this location the most - it’s just outside the chaos, but still just a 5 minute walk away, and the French Quarter area is pretty damn beautiful and relaxing. Right by the hotel there’s the only real French bakery we found in Vietnam - L’epicerie - at the Sofitel Metropole hotel, and their pastries are really great 👍🏻 We highly recommend staying here, it’s a great deal.
Weird hotel and lacks soul.”
We were quite excited about staying here for two nights. However, from our arrival onwards there was a strange feeling to the hotel. The receptionist did welcome us, but the language barrier made check-in difficult. We also had communication issues when I tried to explain the noise issues with our neighbours who congregated in the hallway outside our room at midnight and again at 530am. Needless to say we didn’t sleep very well and moved rooms for the second night. Breakfast was also strange. It is a big white room with a buffet breakfast and a few members of staff. We were the only people there on both mornings, but there was just a strange ambience to the place, like we were in some kind of badly made sci-fi movie! I really wouldn’t recommend this hotel unless it’s a last resort.
Brand new hotel ”
Pros Close to all the shops - 5mins walk Quiet location Noodle soup cafe just outside of hotel Chemist literally downstairs Money changer with the reception Bike rental avail with reception Friendly staff Mini gym Grab car knows the location Breakfast selection was ok (small dining area on L2) Cons Located next to a construction site (not noisy but dusty) Hidden but there is a big sign with 13B Room has ants even inside the fridge This is pretty much a new hotel as the pool is not ready, the gym is tiny and 90% done. Apart from that it's a good hotel. Apart from the ants I would return to this hotel if I visit Hanoi again
Nice small room. However, there was a weird smell within the building and the room”
Room was clean. Location was ok, close to Hoan Kiem Lake, shops, and some local restaurants. However, the strong odor was present in the room and the hotel lobby as well. There was water leaking from the shower booth to the bedroom.
Well maintained & clean”
Pretty satisfied with the hotel stay. Comfortable soft bed, very clean, and hotel staff were courteous. Most importly, it’s not facing the main road where u have to ensure all the loud honkings. One least attractive point is the location, it’s near & walkable within 10-15mins to French quarter & old quarter. Not exactly too near, but still walkeable..overall, happy!
