Friendly, Helpful Staff”
All Scots are friendly, anyway. Good breakfast. Clean, good-sized room. No aircon, but it was ok bec it was cold - and they have electric fan. Bathroom needs updating, but clean & okay. Hair dryer provided. Very near the Royal Mile & train station if you wanna go to Glasgow. They allowed us a very early check in (10am), but thst was bec we weren’t particular about the window view since we wanted to go out right away. Great stay!
Location is excellent as its just a less than 5 mins walk from the Edinburgh Waverley Station opp. Breakfast was more than worth the paid however dining area is a little too crowded so be an early if you dont like waiting. Will definitely book with them again.
Love the location”
The staffs were helpful. I love their hospitality. Although I only stayed here for just one night I really have good impression. The location is good to reach old town historic places. I could walk to Royal Mile for just minutes.
the room was acceptable”
The room was acceptable except for the mattress which was a bit tired. There was no rubber matting for the bathtub whIch is kind of slippery. But overall the hotel is good and even the breakfast is great.
Hotel was too convienient and I like their breakfast. Good choice to stay if visit Edinburgh :)
Good spot right near the main train station and Royal Mile making it the perfect base to explore Edinburgh. The included breakfast was great value and had lots of hot and cold options.
Perfect location, just a short walk from the Waverly station and Royal Mile. It's practically along the Royal Mile! Room's spacious enough, clean bathroom but no toiletries so don't forget to bring your own. Restaurant's not bad as well.
Perfect location - quiet street near Royal Mile”
Nice quiet hotel in great location- walkable to almost everything in Old Town and New Town and beyond. Room was sunny, private, quiet, adequate size. Not much character - it is part of a chain - but fine for our needs. During Festival season (late August) better-priced and better-located (near but not on the noisy and crowded Royal Mile) than most other hotels of similar quality.
location is good. ,walking distance to train staion, behind the building will lead to main street ; towel is clean, staff helpful. breakfast not bad,; but do not provide full toiltery , no fridge, can hear the noise of the train, but is not a big issue. will come back again,
Clean, spacious but dated rooms”
Comfortable beds and everything you could expect - tea and coffee making facilities, WiFi etc. Few minor maintenance issues which if fixed could make review significantly better. Wash hand basin was cracked and one socket not securely attached to wall (other sockets fine). We got the room for an amazing rate and from that point of view we expected a tiny dark cramped room so were pleased overall.
Great Location and comfy / clean”
The hotel was directly opposite Waverley Station and only 5 min walk to bus stop - very convenient! We loved the breakfast choices. The smoothies were yummy although need milk added as were made from yoghurt only so too thick to drink. The bed mattress was very comfortable (not too soft or hard) and the pillows werent too fluffy. Would definitely stay again.
Location perfect for old town Edinburgh”
We enjoyed our stay at this Edinburgh hotel - within walking distance of many historical and cultural attractions and very close to the main station. The room although basic, was clean and very adequate. Could not wish for better service from staff.
Nice room - great service - great price ”
i booked a standard / twin room for a sunday night stay (advertised as single occupancy) via agoda at 48 hrs notice for the bargain price! i ticked the traveller request boxes for a high level room with a large bed. jury's is located 2 mins walk from the rear exit of waverley railway station onto market street (on exiting the station, cross to the opposite side of the road, walk left along market street and follow the road that bends to the right onto jeffrey street. the hotel is on the right. check-in staff were very friendly and efficient on my arrival. the security at the hotel is good as you need to use your room keycard to access the elevators. i was delighted to find that i was allocated a room on the 4th floor which was had plenty of space, a great sized bed (approx queen size) and also a 2 seater sofa despite only being a solo traveller which i appreciated. i heard no outside noise despite being in a busy city centre location across the road from the station. the room was clean, comfortable and had tasteful decor. on returning to the hotel at 3.30am (yes edinburgh bars are open late on sunday nights too ;-) i found my room keycard wasn't working probably from keeping it in my wallet next to the magnetic strip on my bank card, so i wasn't able to operate the elevator. despite the late hour, a member of staff immediately came across to offer his assistance and he reprogrammed my keycard. i didn't eat or drink at the hotel so am unable to comment on restaurant / bar (i was unable to submit this review without rating the food/dining so i have rated it 4 in line with my other ratings) the best i have ever spent. i would return to jury's although i doubt the room £25 price is available very often.
Good service, great location, clean and cosy”
The hotel is in a perfect location, close to Princess Street, Royal Mile and Waverley train station so one can reach all tourist attractions in a few minutes. I am quite picky but the hotel and the room were really clean and nice, as well as quite spacey. I was pleasantly surprised to find that all descriptions of the hotel on its official website fully correspinded the reality.
"Great hotel with okay location"”
location was very easy to find as you can just go up from the rail station and walk about 300 meters. security was great because elevator requires keycard to use. room was spacious and the view was lovely.
A great experience”
A very enjoyable stay. The location couldn't be better, the breakfast was great, I was a bit disappointed as there is no free car parking... I can highly recommend this hotel for its value for money and location - we very much enjoyed the Royal Mile and the bus tour, the shopping was good too.
Comfortable room with good location ”
edinburg is a very lovely place with friendly people. the hotel is just 10 mins walk from the bus station whereby we took directly from the airport. the royal mile is just few minutes walk from the hotel(actually is just directly behind) and there's alot of bars and restaurants along the royal mile. walk uphill and you will reach the edinburgh castle. along the way, you will see alot of ghost tours, been to the double dead tour, worth the experience!
Perfect location, great hotel”
Reception staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Had a problem with the reservation but was handled very quickly by the staff who were very appologetic. The room itself was pretty basic but had everything that was needed, and the restaurant and bar were great reasonably priced with a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Lovely Hotel with Great Location”
The first thing that attracted me the most, apart the great location that is very close to the tube, is its building which is all white and lovely. It looks as if you go to live in someone's house. The staff I met is very friendly and ready to help: I have lost my key and also make the short circuit. In the room, There are all utensils you need to cook. Only the cons is its cleanliness that is needed to improve because ,when I came back, everything looks the same: glasses are not washed...
We booked our stay at the last minute so didn't have much time to do any research about the hotel.....we were really pleasantly suprised when we arrived. It was in a fantastic location with good size rooms. We've been travelling for 6 months so have stayed in lots of hotels lately, but the staff at this hotel went out of their way to help us and were some of th best we've seen. Fruit salad at breakfast was yummy! Woudn't hesitate to stay here again, especially for the cheap mid week price we paid.
