I'd love to come again and again. I can't fault this hotel. It's discreetly located yet within reach of everything. Room and bathroom are stunning. The walk down to the bottom and back up in the morning served us well but someone with hip or knee problems may struggle otherwise superb!
Cozy stayed in the tranquility of Ubud rice field ”
It's a bit deeply in the silent street (Jalan Bisma) in Ubud. Anyway, It feels safe than i thought. Using 20-30 minutes walk to the centre of Ubud (such as Ubud Market, Barong Dance Hall, restaurants, etc.). A place is really nice, relax, cozy & tranquility. Swimming pool is nice by garden and Balinese pavilion decorated. Breakfast is by-order which you could choose it. Staff performance is really awesome, friendliness & informative. Room is big (even there's no television but i'm sure that you not need it ;), nice bed & pillow., comes with a great decorated mosquito net and it's really surprise that i have not found much mosquitoes at this place. Wifi is unstable sometimes. Overall of my stay was impress :)
We found this hotel while wandering around Ubuds' streets during our first trip to Bali. We had a look round at the time and decided it would be somewhere to stay should we ever return - 4 months later we booked Nick's Hidden Cottages for a couple of nights and weren't disappointed. The pathway through the rice field to the main entrance is lovely and the cottages are in a traditional style all with their own balcony area. We enjoyed the pool and rooms were really spacious. It was great to have fridge with beers in for our late night arrival. We loved the area of Bisma, being just a short walk into the main town, and it was great to have local bars and restaurants just on the doorstep, with paddy field views. The only down side was the building work next door. All in all a great couple of nights and good value for money!
Simply a beautiful place”
The hotel is beautilfully located just outside of Ubud, amidst the rice paddies. The design and layout is inspired by traditional Balinese architecture and you will stay in spacious rooms. traditional and natural materials are used for decorations, furniture etc. On the lowest level of the small site is a refreshing pool. The staff is very helpfull and booked several small tours and transport for us. They will even send a car to pick you up from Ubud in the evening. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it!
A lovely little place tucked away on the quieter side of Ubud. ”
A lovely place that we highly recommend. Staff are wonderful.
Great little place. Very Bali.”
Great place. First time there based on previous reviews, definitely not disappointed. As many say, it's a short walk away from Monkey Forrest Road (10min) through a great pathway and lush vegetation. Just 20mtrs up is a great café with a great view of Mt Agung and local rice fields. Rooms were fine, pool is great. For the money, it's perfect.
Wonderful spacious room with a comfy bed and good amenities. We love the daily breakfasts that are delicious and hearty. The staff were courteous and attentive to our every need, and gave us great tips on how to get around town - excellent hospitality indeed. Kudos also to the patient and friendly driver Pak Eddie who took us to the best spots for coffee, painting, batik, silver, seafood and rice terrace in the add-on tour that we took.
Very good location, a short walk to city center or Monkey Forest, but tucked back on a quieter street. The grounds and buildings and environment are really lovely. The rooms are basic but spacious and fine. The staff are sweet, friendly and helpful. Very good value. There are a lot of steps, especially if you're room is further down, so may not be the best choice for elderly or people who have trouble with their knees.
Great place - central, calm and homelike”
Very friendly stuff, lovely details, comfi bed, afternoon tee included, they offer different workshops in balinese culture every day, even free Yoga classes, they offer room and pool service, nice view and beautiful buildings...we would love to come back.
One of the best spa in town”
Charming resort with jungle and rice field view. Lovely staff and room. Very close to all the main shops but in quiet cul de sac. The pool could be a bit bigger (especially when a group of friends takes possession of it from dawn to dusk). The restaurant is ok, we only had breakfast. Don't miss the spa!
Nicks Hidden cottages is such a green, quiet place to stay with lovely views over the jungle. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, prices are very cheap and it's a short walk to central Ubud. Only complaint was breakfast took over an hour to be served
Very nice style of the hotel ”
The rooms were big and the style of the hotel was amazing. The pool size ok for the amount of rooms. The only problem was that our room smelt very fuggy. Even after the staff changed bed and linen the overall smell in the room did not go away.
We will return!”
Nick's is a piece of paradise close to but not amongst but close enough to the hustle and bustle of Ubud. Along a path through the rice fields are wonderful, attentive staff, peaceful spaces and a pool that sparkles as well as all the rest.
Simply wonderful in all respects”
As frequent travelers, my wife and I consider this the absolute tops! The staff could not be more gracious and helpful, the design and layout are gorgeous, lush, and in full harmony with beautiful surroundings, the room was lovely, meeting the highest standards of cleanliness. We felt pampered throughout our stay, and all at an unbelievably low price.
A hidden gem so close to town”
The staff are so friendly and helpful. The property is ideally positioned, one street back from Monkey Forest yet still in a natural habitat. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the pool is small but beautiful. It was a memorable experience and I would stay here again on my next visit.
Relaxing and away from it all”
We arrived very late after being delayed by the volcano and flight cancelled. The staff were there to greet us at 2.30am and provided everything we needed for such a late check in. Our stay was cut short due to late arrival and other plans however Nick's allowed us to stay the day before we left. If you have trouble negotiating stairs then you may have an issue staying at Nick's as there are a lot of stairs. The rooms are delightful. This hotel is very 'old' Bali style. You can walk into town via Nick's Pension just down the road. The walk is very picturesque (however a lot of stairs). The alternative is a round about and takes much longer.
Amazing place to stay ”
It was fantastic to stay at Nick hidden cottages , the place is so beautiful , the rooms were clean , break fast was good, and above all staff very very kind and helpful , only one issue with our room was the wifi connection was too slow or hardly any connectiviy , other wise everything was good , but perfect place to stay in Ubud , definately will consider again to stay here
Beautiful surroundings, lovely staff but too noisy”
I loved the hotel staff who were do amazingly friendly from the moment we arrived! They provided us with a map and also guided us to everywhere we said we wanted to go! The grounds were just beautiful with a true Balinese feel, and our balcony overlooked the beautiful pool and acres of greenery!! The menu was small for lunch but what we did eat was delicious and the breakfast was absolutely delicious too, with the perfect amount. The hotel is 5 mins from the monkey forest too! Unfortunately one thing that actually ruined my stay was that there is a massive construction being built next door, with hammers and drills going on until 9 at night and starting again at 8 in the morning! On top of that there was a horrendously loud lawn mower sound coming from the forest which actually left me with the worst headache, and I wanted to spend a day round the beautiful pool and I was unable to as it was actually that loud!! It was such a big shame that these noise levels ruined what could have been a perfect stay, but I feel that these current noise levels Should definitely be made known before people book as those looking to escape to peace and quiet will not find it at the moment here. Apart from this noise it was amazing and once all the work has finished I would definitely stay again.
beautiful hidaway in busy Ubud”
the resort is a bit away from the shopping and restaurant area of Ubud, but in 10 min. you can walk to the center. sometimes 10 min. seemed much to me, because of the damp heat. But when we came back from shopping or sightseeing, we enjoyed the nice poolarea very much. Our room was large with a nice balcony. All the staff was very helpf"ull and friendly.
amazing service, very good value”
The staff was super friendly and did everything to be of help. Clean and comfortable room. Good breakfast. Nice garden. Quiet surroundings. Not far from the (touristic) centre of Ubud. Great value. I can definitely recommend this hotel.
