Fantastic Location, Crap Rooms & Extra Fees”
Location wise is fantastic, just a block away from Times Square however, our rooms is not up the standard of what we are paying and also there is a MANDATORY FACILITIES FEES that we are forced to pay upon arrival. My card has been charged prior arrival and I have asked AGODA whether all the fees, taxes and what not has been charged to my card? Since what is being billed is not the same of what being charged to my card, which they answer " We understand your concern that you want to confirm the payments of your booking. We are happy to inform you that the booking is fully paid with taxes so you don't have to worry about the extra payments of your booking. Our Customer Care is available around the clock, please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any further inquiry." Guess what the extra fees is for? The supposed "complimentary Wifi, the key card access, the gym etc" which suppose to be "Complimentary"?. Mind you the Mandatory extra fees for my 8 nights is a hefty "USD312.90"
A very chick hotel at the Times Square”
Since I was planning to go to see a Broadway show,it is a great hotel to stay in. Just a block from Times Square, the hotel was quiet and comfortable and clean. Lobby, room , restaurant and club area are beautifully done . I would definitely stay at the Paramount again.
a big rip off”
Totally not worth the money. Extra hidden charges once arrived on top of room rate, taxes and security you have to day an additional $50 per day for wifi and free calls, you have to accept this fee regardless if you want to use it or not. No tea or coffee in morning, breakfast every item is itemised overall it was not worth the money for a bed. The hotel even charges on top to store your luggage.
The hotel is in an awesome location a great value for a time square the hotel was clean and the staff was professional. The safe in the room did malfunction but they made every effort to try to correct the problem while I was there.
Good value for money ”
Room was small but more than adequate for the needs of a city break. If you want big and up market then you would have to pay a lot more. Room was cleaned thoroughly every day and new towels and toiletries replaced. All in all a clean and decent hotel with courteous staff, excellent tourist location and good value for money.
It’s ok - ideal for visiting theatre”
Located in the theatre district, the hotel is functional. It is close to a fire station so it is noisy and the rooms are small. When I arrived, room was dirty with hair from the previous guest all over the bathroom. Not my first choice in the future.
Not as advertised”
The room was advertised as having tea/coffee making facilities, ipod docking station, bath tub and a few other thins but there were none of these. Our first room was damp smelling. The bedding was clean and fresh as you would expect but bathroom needed upgrading. Tiles on floor were grotty and there was an unpleasant odor. There were lots of tiny black flies around drain in shower. We complained. Staff attitude was abrubt and argumentative but they did agree to change our room which was an inconvenience as we had to stay in first room for first night as they said they didn't have any more rooms. We then had to check out of first room next morning, store all our luggage and check into new room at 4pm. This kinda upset our plans for the day as we had to come back and do all this. They also agreed to refund 2 nights resort fees, but had to remind them on last day as no note was made of this and other staff members didn't know anything about this. 2nd room want really much better apart from no unpleasant smell and flies. Still no tea/coffee but their was an ipod dock station. Agoda need to update their details on the app/site to reflect what you are actually getting. We wouldnt have been so disappointed if the site was accurate. Really didn't like this hotel at all. Resort fees are also pricey for what you get and there are plenty of other hotels without resort fees. I would recommend paying a little more on another hotel for a more pleasant stay.
NO SLEEP FOR 4 NIGHTS!”
We should have asked if it was possible to change rooms--we had room that faced 46th street (maybe a block from Times Square)--because we heard everything on the street ALL NIGHT LONG. Honking, fights, police sirens, horse drawn carriages, garbage trucks, air brakes, squeaky brakes, doors slamming, EVERYTHING. I was so sleep deprived a make-up person in Bloomingdale's asked if she could help me do something about the bags under my eyes! Also, the window in the room opened, a first for me in a hotel. Luckily, I didn't throw myself out the window to end the misery. The location is fantastic; the rooms reminded me of a nice hostel--nothing fancy but everything you need. Was also disappointed in the hotel's lack of food and drink--only prepackaged items were available for purchase. No real interaction with staff. We won't be staying here again.
New York stay ”
I’ve stayed at many hotels in New York and this was one of the worst. The hotel advertises a bar and restaurant however they fail to mention that this has been under refurbishment and not open. The rooms are dated, paint is peeling and the curtains (or sheer blind) are falling apart. The air con whilst off makes the loudest noise you can think. Don’t expect to sleep in past sunrise as there are no curtains to keep out the light. Don’t be fooled by the hotels lavish lobby, this is where they have invested all their money and none on the rooms. I would not rate this a 4 star hotel it is more like a 2 star at the most.
Hidden but non optional extras”
Staff nice and helpful and location brilliant . Not much opportunity within the hotel to eat if wanting snack before going out. However what really irritated was the non optional $30 "services" charge to which there was also tax added. That was not included in the booking price meaning we were uninformed on cost. That charge should have been clear from the start. There is no point in booking based partly on price only to discover non optional charges upon arrival We did not argue since we had been up since about midnight and just wanted to go to our room and this seemed a fait accompli.
small room (expected), dark lobby and halls, very near times square.
you book in at the hotel and ask about facilities and they mention they do have but they don,t mention that should you use there gym you pay extra for this, once your stay is done you get a bill for $30 per day for using their (gym) facilities....
Great Location in Theatre District & Times Square”
The best is the location. It's in the center of theatre district and about 1-min walk from Times Square. Some other points - the room was nice but it was small for two, especially for international travelers who have big luggages. Bed was not firm so felt like falling if too close to the edge. Safety box didn't work and service seemed very slow for so-called boutique hotel. Wardrobe was very small and couldn't fit much, especially for two and during winter time when guests bring (long) coats. Bathroom was very small especially the shower area. The drain didn't work fast so there was always water puddle up to ankle at some point. However, water heater worked fast. Nice toiletries by PURE. No in-room slippers. Wifi was free but the connection was slow and unstable. Too bad there was no coffee/tea nor hot water boiler in the room, which was unacceptable for this type of hotel. Good to have gym.
Not worth the money paid. Loby looks like a dark room.”
Pros: 1) About 1-2 min walk to Times Square Cons: 1) Not worth the money paid 2) Useless wifi for which you end paying even if it's free in the name of resort fee. 3) I couldn't under what resort. Loby looked more like a scary low dim lighted dark room. Nothing as such worth paying additional resort fee. 4) Very basic room with very basic facilities which are tiny.
Great location; great ambience but facilities should be great too! ”
In the heart of Manhattan, the hotel has a great look and feel - esp as you enter. Staff weee super helpful and friendly. Some of the facilities - wireless on bedrooms was weak; water pressure could be stronger - could be upgraded.
Very bad customer service”
I wod never come back to this hotel again. I was denied check in at 4pm, which the room should be ready at that time. We were asked to wait for 40 minutes for the key. When 40 minutes is up, again we were informed that the room is not ready, with them informing js that they were understaffed. We actually got the room key at 6pm. Wasted 2 hours just to get the room key. And we realized the room was a smoking room. We were too tired to complain again. Dont want to wait any longer. The room was too small for pax of 4. The air conditioning was noisy. The bathroom looks nothing better than a motel bathroom. And the bed was so small. Very very bad
Beyond appalling. Here is the long list outlining why this is one the worst. Please note They charge you extra fee, called the facilities fee on top of taxes and room charges. Check in takes at least 30 minutes. Very unresponsive staff. Service from receptionist and hotel manager was extremely underwhelming. Room does NOT look like photos, so beware! It was extremely small (you could barely move) , dirty, old. My room's A/C was not working, had to request for a room change which was frustrating after more than 20 hours of flight. My experience was bad and for the price they are charging there are many other better options. The facilities fee of US$ 33 is unique to this hotel and I thought it was unnecessary. They could have just include it in the price of the room. It was fake advertising to me. Photos was not representative of the room I was assigned to. I will NEVER be back and will not recommend to anyone.
A stones-throw from Times Square”
The feeling of entering Paramount Times Square is rich history. The facade is beautiful and the lobby is luxurious and dark and gloomy. I stayed in room 318 which was a small single bed room with a tiny window. I got a great deal through agoda (payed $160 for one night). The location is really what is best. It's literally 40 yards from Times Square. The street, 46th street, seems to be called 'restaurant row' and had alot of clubs and restaurants. Two blocks away you can eat a fantastic breakfast or brunch at Galaxy Diner. I had a great time.
It was the worst hotel ever ”
The rooms very small, if your tall 5+ don't think to stay at this hotel because the toilet is beside the wall no space between the wall and the toilet and there a heater in front of the toilet. I asked the desk front to change the room because the size of the bathroom they said we can't do anything you can use the public restrooms?!!!! The staff weren't friendly or helpful. The room and the bathroom not clean, also there is bad smell. We couldn't sleep because the air conditioner was annoying.
Nice hotel, great location”
we were 4 nights at paramount hotel and enjoyed. location is just 1 min walking from times square, walking distance to many attractions, coffee, restaurants, shopping and broadway shows!! inside the hotel - clean, nice, well equipped.
