Disappointing Service on Booking”
Saw booking details was "Book first, pay later". After booking saw booking is "already charged and not possible cancel". Please be careful of this when booking. When trying to make changes to the booking, refused for earlier check-in, was told to contact Agoda to change booking name, then Agoda tells me that I must communicate with the hotel to change the booking name. Was made to run around in circles for this. Terrible service.
Horrible and rude duty manager leonett”
My experience at the hotel was truly devastating. We booked for 3 nites. Upon arrival on check in day rather late abt 1130pm directly fr airport, we were received by bitter filipino staff who were displeased with our late arrival. As this hotel was without elevators, our allocated room on the highest floor, i would expected the concierge to asisst us with the luggages. But receptionist informed me the time is too late. No concierge service available. So my kids n wife n myself had to struggle all the way up with our luggages etc. The staircase was filthy. The hallway was fine. The room was clean. The next morning, much to our dismay, the breakfast was anyting but proper or appetizing. Flies was all over. Asked the filipino waiter, he says the jungle is nearby, hence the flies. Btw, this hotel is 100% staffed by filipinos. Next, we set out to hunt for a new hotel. We wanted to move out n check in to another hotel. Finally we booked another hotel n i called agoda singapore to asked if we could cancel our booking at raintr33 hotel for a refund on the next 2 days. The reply came back as negative as the duty manager said we didnt inform her anyting. So i went back to the hotel n met the duty manager. She was a filipino by the name of leonett. I told her why we wanted to checkout and i wanted a refund. She told me very rudely that my agoda booking was unrefundable. And that if i wanted to cancel, i shld hv informed her not agoda. I told her abt the breakfast experience, she looked at me in disbelief n said "we never had problems w the flies, they were there since day 1 n we cant get rid of them. So u better get used to it" Can u believe she said dat rite in my face She asked me to return the keycard to process the checkout very rudely. There were only five occupied rooms. This shows business was lousy due to the lousy services by the hotel staff The duty manager was most unbelievable. They r not properly staffed as well. They hav
Back into time”
This hotel is a refurbished officers quaters of the british days! Step into modern fixtures in rooms with vast balconies and bathrooms! Great breakfast is served for selection of menu! Staff were efficient at check in and prepare SGD 100.00 for key deposit! Rooms are clean and aircon functions well! Check out was slow though as guest have to wait for 10-15 mins for rooms to be cleared for checking before deposit is returned! Pool is super cool with sun deck across of the hotel! Walking distance to parks, great food and beaches! Amzing place for exploration on foot or via bike rental!
A sweet escape”
A beautiful boutique hotel tucked away in lush greenery. Room comes with a huge balcony, awesome WiFi, spacious shower place, super comfortable bed and pillows. Room slippers, ironing board, hairdryer, mini fridge, bottle water, kettle with coffee and tea provided. A day away from the busy life is what I needed.
As a loyal customer who have stayed here since 2015 and had recommended this lovely Hotel to many Friends who came here to book and stay too, I am deeply disappointed at the attitude of the sole male staff at the counter here who speaks fluent English. So much so that I am actually glad that I had made my next 5 bookings elsewhere in the meantime in another Hotel.
I booked 3 rooms for my daughter’s 16th bday. Maple king room 309 & 310 were great as airon is cold. Booked Twin room 312 initially for the bday event. However when checked in, room wasn’t cold. Seems like aircon not functioning. Most of us are sweating. Called reception a couple of times in the end manage to switched room to 211. Aircon was definitely colder than the initial room that was given. Staff was very patience although I snapped when trying to get the room changed. Thanks for changing the room. Appreciate it.
Booked 3 rooms to celebrate my daughter’s 16th Bday. Both maple king rooms 309 & 310 air cons are cold. If u need a quite place to stay, this area will be a good place to go. Please don’t go to maple twin room 309 as the air con is not functioning.
Quiet stay out of the city”
The building and surroundings were beautiful and it was a quiet environment for a short getaway. There is a restaurant and bar in the hotel itself, but nothing much else in the vicinity. Location is rather inconvenient and for the price, considered as a little on the high side. The room was big, nicely furnished with a high ceiling which made it seem even more spacious. We had a huge balcony too, but thought it a little queer that the sink was located in the balcony outside the bathroom! Other than the doors to the balcony, there were no windows. The downside for us was that there was no lift and the room was located in the next building from area reception. Overall a comfortable stay and would certainly book again for a quiet getaway from the city life.
Very nice building...”
I just spent 5 nights with my 7 years old son at this lovely hotel, 10 minutes/SG$15 Taxi ride from the airport. The property is an old beautiful colonial era building, used by the British during the war, not only this, it’s set in a quiet, secluded part of Changi, with lots of wildlife around. We enjoyed bird watching, but sadly only managed to spot a small lizard, nothing dangerous as feared by some. We arrived at 2 am and swiftly checked-in, had to leave details of a card for a SG$100 deposit which was refunded on departure. Breakfast was plentiful, hot dish, fresh fruit, tea & coffee, etc. We chose the congee. There are has also tables outside, facing a small park. The all staff were extremely professional and genuinely helpful. The room is basic, all worked as it should: fridge, kettle, etc. The only thing is the warm, not hot shower, but then outside it’s 30C+ My son loved the small, albeight very clean pool and the fish pond. Bus stop is 50 mt away ,3' to Changi or 50' to Singapore
Over nigjt stay”
The staff at reception very friendly and helpful....easy checkin ...checkout extended ..no charge.....changi village easy 15 stroll and many eateries .....close to airport. ...rooms very different to typical hotel but very enjoyable ...gotta think outside the box and enjoy the differance ...thanks fot a pleasant stay .
Good, clean rooms with huge balcony”
Rooms were good and clean. Balcony was huge. Good shade from the trees, allowed us to sit and have drinks there. No lifts was the only down side but negligible. There was a bar at level 1 which was conveniet. Restraunt opposite was good. Location was away from the changi village so was generally quiet.
The room was spacious. What surprised me most was how big the bathroom is. The room is more than enough to accommodate a group of 6 people. Had problems with one of the aircon initially but staff was helpful in rectifying the issue. The staff was also responsive in answering enquiries. Overall we had a good stay there.
Perfect! Amidst greeneries and tranquility. Huge room with huge balcony. A choice of alfresco or indoor! Humid weather but yet u dont feel it. Service and counter staff were friendly. Will definately come back again.
Local Holiday Retreat”
Nice hotel for weekend retreat. Hotel near Changi Coastal beach. Nice place for walk n photos. Hotel environment very quiet. Nice to stay in to write OR read. If you drive it's free parking - love it. If car park gantry for blk 42 has a hotel guest scanner will be nice. Currently, we have to drive to main block to inform reception to open gate. And we are not encourage to honk to inform. So it's very inconvenient. Appreciate if you can do something.
Quirky little place”
An old heritage building that has been turned into a hotel has its little quirks .. like no lift, limited soundproofing. BUT it is comfortable, clean.. helpful friendly staff team. It is close to airport but miles from "downtown" SIngapore (1 hour by public transport - bus and train required). It is though very close to the lovely village of Changi. A 10 minute walk to the Changi Boardwalk and Changi Sailing Club .. possibly the best kept secret (bot flagged by the hotel!). The No 29 bus stops just a few meters from the hotel..and for $3 you can get to everything you'd want to see! The hotel pool is lovely;, the bar had live music on Friday evening; the breakfast was acceptable. I'd probably stay again now I've discovered Chnagii village & the environs. If you're looking for city style hotel it isn't for you.
Being scare off several times by the huge lizards and flying bugs at the balcony, attracting crawling ants eating the dead corpse of the bugs on the washing basin. Resulting me giving up using the basin at the balcony. Other then the above nature sights, the room, toilet and bed are huge and comfortable. Some old yellow stains on the toilet tiles. Overall acceptable if you are staying for a night or two.
It was okay. Nothing fantastic. ”
Don’t bother with the breakfast, changi village would be a better option. No lifts, have to walk up. Was not an issue for me but for would be good information to include on your bookings for those who can’t walk up. Staff could have gone the extra mile when I asked about early breakfast options prior to the stay. Considering that it was just eggs and toast anyway. The pool was filled with insects. But it was nice and quiet. Furnishing was old. There is a nice bar downstairs. All in all a budget hotel experience with a nice green surrounding that lets you escape from the city.
Horrible Horrible stay”
First and foremost, the only thing that was remotely outstanding about my stay was the aesthetics of the room. On 18/4 I emailed in for a early check in, (their usual check in was 3pm) they told me that it is chargeable, I understood and the night staff ask me to confirm my arrival time so that they could prep the room. I confirmed with them that I would be arriving at 12pm as planned. 19/4, 1200hrs I arrived at the hotel on time and was told that there wasn’t a room available at the moment. Firstly, if you have told me that there wasn’t a room standby I would not have rushed from night shift without sleep to arrive at the agreed time. Around 1300hrs he finally managed to check me in, but still charging me the same amount as if I were to check in at 1200hrs. okay fine. 20/4 after returning to the room I couldn’t enter the room and was trying the card for roughly 15 mins before the cleaner nearby saw and told me I have to reactivate the card? (if the concierge have told me that I wouldn’t be in that predicament). 21/4 I check out the room. The sheets were soiled with bodily fluid and I was charged $40 Sgd for cleaning purposes. This is the first time I have heard of a hotel charging for soiled sheets. Which is absolutely ridiculous. It is part and parcel of the hotel industry, these things HAPPEN. Ridiculous. I would like someone from the management team to contact me thank you.
The toilet wall must be scrubbed as it's quite obvious that it's dirty. I opted for smoking room and the moment I stepped in the smell is quite disturbing. Should at least spray some fragrance to reduce the smell. Ate at the restaurant, the food overall is ok but can reduce on salt as I tried a few dish and it's salty. The scones is hard. Otherwise food is acceptable.
A guest who paid for a room expecting to experience a lovely staycation but turned up to be a disaster due to your employee's mistakes and I couldn't even get a complimentary 1 hour late check-out? NOT EVEN A HALF AN HOUR OFFERED where that's the least you could do for me as your guest after I went through a SAUNA over the night in your property!! If you're trying to obey to the hotel's rules and regulations so much by strictly not giving guests these complimentary late check-outs which only your hotel does it for some reasons, then what about ensuring the room is in a perfect condition before assigning guest in ISN'T THAT'S PART OF THE HOTEL RULES AND REGULATIONS TOO!! IT'S YOUR RESPONSIBILITY!! WHAT HAVE YOU GOT TO SAY ABOUT MY $100 PLUS GONE! Male filipino staff named Mark was very rude to keep debating with me instead of understanding my situation. I will never step into that hotel anymore! Ever!
