I think I would stay here again. I did like the location near the Night Bazaar and its an easy walk to the walled city. The Internet, as in many hotels, was a big frustration. It worked fine until it didn't. The water in the shower was not even luke-warm the first day, but they fixed that more or less. The breakfast was fine and I always found plenty to eat there. This is, like many hotels in its price range, a dated but functional hotel with a good location and very pleasant staff. Nothing really stands out from any other of the many hotels I've stayed in there over the years.
Virs vidējā līmeņa”
Charge for big taxi 250 bahts but provide only small private car as taxi. No water boiler. No liquid soap.
Over priced and over rated”
Pro. Location. Cons. Very hard bed. I like firm but this was not. Room spacious but dated. Useless wifi. If you need wifi avoid .Extremely weak and keeps dropping out in fact so bad I had to use a travel desk to book a flight.. Same with TV. Asked to be fixed 3 times but nothing done. Housekeeping sloppy. Tea and coffee sets not replace 4 times in 10 days. Same water. Shower curtain dirty. Problem with the safe. Staff ok but not really welcoming. When I booked in I wasn't given a hand with bags, shown to the room, or even told where the lifts or restaurant was. Breakfast is a joke. Nothing for Europeans other than fried eggs which were usually cold. Very very poor. Reception staff sweet but very little English, couldn't understand issues. Everyone else totally indifferent. To top it all the room was booked for 2 but you only get 3 pillows. If you want a 4th you have to pay extra!!!! And this is a 3/4*???? I know you get what you pay for but much better places around.
Worn down hotel in a great location for a good price”
Pros: 1. The staff were friendly and helpful. 2. The location is the absolute best for the Night Bazaar, at the very heart of things. 3. The parking is very good with good security. 4. The breakfast buffet had a good variety, especially for the value price. 5. The room was very large and clean Cons: 1. Everything about this hotel is worn down. 2. The air conditioners and TVs need to be replaced. They are very old and in disrepair.
Ğood location. Nice pool. Pity the hotel has no bar”
Central and confortable”
Have stayed here several times. Whilst it is not a flashy hotel, it’s second to none for location and comfort. Right in the centre of the city and where all the action is. Next door to the Night Bazaar and all night spots of the old city.
I've been to nice hotels in three other Thailand cities now and the breakfast buffet here was by far the worst. The only egg option was fried eggs cooked who knows when and stacked in a pan. The only other items that appealed to me as a vegetarian were some fried rice and salad. I took this to my table. There were no knives, only forks. The eggs were cold. The coffee was poor. As I looked around at the buffet, I realized nothing was covered. There were windows open with no screens and there were flies on my table so surely the flies had all the access to the food that they desired. I left the rest of my food and never came back. The toilet in my room seemed to flush well. However, when it was done, soiled water came back up out of the drain. I've never seen anything quite like it. The shower couldn't hold on a single temperature. It kept swinging back and forth between hot and cold so it was necessary to constantly adjust the temperature while you are showering.
Nice hotel, Great Location, Great Staff, Overpriced”
Staying here you get location, location, and the staff are truelly lovelly. We opted for the delux superior room which has a large room, large comfortable bed and we overlooked a nice view over the markets. The shower was either 100% boiling hot or 100% cold, we did ask for it to be looked at, but if it was, it never got better and hopefully this is a one off case. If you get the breakfast, be there at 7am, anytime after anything that has been cooked isnt replaced, the eggs are cooked and left cold and has a terrible lack of selection across the board. But if early youll find something nice to eat. Facilities in the hotel are limited, but with the chiang mai world at the door, its a nice hotel, if paying a reasonable price.
Great location, old hotel. The mattress was literally a joke, every time I sat on the edge to get into bed it felt like I would hit the floor, I laughed every time. The tv looks like it was original 1978 equipment. It’s and old hotel that shows her age but she’s in an excellent location. Kinda pricey for the amenities that you get. Probably wouldn’t stay here again. Great staff though, very friendly.
The only thing this hotel has going for it is it’s central location . Great for getting about . However this is a very run down hotel . You can tell once upon a time it was a gem but has been allowed to fall into a decline that quite simply is a shame . It is a very , very tired hotel . The rooms are enormous , basic and Spartan . Great views from the upper floors . Don’t bother going to breakfast as no matter what time you go the food appears to be on ration and is served stone cold . The heaters under the food are never on so hot food goes cold very quickly . This hotel needs a complete overhaul from the decor and presentation to the management
Best to stay away”
Hotel staff speaks very little English. Breakfast it as bad as it gets. Internet is very spotty. The internet has to be signed in each day. I checked into my room the first night and the bed springs were sticking through the matress. The hotel Manager did get me a different room. The TV has no HDMI port because its the old tube type. The location is good but thats the only thing good about it. It is also located next to the Hard Rock bar and restaurant and band plays loud each night.
Other then location not even consider have basic standard..The hotel provided only shampoo,,soap & towel. We were told to use shampoo or soap when we request for shower Gel or buy at 7-11 .No towel rack or hooks to put clean clothing in the bath room while you having shower. Real disappointed and with no choice as we booked for 3 night stay .
Got an upgrade to the upper floors - nicer room, deco and tv but there are nicer places - smaller and more personal across the river. Breakfast ok
Location is fantastic”
The hotel is very centrally located. In the midst of the Night Bazaar/Market. lots of food and touristy shopping. Plenty of massage salon around and transportation is a breeze. Hard Rock Cafe is right in front and across the street is Movenpick and Le Meridien. The hotel is about 20 storey high, about 230 rooms. Rooms are clean but a tad old. Need some updating in terms of curtains, air conditioning, bath fixtures and room amenities. Staff are friendly and easy going. But still a highly affordable, central and clean place to stay for a few nights.
Not clean, ANTS, poor breakfast”
We booked a suite. Not clean. ANTS. The birds are nesting behind the a/c. Nasty. Nasty. Breakfast selection poor. Location is great but the negatives now out way the location and we will find somewhere else to stay for the same or better price.
The hotel is located at the center of the night market. Can be quite quiet in the day but the scene changes when the sun sets. There are many massage shops all easily accessible by foot. The Warorot Market is a short 15 mins by foot and I would highly recommend visiting this market. The hotel is old and the signs can be quite evident from the furniture. Breakfast was simple and the choices available were limited. But nevertheless, if u want convenience, this is the hotel to stay!
Nice clean room”
Room was big and clean. Bed was slightly uncomfortable but that's common in most hotels in Thailand. The blinds were light colored and thin so the room got bright as soon as the sun came up, not ideal if you were out late drinking the night before. Overall I thought the room was good value and I would stay there again.
No complaints ”
After reading some complaining people reviews I thought this hotel would be below average. This is a good hotel for under US$50. Clean, good staff, nice atmosphere, great position, I cannot fault the rooms. Rm1009 So to all the "sooks" who complain, pay more and move out! Get over it, the toilets are a bit loud in the bathroom but not in the room.
