They do not want you booking via Agoda!”
I am a member of Shangri La’s Golden Circle loyalty scheme. When I booked this stay I received an email informing me that I would not receive any Golden Circle benefits during my stay. Whilst my experience with Agoda was very good I will think twice before using Agoda again when staying at a Shangri La hotel!
An average to good experience”
Overall ok. I felt a couple of issues. As I am a frequent business traveller I tend to compare with the best experiences within the same range. Minor toiletry issue - no vanity kit and room slippers open foot doesn’t work well for all sizes. This adds to the experience.
I planned my proposal in Shangri-La and the service provided was amazing!!! I was truly humbled by the reception and services that was provided. Thank you to the reservation manager, Sean Lee and his team for helping me to coordinate the proposal. Your services left an indelible memory for us. Thank you Shangri-La for giving us such wonderful memories. I would definitely come back again for your top notch service.

We stayed a total of 10 nights at Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur and it was truely a fantastic experience. From the moment you step out of your car, the service is unending. The door staff to the reception, the cleaners to the maids, the chefs to the kitchen staff are all smiling, attentive and helpful. We were travelling with our 1.5 year old daughter, so my wife and I are very picky with our hotels and our expectations are very high. Shangri La far exceeded those expectations, they went above and beyond, I especially wish to mention service manager Fairuz, she was absolutely amazing and made the stay even better. Thanks for all your help. I also wish to mention Chef Goh, one of the 6 chefs at the lemon tree restaurant. I'll be writing a more thorough review on TripAdviser. But in summary, if you are looking for a 5 star (a true 5 star) hotel in Kuala Lumpur, with a large swimming pool, great gym and health centre (spa, sauna, steam room, hair salon, beauty spa), an amazing buffet breakfast (absolute necessity), a convenient location. Then Shangri La KL is your hotel. Other hotels may be more in the centre of Bukit Bintang or KLCC but you need to consider KL traffic. It will literally take you half an hour to move 1km. Shangri La was close enough that taxi rides were a few minutes, but detached enough that we were always in a traffic jam. I'll definitely be returning in future. Thank you for the lovely stay and thank you for all the extras.
Wonderful Hospitality and Experience”
I would like to pay tribute to the staff of Shangri-La Hotel, KL. From the moment you get down from your car till you get to your room, the staff has been extremely warm, friendly and has provided excellent customer experience. A special thanks especially to the Horizon Lounge staff, Ms Yune and the Horizon Lounge team for taking care of me and my young children during our stay. They know how to make your feel warm and welcome, by building rapport with us, as well as going the extra mile to ensure we are taken care off. My children enjoyed mixing and being around them and it felt like home to them. Thanks.

First time staying with Shangri-La and it was fine. Staff were excellent n room was good. ”
There were a few cons. Complimentary fruit platter could hv been better. My bathtub shower head was leaking when turned on. Whole power socket came loose from the table console when I tried to pull out my handphone plug out. Bed was excellent n I had a good sleep. Staff were courteous n helpful. Club lounge was very good n the tea spread was good.
Debit card are not acceptable for booking thru agoda. Have to personally call the hotel to get my booking done. The customer service agent named Anuar gave me a remark that my card was declined which i feel insulted. During my stay, one of the keycard was not functioning. The receptionist staff gave me that look as if I’m cheating and try to break in your hotel. Compared to your sister hotel, Traders KL, there’s so much to improve. I definitely will choose Traders than Shang in terms of friendliness of staff, welcoming & ambience.

Great location, walking distance to KLCC (the location of my conference). Breakfast got many choices. The only problem i had was with the staff during check in where i asked to pay for everything during check-in. And couple of days later, I found out that they forgot to bill it during my check in.

Great customer service! Hubby asked for a rose bouquet and rose petals on the bed and they were amazing. We could walk to the KLCC twin towers and mall for shopping and meals. Superb location. The massage was perfect at the spa and a special mention to Yanna who is the best therapist ever. I will definitely go back to the spa for her miraculous fingers!!

Almost 2 years of my incidental spend with Shangri La hotels were never converted into GC points. They don’t care to help at all. But the hotel staff at KL are a delight. Location is brilliant. Rooms are pretty decent and food is not bad at all.

I always stay at the Shangri-La for business and the staff's hospitality is amazing! Fantastic location with KLCC a mere 10-mins walk away. The hotel even provide shuttle service to Pavilion and KLCC. The one thing I always look forward to is the breakfast as the spread is so sumptuous and the staff just treat you like royalty!

Really nothing to say. Loved it. My only issue was that I had understood that Arthur’s bar served food until 1am but they do not... so I got there for a late diner after an evening flight but could only get a drink. Not a big issur anyways

I have only the nicest things to say about this hotel. It’s super clean, many staff on hand to wait on you 247. Foods great and service is very good. Rooms big comfy and clean. Everything you ever need for business is in the rooms from pens and paper to envelopes and Ethernet cable. Uk and euro plugs. Strong aircon. Wonderful city views. This hotel is like a one stop mall has restaurants and shops. The staff are always on hand to help and all speak good English.

We got married here in this hotel, they have maintained their standard over years. No complaint with Shang. You always feel warm and satisfied with everything. Aside it is not very central but I suppose there is an advantage to it. Graab to pavi is only RM8 anyway
