A good hotel”
This is a relatively older 5 star hotel in Zhengzhou. The location is good walking distance to metro stations. The hotel rooms are acceptably comfortable.

Air Conditioning Policy Unacceptable”
This hotel has a rule. If weather temperature is less than 30 degrees, the central air conditioning in the room is turned off. They offer us a fan which is noisy and useless. They finally offer us a room that has less heat from the sun which is ok. Breakfast place, spread is not ok. Not international enough. Saw the waitress use the napkin for diners to wipe the floor while we eat. Complete loss of appetite.

For this we would like to apologize sincerely to you. As a matter of fact, we are aware of some problems regarding cold air-conditioning. We've been upgrading it recently, but it seems some rooms remain obviously too hot. We are still fixing it at the moment and are confident it will be alright very soon next week. But regarding the waitress using the napkin to wipe the floor... All I can say is I'm truly shocked to read that. We definitely have to conduct more training and supervision on some areas of our hotel. Felt like being cheated”
Firstly the Toilet smell like sewage leaks...... Secondly, the hotel did not make it clear that there is a RM58 charge for watching TV movies. Do not expect Sofitel brand name will do such things........ using fine prints to make additional income. It is not the amounts that matters, just felt being cheated. Shame and disappointed with the hotel management. But the Hotel Staff are very good.
Dear POH, Thank you for your feedback. We've been deep-cleaning our sewage system recently, and some floors were affected by some bad smell in the bathroom. This was a temporary problem. Please kindly receive our sincerest apologies for the inconvenience. Regarding the TV-movie charges, the prices could be found on the screen TV menu directly, written in Chinese and English (as well as inside the room directory located in the room's desk). Probably it wasn't looking obvious enough to you. Sorry for that as well. We will try to make those optional charges appear bigger if we can. About the prints charges: Actually these are always existing in every hotel brands, in every country. Luxury hotels that offer 'Business Center services' must cover (at least partly) the high costs of such an additional department. Room is spacious and well maintained. Heater may be a little too hot which can be improved with some cold air in, had to leave the window open to counter that. Staff are very nice and helpful, ensure that you get the best services. Highly recommended.

Room, vip club and restaurent perfect, spa and swimming pool awful. ”
Check-in perfect: We arrived one day before at Zhengzhou, the staff takes care of our bagagges and the next day our room was ready very early. No information about club access privileges was provided. You needto find this information in Booking or Agoda. Room perfect: Very nice room, perfectly clean. The housekeeping service clean our room two times during our stay. Point to improve : To have a coffe maker. Maybe the room light are a little dark. Swimming pool and spa horrible: In general the state of this area is not agree wirh the rest of the hotel. A renovation is needed. The spa was out of service and the swimming pool was cold. Club access privileges very good but difficult to find the description of your privileges: The staff doesn't know well the privileges. Particullary about "Le gouter". The timetable provided by email isn't good and "Le gouter" wasn't included. Some services are difficult to discover , you need to read all the documentation in your room. For example, bath foam is available without charge but you need to ask. It't easier to leave one bath foam directly in the bathroom. We ask for the wellcome fruit plate to club access front desk. After one hour without news, we call to main front desk. Speaking with three different personnes and no one was able to undestand us ("do you want a taxi?", "do you want to extend your stay?", "you need to pay one more night if you want to leave tomorrow...."). Finally we speak with the manager (european) and he take care of us and make interface with chinese staff. Finally we receive our fruit plate 2 hours later our first call. In general the level of english of the staff is not very good. The members of bagagge service were very useful and proactive and they have a very good english. Food very good but bakery could be improved: The set of cakes included in "Le gouter" are great. During the happy hour, the white wine are no refrigerated. This was a great hotel for foreign travellers. Very nice room, great food and excellent staff that spoke english.
Breakfast was great. But the dinner was not that good. Rooms were clean and excellent.

Excellent service from the staff throughout my stay especially at the reception area and efficient too. Room was comfortable and standard size. Everything was clean and there were L'Occitane amenities which is a 'luxury' item in a place like Zhengzhou. I ordered room service for breakfast - simple sunny-side eggs which were delivered on time, cooked just right and came...
