Comfortable hotel ”
The rooms are very comfortable and spacious. Great view of Tonle Sap and Mekong rivers. Breakfast was average. The gym and sauna facilities as a bit old and need to be upgraded. The cold pool was out of order during my stay. Access to local transport like Grab tuk tuk or taxi was a bit harder to get due to the location.
very nice hotel”
Clean, spacious, luxury! Enjoyed the huge pool, big rooms, and yummy breakfast!
When I booked Sokha Phnom Penh on Agoda, I booked explicitly for these advertised benefits: 1. Early check in 2. Late check out 3. Two way ferry I arrived 930 am, and was informed by the front counter I can only be checked in at 2pm. Strike one. Luckily my colleagues were booked by an event management company and given the room earlier, where I could freshen up. They said they would call me at 2 or send someone with my card, but I already knew that ain't gonna happen. I went to the reception for check in and the deposit requested was USD200! Luckily I had my credit card, but I shall not hold it against them. I called this morning (10am) and requested for a late check out at 1. The reception tells me they are not able to do so because it's not in the system and want to charge me 50% of the room rate. Strike 2! I can accept if they said rooms are full, yes 549 rooms full. Didn't get early check in, no late check out, I want to see if they ferry me to the airport. If they don't, I hope Agoda can do me the needful. It is sad a beautiful hotel like Sokha is spoilt by bureaucracy and spoilt my stay here. I will be traveling to Sihanouk ville next month, and as Sokha has a hotel there, I will exclusively NOT stay there for this amazingly bad experience!
Great place to stay”
the hotel are very clean. once i enter the room, the smell are really nice that welcome us at the room. the location are good too for business traveler or vacation. for business it near with starbucks, costa coffee and business district. others attraction also near with the hotel using tuktuk or passApp. For muslim, the halal restorant just side by side with the hotel.
Excellent helpful staff, great pool”
This was our second stay at the Sokha Phnom Pehn and enjoyed it as much as the first time. I had a massage this time at the spa and Lin was an excellent masseuse. We also enjoyed our meals at the roof top restaurant. The wait staff and manager provided friendly, professional, attentive service. We love the pool. Not sure why there is never more than 2 or 3 other people at the pool but it was lovely and warm, clean and the largest pool we have ever had the opportunity to enjoy.
We stay in Phnom Penh quite a bit and enjoyed being on the quiet side of the river for a change. Our spacious room, huge pool, and the courteous staff made our stay memorable. The complimentary ferry to the casino and commercial side of the river was a plus. The hotel was a good value through our promotional price through Agoda.
Dear William, Greetings from Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel & Residence! Thank you for taking your time to write us about your experience. We were thrilled to know that you enjoyed our facilities and satisfied with the service provided by our hotel staff. While hoping to welcome you again in the near future. Best Regards, Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel & Residence
Excellent Hotel with incredibly friendly staff”
I really loved this hotel. The rooms, service and friendliness of the staff was top notch. I would very much recommend anyone to stay at this fine hotel. The only issue of course is the distance from the airport. The hotel charged us around $30 for booking a taxi from the hotel to the airport and it took us around 40 minutes to get there with some busy traffic moments. Definitely plan ahead if you have a busy schedule and early flight.
Nice rooms but location is out of the way”
Luxurious hotel at affordable room prices but the location was a bit remote. Although there was a constant supply of Tuk Tuks it was some distance from popular tourist spots. The staff were friendly but seemed a little green. Perhaps I was expecting a little too much given this is a relatively undeveloped country and I was comparing this to the service of equivalent five star hotels in major cities like Hong Kong or Bangkok.
Royal Suite Party”
Royal Suite at the SPPH was very impressive indeed, incredibly large and luxurious.. Lots of different amenities including a kitchen, but lacked some essentials like coffee for the coffee machine, pots to cook with etc. Better for a bachelor party rather than a serviced apartment with family. Relatively expensive for the standard of living there and compared to other rooms of the hotel.
Very good hotel but the safety box Not secured ”
I love this hotel only one thing I found out this is weird. 1. I had put my money in side the safe box in my room which is providing by the hotel ,unfortunately at the end I guess some one entry my safe box and stealing my money but not all the deposit , just some deposit .... I should notice this when I try to entry my safe box but the password error and I have to called the reception sad I should be careful more ... but the hotel environment very romantic , food was so so
Good Hotel, Big Room, Nice View”
The hotel has a big room but it's quite far from the lift (has to walk around 5 minutes from the lift to the room. It's location is not in the downtown (around 30 minutes by Tuk Tuk to downtown). The view is nice (can see the river and downtown).
Good but far”
Good hotel but its far away from main attraction. I liked it for the reason its beand new at the time. Its now very expensive, for this hotel today's price there are many other great hotels in the heart of phonm penh at a better rate. I wouldnt stay here again unless the price come down
It has spacious rooms”
it was not bad to stay there but it is quite difficult to access to town. it has very wide swimming pool but they mostly close at 6pm and spa and massage room is quite odd to me which is too deep inside of extra building. anyway it value for money i paid
A fine hotel”
This is one of the finest hotels Ive stayed in. Cant really fault it apart from being so big. Everything is hugh, especially the pool which seems to be twice the size of an Olympic pool. A football field could easily fit inside the lobby. Sokha PP was great and I will stay there again.
Great Refreshing Stay”
We have lived in Phnom Penh for nearly 7 years now and enjoy being able to get away for some rest and relaxation. Our stay at the Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel was wonderful. We have stayed at their other Sokha Hotels in Seam Reap and Sihanoukville and really enjoyed them too. Therefore, it was an easy decision to choose staying at the Sokha in Phnom Penh. The hotel is absolutely beautiful with wonderfully comfortable rooms. We enjoyed many great meals in their various restaurants and also had room service. All the staff were very polite and enjoyed serving us. Our stay was fantastic and I would highly recommend this hotel. Furthermore, my husband and I will plan to stay as this beautiful resort again!
Friendly staff but can be over done but hey I would prefer a friendly hotel staff than a rude and unwelcome atmosphere. Bit far from main city but I would stay again for comfort. Tuk tuk to cross the river $5USD one way.
Not that good”
Its quite far from the city. You got to go a big round across the river to the other side. Its a big hotel. The food at the restaurant was not good. I booked a suite room. The aircon had very high ceiling so the aircon was not effective. Something really was missing. If u are stuck in traffic it takes about 20 minutes to get to the city. The view was good but overlooking the river which was totally unsightly because of the river which was very dirty. Overall experience was ok. Dont expect too much.
Opened recently, transported by time machine from the 70’s?”
Huge, empty open spaces. Not well laid out. If this is 5 star then Holiday Inn is a 10 star. Breakfast was vast and awful. Getting to the city is mind numbing. Many, many better places in the city for half the price.
We enjoyed our stay at Sokha PP. Service was delightful, the spaces are both welcoming and spacious. The rooms themselves are thoughtfully fitted out, with the little touches making it most accomodating.
