Wangburapa(rhymes with Wangaratta)”
Decent hotel. A little faded perhaps, but clean and tidy. Domestic staff very flexible with cleaning arrangements if you want to lie in. Breakfast is a bit monotonous if you stay more than a couple of nights.
Nice place good times”
Pool water a little on the cold side, the breakfast is not all that good. Otherwise hotel is in really good location near to the heart of town. Just at 15 min if that walk to good night life. Would recomend.
Good location, rooms facing the street are very noisy due to street traffic, opt for a pool/parking lot facing room more quieter. Location is good , breakfast options are very boring after 2 days stay, not really worth the money since there are more food options nearby. 3 stars .. over all ok....
Good hotel to stay at in Chiang Mai”
Good spacious room. Safe and fridge and tea and coffee and kettle. Pool was quite nice but was quite small. Towels for pool available. Helpful staff at desk. Breakfast no milk and cold eggs but the rest was good. Good location in city just by city gate. Could walk to old town temples and market.. I would stay again.
The room was clean and spacious. The staff was very nice, especially the bellman and the front desk. My only complaint was with the breakfast. It was a disappointment simply because it was not more than adequate. Thailand is a tropical country with an abundant selection of fruit, but the only fruit available every day for thirteen days was watermelon and pineapple. The bread was also very cheap white bread.
The location was super in old city, the breakfast was one of the best, never made it to the pool but looks nice. The travel/trip gentlemen was fantastic we booked all our tours with him, great value, felt very safe, clean. The only con was rock hard bed and I mean rock hard like other reviews said they were not kidding.
Great location with plenty of food stalls within walking distance; Red Cab taxi is available just outside the hotel. Staff are excellent and breakfast is served as early as 6am which makes it convenient to those going for early trip to Chiang Rai.
Kind staff, great position”
I have bene there 26 days and nights and I miss the staff. My rom was Nice, Well cleaned everyday And The breakfast is great And The position Very Good in The old city few minutes walking From everywhere. And the breakfast is cool as The chef Pea. Its a Good 3 star.
Great hotel. Uncomfortable beds.”
Liked the location, staff, and room. Pool was nice too. Breakfast selection was weak. Thai beds are usually uncomfortable but these were the hardest and most uncomfortable beds ever. Besides that it was a decent place. Might not stay again because of the beds though.
Nice place to stay- great location (walking distance to places to eat and shop). Near the night market (can be reached by a short tuktuk ride). Breakfast was subpar, but it was complimentary so can't complain there. Great value hotel for your money!
We had an interconnecting room, beds were very stiff even to asian standards but we slept surprisingly well. Breakfast was included and it was a mix of western/thai, something for everyone.Well positioned near the city wall gates. 7/11 and plenty of restaurants close by. Staff were helpful. Would stay again.
Stayed here for one night last week. The hotel was well located, within walking distance to Chiang Mai Night Bazaar. The staffs were helpful. The beds were a bit hard but still acceptable. The rooms are clean and Wi-Fi was good. The breakfast was buffet style with decent number of choices. I will consider coming back here next time.
Clean, Convenient, Affordable”
We stayed here for three days with two kids aged 3 and 5. The pool was a real convenience. The rooms were large and clean. We liked the dark wood furnishing. However, the hotel walls and floors were not well sound proofed. We had guests above us scraping tables and no doubt our kids occasionally disrupted other guests. Overall we were happy though.
Fantastic hotel & Fabulous staff”
My stay at the Wangburapa has been great. The rooms are nice, the beds are big, clean rooms, Excellent staff that will do anything to help with a smile. great location, I have stayed here before, & will stay here again, all in all a great value for money with Agoda.
bed very hard and long chairs made of wood.. ”
Staff helps you with everything you need. Transport right at your door. Clean. Although the wood long chairs for the pool ducks and beds are very hard. For the smokers they do have rooms. Pool very small but likely they have in the Chiang Mai city. (few of them at this prices)no coffee pot. Good pressure for shower and warm water. Very silent if taken the back.
Big well appointed room, pool, location, parking”
This Hotel did just fine. Didn't have breakfast included and only a twin beds room which we had to move together to make a king-size. The location is great and since we were on big motorcycles, the secure parking was a plus. Will stay here again.
Clean big room free wifi nice bed.”
Nice clean hotel right next to my favorite bar in Chiang Mai, I can literally crawl back after some serious drinking sessions (please drink responsibly). Not that I'm complaining, just that the hotel could do with a better water heater and new BRIGHT bathroom tiles. Will definitely return for many many many stays until the bands at the bar next door get crappy or the rooms at the hotel get old.
Nice hotel centrally located”
This is your standard hotel without much flare or personality. It is comfortable and clean and has most of what you'd expect in your standard hotel. The location is cool as it is on the main ring road around the old city. Tiger Kingdom restaurant is next door which provides great food, drinks and a live band. I don't have any complaints but at the same time the hotel is rather boring and you can find so many other hotels that are nicer for less money.
Good value for money.”
Very good. Clean. Nice design. Great value. The owners have really tried to make this a number one good value city centre hotel; and in true Thai style, they have very nearly succeeded! The Standard Room is nicely designed, with a good bed and plenty of space and all the necessary stuff (safe etc.), but even though the bathroom looks nice & everything works, it is more suited to small Asians than to large Europeans/Americans! Not a major issue, but Giants may wish to choose different accommodation! My only gripe is the interconnecting rooms. You can lock the interconnecting door on both sides, but that doesn't reduce the feeling of being in the same room as other people. I was lucky. My neighbours were quiet; and they would be able to say the same about me. I'd quite happily stay at the Wangburapa again, but probably in one of the higher grade rooms (which are still good value).
My stay was perfect. For the money you will not find a better hotel. Its location is within very easy walking distance from the night life, Nigh Market, the Sunday Market, and all the restaurants. The swimming pool is wonderful and the staff are always there to help you. The hotel has great parking (cars and scooters)which is a great plus. The internet was not very good in the rooms, but who cares... we all have to 'unplug' from time to time (though there are desktops available for free with a very good connection speed off the lobby area).
