Almost perfect stay except for staff kickback”
I had a great stay at the M3 Hotel. The location was excellent, being right in the centre of town and easy to walk to attractions, markets and food. The staff were courteous and friendly and spoke fluent English. I was initially allocated a room which was noisy (being underneath a washing machine on the upper floor) and I was moved to another room without fuss. The room was kept spotlessly clean. The only complaint I had occurred on the last day, when I had to leave for the airport. I requested a taxi, and the staff appeared to call one. It was a rainy day so calling seemed more reasonable than walking outside and hailing a taxi (and it was very early in the morning anyway). 15 minutes later, still no taxi, so I explained that I was in a hurry and asked them to check on the taxi. I was told that it was on the way. 10 minutes later, still no taxi. This time I insisted that they call again to check. After a call, I was told that the taxi was 5 minutes away. Only when it arrived (almost 30 minutes after the initial call) and the taxi driver walked into reception to hand some money to the receptionist did I realise that instead of calling a proper licensed taxi, they had called a friend who was giving them a kickback. This was confirmed when, shortly before reaching the toll booth, the driver reached out and took down the taxi sign from the car roof so as not to get caught. So in conclusion, the hotel is terrific, but watch out for areas where the staff have been corrupted.

Great value because of staff”
We have used the M3 hotel many times and have always found the staff to be excellent. They are kind and helpful and are willing to go out of their way to help you with any issues you might have. We were tired on arrival and used room service in the hotel for the first time. The food was very good and the service was excellent. The prices were very fair. The value for the money that you spend is a great deal.

Exceptional”
The hotel stuff is super friendly & helpful (eg: not just taxi booking, information, trying to negotiate prices etc. but I needed to have a photograph for the visa in Thailand and they have managed to arrange it for me). The facilities, for Mandalay standards, are quite good, and rooms are clean and quite spacious. We actually decided to come back and stay an extra night in their hotel. Also the terrace is overlooking the city and it is a great evening escape. An advice though: don't drink cocktails, take a beer :)

The staff make all the difference”
I love this hotel. My initial impression was not great. First of all, despite my instructions to Agoda to request airport transfer, and my follow up email to the hotel to confirm, nobody showed up to pick me up. This actually turned out to be fine, though, as Air Asia, and other airlines flying into Mandalay, offer a free transfer bus to the city center of Mandalay, which is very near the hotel (then only $1 with a motorcycle taxi to the hotel), so I ended up unintentionally saving a chunk of change. I was also not impressed with the carpeted room, as I generally find carpeting to be much less clean than tiled floors, but actually it was fine. The bathroom was very modern, bright and clean with a high-pressured hot-water shower. The bed was super comfy. Wifi was pretty fast at night and adequate enought throughout the day (you can not expect too much yet in this regard in Myanmar.) Staff was super friendly and helpful, especially Miss May. They were able to answer every question I had, helped arranged motorbike taxis, offered me advice on restaurants, told me where to get a SIM card, booked a very comfortable mini bus to Bagan for me, and had a lighthearted sense of humor that is sometimes missing in this part of the world. Breakfast buffet was also excellent. I would definitely stay here again.

Very Nce hotel in Mandalay”
I really liked the M3 Hotel. The room was large, clean and well maintained. The bed was comfy. Good shower. The spa was good. The breakfast was ok - it would have been nice to finished later than 9am but at least it got me out of bed. I arrived at 8.30am and they let me check in early and have breakfast. The people at reception were very helpful and friendly. The location was good. The Wi-Fi was ok - not great but good enough.

Well located. Closed to the market, street food , few restaurant around. Mandalay is not for pedestrian but still ok to walk around. Good sized room . Clean. Staff helpful. The rooftop is not great. No bars on rooftop, no lights at night, bad shape. You just don t want to use it. The owner should improved this.

The Staff makes this hotel special”
The room we were given at check-in had a strong odor that I think was insecticide so after a few hours of trying to air out the room we asked front desk for a different room which they helped us to move to with no objection. Our room was a little tight but clean with comfortable beds, TV with BBC, good if a little slow internet, and good bathroom. The breakfast, included in the price of our room, had good variety and quality. Location is very central within easy walking distance to eating, shopping and the Royal Palace. Overall the hotel is a decent value but what made it seem special to us was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Everyone we dealt with from front desk, to breakfast servers to security staff seemed genuinely eager to please. We enjoyed our stay and plan to return later in our trip.

Dated hotel in a good location”
The M3 Hotel is located very close to the palace and other important sites in Mandalay. The property is dated and needs upgradation in terms of maintenance and the staff in general needs to be more enthusiastic in their service. Particularly the night staff needs to be a bit more proactive and responsive and spontaneous in their approach. Perfect Hotel in Mandalay”
The hotel is ideally located just 2 blocks from the Old Royal Palace & 2 blocks from the old Scott's Markets. The room facilities were superb as was the staff & service. Food was generous (buffet breakfast - Chinese/Western). Reception went above normal standard providing guests with tour maps, hotel cards & arranging tours (all at reasonable prices). If you don't want to eat in there are several local restaurants just around the corner.

I had a fabulous time at this hotel. The room was fabulous, the service great, the location good as well. I ate and had a beer at the sunset bar which is also good and a great price. I think it is very under rated at only 2 stars. I would highly recommend this to anyone.

In the center of Mandalay.”
We can say only the best about the hotel and its excellent staff. However, do not take a room in the 7th floor since the hotel laundry and a kind of carpenter workshop get very noisy very early. After 1 sleepless night we moved to the 5th floor. The hotel has free bikes for its guests.

excellent staff, great location”
We had a 10+ day stay at this hotel and it was definitely a great value for the price we paid $30-32/nt . It may be biased but we used to live on the same 26b street a block away so it was a perfect location for us right in the center of city. Restaurant has decent food and reasonably priced. Breakfast is almost same everyday but can't complain coz it doesn't taste bad to me. Service is excellent as you would expect in burma

Very confortable, great buffet breakfast”
The staff was amazing. They let us check in early and have an extra breakfast without charging extra for it. The breakfast was a very big buffet with lots of tasty options. The room was very clean and with good AC. Nicely located within walking distance from lots of activities and the Air Asia shuttle bus. We would def come back to this hotel.

I really enjoyed this hotel and would stay here again. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. The breakfast buffet was not bad and the other dishes served in the restaurant were very good, and cheap. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location seemed to be very good as well.

Good. Good room, good restaurant, very nice staff. On the negative side: the elevator begins on the 2nd floor and the stairway from the vestibule is downright ugly in otherwise pretty hotel. The rooftop bar is... better don't ask. Overall a good place.

5 star service at 3 star price”
Very pleasant. Very motivated and helpful hotel staff from the guard/doorman to housekeeping. Doorman always give a warm welcome smile everytime we enter the hotel. Desk clerks and hotel manager helped us organize day tours, taxis, give directions etc.
