Beautiful Hotel with a great view”

The Maan Mek Talay !Mok Resort is in a beautiful garden. The rooms are nice and quiet. The breakfast was very good. We used this hotel as a basis to visit Phu Kradueng National Park and Erawan cave.

PLEASENT STAY IN REMORE AREA”

If you want to see the Phu Krandueng mountain, then you can stay at Maan Mek Talay Mok Resort for a night. The location is in totally remote area and any visitor should bring his own food and drinks along with his stay. The rooms are modern double bungalows with two room, and even though we have booked and paid for two rooms, the staff tried to put us into the same bungalow. If you are fond of pure nature, here you are at the right place.

Stunningly beautiful location”

This is very nice "resort" in one of the most stunningly beautiful landscapes one can see, nestled within a national park. It's no reflection on the resort, but as elsewhere in Thailland rampant agricultural expansion mostly of sugar cane is being extended right up to park and protected area boundaries. This land use is totally incompatible with these natural landscapes and terribly compromises the beauty of the area. Forests are being cleared, massive soil erosion is occurring and agrichemicals are polluting soil, waters bodies, and even fish and wildlife. Glyphosate (roundup), the cancer causing herbicide is the main chemical used in Thailand's sugar cane industry, has been found contaminating the environment everywhere sampling has been done in the country, with areas of Nan Province adjacent to Loei Province was recently reported to be a Toxic disaster by Thai PBS. So, despite the beauty of this location (if you steer your eyes away from the sugar cane) and the qualities of this hotel, the experience is less than it should or could be.

idyllic place”

Although I live in Thailand, this was my 1st trip to the area. It will not be my last. The scenery is remarkable and the people, including the staff at this resort are a throwback to the Land of Smiles that Thailand was. The welcome was sincere and friendly and the rooms clean, and comfortable (although beds/pillows may be a little hard for some Westerners. The food and service in the restaurant was 1st class. Only issue is that there is a campsite nearby which facilitated loud karaoke until midnight on one night of our stay. Out of the hotels control obviously and, moreover, out of keeping with the setting. Do not let this deter you however - this is a wonderful resort in an amazing location.

Beautiful, but avoid if there's a party”

We paid more than we would normally for this type of 3 star resort because the location and wooden rooms looked beautiful. On arrival we weren't disappointed, and were considering booking a second night. The gardens are very nice, the rooms lovely and the view from the room spectacular. Dinner was very nice and reasonably priced. Unfortunately, it was all down hill for us from there. A large group turned up for a party, and a large sound system was started for the karaoke. We had booked the resort with the aim of relaxing in a nice peaceful rural location after walking up Phu Kradeung and camping on previous nights. I wasn't very happy, as the nice wooden rooms, have pretty much zero sound proofing, so if there is a party it feels like the room is in the middle of it. We asked the owner when the party would finish, and she said she didn't know, and sorry but they booked the party 3 months ago. She later asked them to finish at 11pm (after my wife complained), and they actually did turn off the karaoke, eventually at 11:30pm. Not that late really I guess, but it hadn't been a relaxing evening, and the large group of chickens woke me up with constant crowing from 5am, so I wasn't all that happy the next day. I don't think having that type of party with deafening karaoke is compatible with selling 2500 baht rooms to people looking for a quiet and relaxing retreat in the mountains. If the owner has a booking for a party 3 months in advance, I'd suggest in future she doesn't take bookings from other guests for that night. Breakfast was poor also - instant coffee, no fresh milk, no fruit, those round fried eggs, deep fried hotdogs etc, not what I'd expect in this price bracket

Beautiful Place”

We have been there for a short stay, only one night after Christmas ... The weather is so fresh even it was not cold as we expected. The staffs also good take care for us. If you would like to relax ..away from crowded you must be here. There is no 24hrs convenient shop or Wi-Fi but with the surrounding of this resort you will forget everything about that!

For prpbably the first time I can honestly recommend a place I have stayed at in Thailand. Not that other places haven't been nice enough but had some issues, with this place if you looking to see something a little different for Thailand this could be it.

Wir haben 6 Tage dort verbracht. Was herausragend ist an dieser Location ist die Freundlichkeit und Hilfsbereitschaft des Personals. Die Einrichtung der Zimmer ist minimal, dafür ist die Sauberkeit überdurchschnittlich. Es ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen und Biketouren.

Traumhaft”

Ein Stück vom Paradies, einfach traumhaft. Und das Personal ausserordentlich angagiert. Das Inhaberpaar hoch anständig und liebenswert.
