Excellent staff service & Nice room”
We were a group of 2 and we stayed here for 4 nights. It is located at Chungking mansion in Tsim Sha Tsui area, along Nathan road, and is very close to MTR exits. Checked in very late at around 11:30pm and was greeted by the friendly staff there, Mr. Sooki (?). Our room is located at the 15th floor, Marigold Hostel. We didn’t have much expectation since it is a budget hotel after all but we were surprised to see that the room is quite nice. Outside our room is a water dispenser for hot & cold water, refrigerator and microwave oven. The room also has a hot & cold shower, a TV and an aircon (hair dryer is not working, though). Wifi is pretty strong, too. They clean our rooms and take out our trash when we were not around though, which were a bit uncomfortable for us. But since we always went out early morning and go back very late since we were touring the city, we just get used to it since it was not that big of a deal. After checking out on our last day, and since our flight is at night, they offered us to leave our luggages in their lobby so we can have extra time to tour without our heavy luggages and we were thankful for that. Overall, it was a nice hotel and would recommend to other budget travellers like us.

The location of the guesthouse was very strategic...Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station just outside of the bldg. The room was compact I must say but very clean and has it's own bathroom, tv, ref and aircon. There's also free distilled hot and cold water as well as microwave oven for the guest in the common area. You can also leave your luggage until 6 pm after check-out. I highly recommend this place.

The ground floor of Chungking Mansions is very crowded and full of merchants and stores, run mostly by South Asians. This area is a smorgasbord of people from all parts of the world, with a considerable number of Indians, Africans, as well as Caucasians and East Asians. The lifts were tiny, with room for up to only seven people, and the lines were long especially during the evenings. My friends were not pleased with the bustling atmosphere downstairs but I found it just fine, since we were staying in a backpacker hostel and I was willing to immerse myself into the culture. The room was small but clean and well-maintained. The staff were friendly and accommodating, despite the language barrier. There was a fridge and safe for valuable items. The beds were comfortable, the airconditioning was great, and the shower had heating. The location is perfect, just a few minutes' walk away from the Star Ferry Pier. I think it's the perfect location in Hong Kong to be. My only problem was the tiny lifts, really! Would recommend this to anyone who doesn't mind the busy

I’ve been coming to the Chunking Mansions since almost 8 years ago and i can say they're great for people who are looking for a great accommodation place and central. The Mabuhay hotel staff was great, they kept our luggage for a day while we traveled around, the place was clean and nice and totally recommended for those who are traveling on a budget.

The location is really good (a block or so from the MTR and the harbour), the rooms are clean and quiet (I was even upgraded to a larger room free of charge), and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The WiFi also works very well, which is not always the case elsewhere. The next time I visit Hong Kong I'll be sure to stay there again.

Very Accomodating”
I am aware of how costly accommodations in HK are so I didn't expect too much for the budget that I allotted for our hotel. But this hostel exceeded my expectation. We were set for a basic room at Chungking Mansion (messy and noisy place as you may be aware of), the only amenities are basic bedroom with heater in the shower and wifi. However, upon our check-in, we were assisted by Mr. Pintu to the owner's other building which is more peaceful, clean, secured and homey. No roaches at all. It is clean, with free toiletries. They also have an eating area outside the room (with fridge, hot & cold water, and oven) which made us save a lot (we bought grocery foods) coz restaurants outside are very expensive. The only thing my mother noticed is the hole in the comforter but for me it's no big deal given that we booked a low-cost accommodation. Credits to Mr. Pintu for assisting us in details from start to end. I would consider getting the same hotel when I go back with my partner. ^_^

· What can I say - it is not the cheapest hotel but it is amazing. We were in the 11 th floor and were lucky to have a room overlooking the which was amazing for the light show in the evening. If you get the chance stay in this hotel if only for one night like us. did not think was bad considering where we were. The rooms is small are amazing - the best bed and pillows I have ever had and the staff are so polite and attentive. If I have the opportunity I will definitely return

Accessible, good place to stay”
Im so amazed of the place because it was so convenient to go to the hotel. Just took 1bus from airport to hotel. Though the place was not really familiar,it’s easy for us find the hotel. We were 3 women and we really felt security at the building. Atleast we enjoyed our stay and it’s really enjoying. I’ll definitely get back to that hotel once I go again at HK. Thumbs up also for the staff they are really accomodating and kind. More power!! ☺️

There is no word that can describe this guesthouse's wonderful and friendly staff, they made my stay so enjoyable from the beginning till the end. The cleanliness of the room was nothing but excellent. Despite the language barrier between me and the manager, there was little to no issue in communication. I was even given recommendation of places which were a must go. I would recommend this hotel to everyone who wants to feel right at home and have a comfortable stay.

Very good location. Rooms are dirty. Sheets are dirty with stains. The bathroom drainage smells and is the smallest I've seen. There is always a line for the elevator. The stairwell stinks because that is where all the garbage from the rooms are stored before collected from the building. I am speaking not only for Mabuhay Hotel but for all the hotels located at Chungking Mansion. I am never coming back there.

The world in a single building”
Arriving late at night to this hotel. There are hawkers outside selleing everything from tailors to rooms & 'massages.' Upon arrival it is best to orientate yourself to the elevator you require (there are banks of elevators A-F) and which floor you require (each bank has 1 to the odd floors, & 1 to the even.) If you need to go to floor 17, you will have to go to #16, and walk up the stairs. The banks are located around the main floor off Nathan road. Clean rooms & good staff although they may not speak the best english.

The rooms are smaller than in picture. We expected to get a 3 beds in our room, but only got 2 queen size beds. But the location is very convenient near tsim tsat sui. Pretty clean too, but the building is crowded.
