Best hotels & accommodations in Mae Haad

We got a free room upgrade for our honeymoon which was awesome. The location is a quick 3 minute walk to the pier and all the restaurants in Mae haad. We stayed 3 nights in one room and decided to extend our stay and had to switch to a new room. The first room had working AC but the room wasn't frozen. The second had AC that was in full force. It is Thailand an every n...

We stayed in the Superior Hut which was great for us, really lovely bungalows in nature and such a peaceful place. Great buffet breakfast and arguably the best set up on the entire beach for relaxation - beach lounges, elevated day beds, beach bar and tyres for use in the water. We didn't have dinner at the restaurant as it was fairly pricey compared to other good rest...

Accommodation was beautiful on the beachfront. Water was clear and beach was cleaned every morning by lovely staff. We loved the location and found Mae Haad a lot cleaner and more friendly than Sairee Beach. Prandees restaurant was excellent with authentic thai food at great prices (next to Ananda villas near pier. Reception and all staff were brilliant Thai food at r...

We liked our room so much, it's cleaned up perfectly every day. Fluffy nice towels provided. The best thing was its quietness, you hear nothing but only waves coming and going while sleeping, which was absolutely lovely. We stayed at superior pool view, but you can see the sea too from your room actually. The shower was good although you have to wait for a while to get...

We really enjoyed staying here. It's walking distance to Mae Haad but yet away from the hazzle and noise at night. Nice and beautiful garden. Will definitively stay here next time. We come back every year and have tried a lot of places on this island, this is very nice.

Enjoyed my stay in one of the large new bungalows. The best part of the stay was the super friendly and helpful staff! As for the resort itself, it is conveniently located in the center of Mae Haad, close to the ferry piers. Lots of restaurants around. Quiet in the evening due to being situated in a 'backyard' garden.

Clean well appointed apartments with great views over Mae Haad port and Sensi beach Close to loads of restaurants and bars but nice and quiet after 11pm so a good nights sleep was never a problem. With the beach and great snorkelling right on your doorstep there is always plenty to see & do here. Not the cheapest accommodation on the island but you are paying for the l...

This hotel is a gem. It's not directly on the beach, but just a short walk to Mae Haad beach and then to Saari beach, which is much nicer. It's very close to a great massage place: Royal thai massage, and all the restaurants on the two main streets. It was very quiet and peaceful- great for a relaxing vacation.

Me and my boyfriend stopped here 6 nights. First of all it’s tucked away from the Main Street which is nice as it’s not loud with people but it’s easy to get to shops etc. When we arrived it’s a little easy to miss but we managed to find it and the staff from the reception was lovely. She even helped us with booking a ferry and coach back to Bangkok 👍. The WiFi is sur...

The room was very comfortable, with nice modern Ikea furniture and lighting. Even though the guesthouse is right on one of the main roads in Mae Haad, our room was toward the back and so very quiet. If you are diving or snorkeling or just hanging out in Ko Tao, I would highly recommend Infinity Guesthouse. Its central location made it very easy to get wherever we wa...

we loved this place so much we book and extra few days. our room was lovely, clean, had a cute balcony and great view of the beach which is all of 15 meters away. the staff were very friendly and helpful. the location was perfect (3 minutes’ walk from the ferry), we were right in the middle of the mae haad and sairee beach (the 2 main bays) so it was easy enough to...

We stayed at the Simple Life resort for 5 nights. You do not pay much for a private 'house'. The room is not that big, but we found it big enough. The bathroom is quite large. On the first day we had no warm water and there are no windows in the room. Only some open windows. Not that well for the mosquitos of course. We contacted the staff and the boiler was fixed righ...

Stayed in Black Wood with a friend two nights ago. Was pleasantly greeted by a local who had good English and supplied us with plenty of advice and recommendations by writing and circling out things on a map, which he then gave to us. Later that night we asked him which was the best way to grab a taxi to the bars, and he voluteered to give us a lift free of charge. If ...

Nadapa Resort is a very nice and quite modern hotel (except for the TV, but who goes to Thailand to watch TV...), which is located very close to the Mae Haad pier. The rooms were clean, shower and toilet were working well. From the balcony you have a nice view to the mountain and you even can see the sea. The staff are super friendly. The hotels has no restaurant, b...

I have been traveling for a long time in Asia, and this spot wasn’t the worst , but not the best either. The staff didn’t speak English very well but with the app you can get done everything you need. The place is super simple, and if you want a spot to just sleep and keep your stuff, go for it. But if you want to relax seeing the ocean, or eat something good while rea...

We stayed in a bungalow that has pretty much everything you could ask for: comfy beds, en-suite bathroom, safe box, fridge and fan (optional aircon paying extra). The price is more than reasonable and it's located in a quiet area close to the beach and pier. Last but not least, the owner is v friendly and the most helpful member of staff we have found so far.

What can I say about Queen resort, it was very, charming? Nah it was really cool to be honest, I saw some reviews about the area of the bungalows being quite dirty, and it is, but it’s not the worst, we didn’t know what we were being led to when the lady on the desk walked us round, but the room was actually quite nice! Felt like we had gone back to the 70s but was act...

Right next to the pier but 15 min walk to the main beach. Thankfully Bro&Sis were the only bar/lobby open late in the area with a great fun vibe that had a few pool tables and music so it made it worth being further away. We had the basic double room but the view was literally bars facing a contruction building you could probably touch if you opened the window, on anot...

Very odd reception at the rear of nice little restaurant near pier( Good cheap eats here too and cheap motorbike hire). The rooms, however, were spacious, clean and fairly new. This place is a winner in Koh Tao especially at the discounts you can get on Agoda.

When we have arrived at guesthouse she showed us the room and asked us to come to reception once ready so she could show us some great spots on the map (beach, restaurant, etc.). Her suggestions were great. She also helped us with motorbike rental. She called the guy and after 10 min motorbike was infront of the guesthouse. She is really nice person and it was really p...

great staff and chill atmosphere. i was there in march so afternoons were pretty hot and the ac wasn't enough to keep me fresh on the upper bed. lower beds are fine :) breakfast is pretty decent. great place to meet other travellers - specially if you speak spanish.

i book two nights ended up staying 5 the owner is so nice and welcoming she makes you fell at home and she cooks thai food every night which is good food. the facilities are a bit basic and the shower lacks water presser but you get what you pay for. but if you are looking for a nice friendly place with a lovely own who makes you fell at home then this is the place fo...

terribly dirty. Been travelling all over thailand and know that maintenance hasn't been MAINTAINED! Dirty bed, dirty towels, insects both dead and alive, only a fan which was no problem but the window couldn't open. there's a difference between rustic and just plain dirty. Not recommended. I asked for a refund because there was no way I was going to stay there but they...

I stayed at this place for two nights and I enjoyed the stay since it's in walking distance from the pier and has a really nice beach a few minutes away as well. It does get quite loud during the evening since it's rather a bar/party hostel. So if you're looking for partying and a few funny nights your at the right spot, but if your staying longer and want to really en...

We only had one night booked and ended up staying for 3 and wanted to stay for another noght but couldn't because they were fully booked then. The lady at the desk is very helpful and polite and she speaks good English. The WIFI is great, the view was great and the value for money was great even though we stayed in high season. It's a short distance between Sairee Be...

I stayed here during May and the fan dorm was stuffy and HOT AS HELL. It's hotter in there than it is outside, even with the windows open and three fans blasting. I'm sure it's fine during the milder months, but during the hot season, AC all the way. Staff aren't super friendly but they will help you with what you need and book stuff for you. Rooms were clean - fan do...

Simply the best stay in thailand so far because of the staff which is jack who basically does everything serves in the bar, cooks, cleans rooms and basically everything else, when we got there we decided to stay another night and paid upfront but when we went to book our boat ticket to bAngkok it was sold out till 8 days later which would of meant us missing our flight...

This is the cheapest hotel on the island for a reason. It is a concrete hot box in the middle of the not-so-charming busy area of Mae Haad. This is cheap, but it is much better to shell out the extra cash as stay somewhere a bit nicer. Was handy to have a place to stay near the pier when we got off the ferry.

Easy to find, a short walk up the hill from ferry. Receptionist is friendly and helpful. Close to activities, bars and restaurants in Mae Haad and Sairee beaches but not so close that you're kept awake at night by noise. Balcony is a nice bonus. The large gap at bottom of bedroom door, noisy bed and lack of wardrobe and/or dresser are odd but manageable.

terribly dirty. Been travelling all over thailand and know that maintenance hasn't been MAINTAINED! A bit hard to find at first. First you need to find the Info shop, located 40 meters more away from Mae Haad than the rooms and the sign on the picture. Room not great but not bad either. 2 fans. Fridge is large but smelled a bit and the smell stuck to your drinks. Overall not bad, would book again, if the options were as limited as they were around new years when I wa...
