A slice of heaven!”
Our stay at the Mae-Sa was so exceptional we decided to double our stay. Originally staying for 3 nights and we ended up staying for 7 nights. It was superb value for money, set high up in the mountains, it was peaceful, tranquil and the grounds were kept constantly immacculate. We arrived to be greeted by the receptionist who took us straight up to reception. We had a speedy check-in and our heavy bags were whisked away to our rooms. The lodge we stayed in, set amongst others, made from bamboo, was absoloutely gorgeous with its own veranda. It was spotlessly clean with very few bugs. We were overlooking the clean, clear water, swimming pool and had amazing views of the surrounding areas. There were so so many highlights to our stay here but the staff had to top those highlights. Great english, great advice, exceeded all of our expectations and made us feel like family, the staff even allowed us to use their computer and printer when we needed too. The wildlife in the surrounding areas was also fantastic, from beautiful butterflies, to birds of paradise and even geckos. Also there were the resident cats who also had many kittens. We would HIGHLY recommend this resort to any visiting near, or around chiang mai. The hotel wifi was great in all areasof the resort. The 45km taxi ride from the Train Station was pleasent and was a great opportunity to take in the scenery. Quite simply, nothing spoilt this trip or our stay. We would both love to return in the near future. The resort is within walking distance or a very short ride from local elephant tours, pata caves, mae sa waterfalls, tiger kingdom, monkey school and many other activities which the staff will gladly help you to arrange. A huge thankyou to the resort and its staff for our slice of heaven. We look forward to seeing you one day in the future. With love Ryan and Annie
Really nice hotel, so beautiful, lovely staff”
I wish i had just booked this the 1st day i arrived at Chiang Mai. This place was just perfect. I dont even know why anyone gives it a bad review. Just because i trusted the mixed reviews here, I ended up getting a hotel near the airport. I never realised the place could be so beautiful. The only drawback was the transport, you need to pay 500 baht for one way for any place around the strip. But this isnt just for Mae Sa Valley, we had to pay the same just to go from Four Seasons to our place. Moreover, anyone complaining about the room not having a tv and all that, please dont fall for the negative comments. Once u go there, u realise the place is meant to be like that! Perfect for couples. So romantic. The staff were more helpful than the staff we met at Four Seasons (no offence). Oh and if you are Muslim, you can find a wide range of Halal food here. Adjust a little according to the area and you will love ur stay here. P.S. Everything closes at 5 here and you need a booking for every place you want to go to.
The peace that I needed”
I have to say if you are visiting Chiang Mai, Mae Sa Valley Garden Resort is where you need to stay if you are looking for a peaceful tranquil environment. If you are one of those that needs to be connected to the nearest shopping district or bars, then this place is not for you. This is the place you come to for full rest and relaxation. The beauty of this place's location just makes you feel one with the earth. It is a truly splendid location and is great for those who want to get away from it all.
Shot Stay at Mae Sa valley Grden Resort”
We enjoyed our short stay at Mae Sa Valley Garden Resort. The location is excellent and the views are superb. The rooms are traditional Lanna style timber buildings with lovely decorations. The resort was much bigger than I expected; over 40 rooms spread out on a hillside. Most were a long walk from the dining room along rough stone and concrete paths, with very many steps. I was surprised there was no telephone in our room and a kettle would have been welcome.
Relaxing stay at a beautifulhotel”
We stayed six nights at Mae Sa Valley Garden Resort after a hectic 6 days in Chiang Mai Old City. The grounds here are an absolute delight with stunning gardens complete with a little stream and romantic bridge. The staff were very attentive and nothing was too much of a problem. We enjoyed the food here as well. We had the honeymoon cottage - a romantic and quaint cottage with beautiful double bed and mosquito net. The room was clean and had everything we needed. We used the resort as a base for exploration so we did hire a car. We found this extremely useful as it would have been difficult to get around without our own wheels. The Queen Sirikit Botanical Gardens are nearby and well worth the visit. The strawberry farm at the resort is the best in the region consistently producing the yummiest strawberries! Also, dont miss the opportunity to visit the craft village on the grounds and participate in an activity or two (bookings required). We made Saa Paper and had a ball! You can attend a cooking class, do ceramic painting or paint parasols. We really enjoyed our stay here and were sad to leave.
Idyllic getaway hotel close to nature”
The hotel stay was a great opportunity to enjoy nature and the plentiful sights of the Mae Rim and Chiang Mai areas. Close to the city but not too close. Visits to Queen Sirikit Botanical Gardens, Mae Sa Waterfall, Mon Chem, Mon Tawan, Doi Suthep Temple, Bhubing Palace etc. etc. So much to see, so little time.....we will be back, that's a promise!
Beautiful location, but can be difficult without transport ”
Mae sa valley is really beautiful. A tranquil place approx 50 mins drive from the madness of Chiang Mai. Fabulous gardens with gorgeous flowers and very well located to walk down to the Queens botanic gardens which are well worth a visit. There is also a lovely riverside restaurant located on site. What we found was travelling from the valley to Chiang Mai was expensive and difficult even from early evening as nobody seemed to want to drive us up there. I would recommend using uber (much cheaper than anything else we used) if you don't have your own transport. I would also recommend splashing out if you can. Our cabin was completely adequate but some of the others looked much nicer.
Super beautiful place”
It is very beautiful place to stay in Mae Sa Valley Garden Resort. Just staying inside without going out somewhere else, it is beautiful enough. Strongly recommended for those prefer quiet environment and beautiful natural view especially for family. Fantastic!
Place so Beautiful ”
It had been amazing experience the past 5 day with Mae Sar Garden Resort But the entran very difficult to get in and specially at night , i hope in the future they mingt fixing it already for all our safety to get inside to enjoys our stay , water at shower room can be more hot easy or faster than they have right now, but do understand because they location in on above hight level may need time to fix and made everything , but after for me it okay to have the under perfect for everything Travel it all about adventure . Thank you to all staff at Mae Sar Garden Resort N.
Beautiful garden resort ”
It is definitely value for money. With beautiful garden next to Mae sa river and surrounded by forest, We could relax and enjoy our stay. It is good for someone escaping from busy city life.
Escape to a Fairyland”
Mae Sa Valley was beautiful! Be warned, it is a bit out of way from town and taxi drivers will charge you but the resort is worth it! The room was very clean and we had no trouble with the hot water. If you want an escape from city life this is the place for you! Bonus: the botanical gardens are within walking distance.
Beautiful garden resort”
it is very relaxing and enjoy lovely garden. It is close to all activities in Mae Rim district.Nice basic room. However it is pretty hilly for elderly.
Family with 4 children stayed for Songrkran week.”
The resort has beautifully maintained grounds and gardens. It is about 30-45 minutes outside of Chiang Mai. Craft village onsite and open with a little notice in the off season. Rent a car or have a driver ready if you want to go anywhere. Staff is extremely friendly and will do anything they can to help. Breakfast is cooked to order. There were only a couple of groups staying so we let them know if they should keep the kitchen open for dinner. Be ready to hike up and down stairs as the resort is on the side of a mountain. Small river runs through the valley that my kids loved to play in.
Good base for day trips.”
A comfortable and friendly resort within easy reach of scenic walking spots (e.g. Mon Jam, Mae Sa Mai, Queen Sirikit Gardens). Beautiful gardens and comfortable pool area.
Close to nature, Peaceful, Restful and Scenic”
The rooms overlooking the gardens was a treat. They were very well maintained and beautiful. Outside the chalet, was a balcony with chairs that one could enjoy reading a book soaking in the serene environment. One could easily spend days on end here enjoying the walks and beautiful nature around you. Some people may not like the fact that the resort is out of town but I loved to be away from it all once in a while.
Large family loving the 'hobbitton' feel.”
We loved this bit of paradise but know it really isn't for everyone. It is built up the sides of a very steep hill, the paths are uneven and stairs are difficult for some. Also it is very out of the way so get all your Chiangmai stuff done before heading out. It is so sweet and magically beautiful it almost doesn't seem real. The workers are all so friendly and go out of their way to make you happy. The Queen Serequit Botanical gardens is right next door. Next time we will plan better to not have to go back into Chiang Mai and instead enjoy the Gardens. The transfer is 200 baht per person. The driver is the sweetest man, I wish we could speak Thai. The breakfast is very basic, try the Thai breakfast soup, it beats the simple ham and eggs. The pool is great, though in Feb. it is very cold, my kids didn't mind but I had to get out and don't forget you're high in mountains and bring warm clothes for evening and morning. There is a great little strawberry farm at the base where you can get wonderful fresh strawberry smoothies. And wandering through T the artist village was sweet, but make an appointment for that ahead of time. Also the whole health center is in disrepair. They said it is being renovated but no signs of that. Overall we loved this place, just know to expect quaint country charm and a hard hike to your room.
Nice- relax stay”
The resort is well-maintained, full of relax atmosphere. We enjoyed walking, exercising up- downs stepping in their lovely garden, refreshing ourselves along a small stream though the valley and exploring the craft village in the resort but not sure how the elder guests would manage to move around the place. The spa parts were still under renovation but we were pleased with just what provided.
Good location, nice scenery, well kept garden”
Great experience. On a mountain near Chiang Mai. Great food. However due to its location you need to climb a hill to get to your room from parking lot. And climb up to get to lobby. Not good for people with bad knees otherwise its a recomended place to go.
Nice for the kids to run around”
The suite was ok for our family (6-10) but for families with small children no. The 2 rooms open out onto an open balcony which is the sitting room. The balcony over looks an amazing tiered garden with a stream running through the property. Great for children to run around. The resort is a long way out of town and unless you have booked a car there is no way to get into town. The hotel was able to book day tours for us. There were craft facilities on the premises which we weren't told about. The food was good and service good as well.
The place was great, very near to so many attractions at Mae Rim. Our only complain is the hot shower. It was not working properly.
