Breathtaking place”
We stayed with a family of 4. We absolutely enjoyed the most stunning scenery at the place. You can overlook all across the valley to 'downtown' Mae Salong, tea plantations and the golden pagoda behind. The host made us feel really welcome and his smiles are the most generous and welcoming ever. Food is excellent. Breakfast was copious and fantastic. Dog lovers will surely enjoy the company of the three big lovely dogs. The last couple of hundred metres might be a bit of a tough drive for unexperienced drivers. I truly recommend staying with this great host.

Good value”
Staffs are so kind and friendly. The owners are so supportive. My mom couldn't walk down hill to the room so the owner offered us a better room With no charge. Good food and service. View is cool. Highly recommended for people who want home style room and service

Secluded place in the moutain”
We went in by riding the motorbike taxi from the main street 7-11. The place is so wonderful overlooking the mountains. And there are 3 lovely big dogs that acted as our tour guide to the nearby tea plantation. The room is just too cold during winter ~ 4 deg at night.

Almost heaven!”
We had stayed in Chiangmai city for a few days and took a motorbike trip covering Chiang Rai, Mae Salong, Phu Chi Fah, Nan and Phayao for the next 5 days. I love Maesalong Mountain Home! Situation about 4km from the little town (there were other guesthouses too), I found this resort tucked in a corner of the mountain charming, quaint and quiet. Amazing mountain views. Literally, a breath of fresh air! It was my most perfect honeymoon stay and sadly, we only stayed for a night as we have a tight itinerary to follow. The chalet and bathroom were clean, cozy and spacious. We sampled the fried Yunnan noodles and fish & chips for dinner. Had the noodles again for breakfast the next morning. The food was generally good and delicious. I missed my brewed coffee but they do not serve any except the ready-mix ones (3-in-1). The owner is friendly, hospitable and helpful when we sought more information on the best route to our next destination. We stopped by the oolong tea plantation and visited the factory on our way out. I would come back to stay here again for sure. For the long and winding journey to Mae Salong, it's better to spend at least 2 nights and explore the town nearby. Highly recommended!

Excellent hospitality from the owner”
Mae Salong Mountain Hill Resorts is small but it offered a superstar hospitality service. Mr. Yong, the owner came to address his guests himself so you can feel a very warm welcome. When we reached the place on July 19, 2012 it was already late since we drove from Chiang Saen (the other side of mountain) with a very relaxing mode, dropping by other touristic places on the way, shooting camera, and stuff. When we arrived we discovered that we were really hungry. After check in to the room (every room has panoramic views of tea plantation and green forest), he hurriedly went to kitchen and cooked us tasty meals. The room was nicely cared after. It was clean and well decorated. You can imagine how you feel like when waking up fresh. That you can find from the Mae Salong Mountain Hill Resorts.

Fantastic place to stay”
My husband and I stayed at Mae Salong Mountain Home for 2 nights and I really wish we had booked to stay longer. The resort is fantastic, amazing views over the tea plantations, great restaurant and the owner is lovely. It is pet friendly as well, having 2 dogs themselves on site, which is a major point for us as we have a Cocker Spaniel. The rooms are nice, comfortable beds and all have a private terrace or balcony and hot showers. Overall I highly recommend this hotel, I cant wait to go back!

very remote small resort with panoramic views”
the hotel is small and remotely located from mae salong, thus not many tourists will find their way to this place. the superiour chalets seem to have the nicer panoramic views to the tea fields. extremely nice views. the garden is nicely maintained, the open-air restaurant is clean. the meals are ok. breakfast is nicer, if you go to mae salong town (small thai bakery is the better alternative to sweet mae salong cafe). for a superior chalet at the price we paid, we found that the hut was a bit too simple in comfort (i.e. we found it a bit too expensive). the moskito net could do with a renewal. we added our own net on the top. the owner and staff of the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful. but overall, we enjoyed the stay very much here.

A beautiful place for nature lover”
You need a professional driver or tour guide to lead you to this place. It's hidden on top of Mae Salong mountain. It has fantastic mountain view, beautiful, and quiet. The entire place has only 10 rooms. The owner Somjit was friendly and accommodating. We only stayed one night and had to continue to Chiang Mai next day. We would have liked to stay at least three nights and explore the area.

Makes along Mountain Home”
I enjoyed my stay at the Mountain Home because it was quiet and beautiful surroundings. There was nothing to do but rest and enjoy the peace. The nearest village Salong is 40 walk, or 10 minute drive. Having been in Asia for a few months I enjoyed the tranquility. Not for anyone looking for night life, I.e bars. But watching the sunset, and relaxing. Food for vegetarian could have been a bit more adventurous, but otherwise I really enjoyed. Staff are helpful and happy.

Lovely hotel looking out over the valley”
We really enjoyed our stay. The location was great as it was quiet with lovely views, but just a couple of minutes outside Mae Salong. Staff were very friendly and helpful and loved our two small children!

Great stay!”
A quiet sanctuary in the mountains with fantastic views. The perfect place to get away from the busy city. Staff was very helpful, even offered to drive us into Chiang Rai to catch our bus. Dining was ok, a little expensive. Recommend the mushrooms in black sauce.

Views you won't find many places”
We stayed one night and it was wonderful. The views are incredible, and each room/bungalow has a porch to take in the view. The staff are so kind. The restaurant up top serves breakfast, European food and Yunnan (Chinese-Thai)-we ate dinner and ordered from each section. It was great! A few things to note: -the drive up is steep and windy, as one might expect going up the mountain. This hotel is at the end of the road going up, truly the last point on the road, which makes for spectacular views. The road is well maintained, but there were a few moments where we questioned if we were going the correct way. It is remote! -Our room was very simple and clean, but it got very COLD at night so pack accordingly. Leave food in cars as we spotted a few ants. For families with small kids, our kids could run around up top while we enjoyed a coffee, and there's a tea plantation near, which wasn't open, but was fun to explore with kids. One night was enough to see the area, but wonderful!

pleasant mountain home away from home”
Although the mountain home was not in tip top condition/cleanliness, it is nonetheless a pleasant stay to all our group members. We just loved the greenery, the natural surroundings and the peace and quiet there. Checking in and out was a breeze....very pleasant! Great stay!
