Exceptional”
I booked Magindara using Agoda.com not sure what to expect, but Ms. Jean was in touch the whole time. She constantly check on us and aware us that we can use the kitchen. Traveling with family, access to kitchen is a must. We rented 3 of those nipa huts and she helped us arrange for an island hopping tour. We went to the local market and their staff Diane escorted us. It was a great experience for us and will definitely come back and recommend to friends and families. On a side note, a little maintenance and hot shower can make Magindara extravagant! The theme is perfect for its location. Very authentic, native, and foreigners appreciate the nipa hut.

Great location and friendly staff”
We had a lovely stay, the staff were very helpful and made sure we had everything we wanted. They organised a great day island hopping for us and organised lunch for the trip which was really tasty and very generously sized! This is really worth the money and takes you to El Nido styles islands which again we enjoyed mostly by ourselves- take a pair of snorkels if you’ve got them we saw clown fish, sea snakes, rock fish and some small reefs. The huts are lovely, the area is developing and was gearing up for more tourists when we stayed but it felt like a little slice of paradise that we had all to ourselves.

Clean. Basic. Wonderful owners.”
Awesome time at magindara. We stayed for 3 nights instead of 1 because we loved the place and the kindness of the owners. We did the island-hopping, the short and the long tour, each day one of them. Completely amazing. Paniman is Off the beaten track all the way.

Nice place and very friendly staff”
Staff are very accommodating and helpful. Although the shower head, bidet, and clothes rack in the rooms could use some replacement. Otherwise this place is perfect.

Overall a nice stay”
We stayed here for 2 nights and the staff were so accommodating and helpful. Food cooked were so authentic and delicious. The only problem was the water and the constant power interruption. But overall it was a nice experience at Magindara :)

Hi Lerry, Thank you for your honest review and we are glad to know you had a good time. Unfortunately, the power supply from the main power source is not enough to sustain the influx of tourists coming in our peninsula. It is a work in progress on the side of our electric company. I hope the staff were able to make the generator ran so at least the fan in your room eased the warm weather. The water also has the same story as the power so we have our own well put due to poor rain at summer time even our well dries up. All the best to you and have a lovely day Magindara Guesthouse

a place like home!”
traveled with family and kids. location is perfect for early morning island tour! remember to be up and witness the sunrise too! our room is of good size for kids to wander around. the staff are soooo nice and very accommodating. the only trouble is the food arrangement. they offer very expensive food service, which later we found out that elsewhere is the same. bring some cooked food or take a habal habal down to "centro" if you have time. get fresh fruits, buy local dried fishes, enjoy the sunset view around the fields!

Thank you so much for your fair review. Unfortunately, the food ingredients are not readily available and quite expensive hence the price for food on our side of town, Nevertheless, I am glad you had a good time. Please feel free to come again on your next holiday.
a little disappointed but okay ”
there is no shared kitchen or even a refrigerator, as is stated on another booking site. No breakfast available, I guess because it was off-season but then that should be removed from the information page. Some of the staff were super friendly, but one was very grouchy. Be aware that only a couple of huts have a view of the ocean. The guesthouse, like all others at this end of Paniman, is across a small sand road from the beach itself. Neighbouring establishments have (or are building) beachside shelters to sit under during the day, but this guesthouse didn't have anything and in fact the beach area in front of it was roped off. So you couldn't really go hang out on the beach during the day if it was sunny. We did like the hut we had, as it was a family hut the closest to the beach with a little porch, and plenty of room inside. We liked the location as it was a few hundred meters south of town and a bit quieter , but that may not be for everyone. 5-10 minute walk into Paniman.

Hi Kevin thank you for your review. Unfortunately, the fridge can be used only when requested by the guests. And the breakfast is non inclusive of the hut price as we are currently the lowest priced accommodation in the peninsula. We do offer it from time to time though just not at the moment. As for the grouchy staff I had addressed that issue and I apologise if it caused you any inconvenience. I believe there is a misunderstanding regarding the roped area infront of the guesthouse. The reason it is roped off is because the accommodation beside us is using it as their carpark and we roped it off so that our guests can enjoy the free space as our guesthouse carpark if they do have cars and if the cars doesn't fit the area in front of the first family cabana. We do have a large sitting area its the cabana style hut with no walls just in front of the Family cabana to be enjoyed by our guests. We will strive to do better. Thank you and all the best.
Good”
The view is not really good, not in front of the sea it is a little bit frustrating. The place is very quiet and I recommend to visit the islands.

End of the beach”
Located about 800m from the village area. No water views. I gave them a printed copy of my booking. It seemed they did not have their own record. I was shown room 6. I asked for the door key. They could not find the key. I was mover to room 7. The room was basic to say the least, double bed with clean linen, mozzie net, aircon unit and wall fan (both worked okay). Nothing else. No wardrobe, shelving, table/desk, chair. You essentially live out of your suitcase. One power point for recharging with your phone on the floor. There were always ants around, sometimes on the bed. The bathroom was a wet room, c/w shower with okay water pressure. No mirror anywhere. I went to the shared toilet so I could shave. No soap is provided only toilet paper. Small porch, wooden table, 2 two short bench seats. Plus a hammock. Meals can be delivered from a restaurant in the village. This property is basic and showing its age.

Incredible value for money”
Cabana very cheap but quite comfortable as there was airco and a fan available. Don’t expect luxury though of course. The até who was doing the laundry and cleaning the rooms was super helpful and very kind. This is not an area where I would spend weeks. The 2 nights/3 days we spent we’re great (bangka tour with some beaches/islands for you alone or almost). Also the bangka tours were passing along small fishing villages. You could really experience with authenticity how people live there. Atmosphere is low-key and is not to be compared with El Nido.
