Bed in 8-Bed Mixed Dormitory Room
Stayed 2 nights in May 2015
Basic conditions, friendly atmosphere”
Value, staff, common space
I stayed in the 6-person mixed dorm with one of my male friends. I'm very glad he was with me because there were 4 men in the room when I was there. I might have felt uncomfortable if he was not with me, but then again, I would have stayed in the female dorm if he wasn't! The common spaces of the hostel (outside patio and inside lobby area) were very nice. They had simple but cute decorations and felt very welcoming. The staff and everyone I interacted with was very friendly. The location is in a very nice area, but a bit hard to locate. The bathroom was the worst part of the experience. I know the ayi cleaned it everyday, but it was still very smelly and dirty. The shower was decent though. No soap or shampoo provided, so bring your own. One last point is that my friend and I wanted to stay out late in the city one night, but the hostel locks the doors at midnight. We made arrangements to call when we got back so someone could let us in, but no one answered so we ended up falling asleep outside on the patio chairs for about half an hour while we waited for someone to wake up. Oh well! All part of the adventure of backpacking!
