    Beautiful and romantic location”

Really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful and unspoilt beach bungalow. Bungalows were simple but pretty, cleaned everyday, as was the beach which was only a few steps from the front door of our bungalow. Sunbeds and hammocks are available for all as well as seating and tables in a well kept garden. Owners and Staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant had a great selection of food choices including the best vegetarian selection i have found over here..huge amount of meat choices too. The bungalows are in a quiet location so a taxi or bikes are needed to get to other places of interest or restaurants other than those at local resorts. A perfect place to visit for relaxation or romance 😊

    Above average”

Didn’t meet our expectations but the staff were very nice and the breakfast good, with fresh fruit and juice. It was a bit too remote for us, located at the end of a very bad road. There was a better road though we didn’t know about it. The rooms weren’t as clean as we would have liked and the beach was very narrow but there are nice hammocks to chill out. If you’re looking for something out of the way to relax and with friendly staff, this is the place!

3 words: amazing, totally relaxed, very friendly”

STOP HERE and read!!! :-) First of all i have to say that i really dont understand some strange, bad reviews about this location because: //everybody who deside to travel to vietnam, should know - its not the 1st world - thats not a party destination like we know it in europe - the culture is totally different // everybody who is still reading this :) i write some words about my charakter that you understand why i really loved this pace: // 30 years old // quiet relaxing guy // love to stay in places more outside of rough toursim // working very hard through the year and need to go minimum once a year to the sea and live directly there // im more backbacker in my mind, so this resort was more than luxury for me :) // About the resort: // very friendly people // directly on the beach // in between 15 minutes walk, beatiful looong, empty beaches around // tourists from young to old feld comfy here // room cleaned every day // sunset // sunrise // snorcheling //

    Perfect Location”

As a backpacker looking for authentic beach bungalow on a nice beach with good snorkeling Mai Phoung resort was perfect! Little beach with beautiful powdery sand. Snorkeling with corals ideal for beginner or other. Staff friendly, laid back service but there is no need to rush here! Other resorts in the area cost much more and they don't have the best sand like here. Nothing to do at night but you can stroll to eat elsewhere if you wish and there are lots of different little beaches to choose from. If you want an authentic experience then this is the place to come!

One of the oldies n goldie’s of accommodation. Perfect for those who appreciate a place with heart. ”

We loved staying in the little cottage right on the beach. Tho the garden rooms were lovely too. A gem from yester year. A perfect place to relax read snorkel swim canoe or just hang around in hammocks. You can take little trips to local fishing villages and surrounds. The staff were friendly Mr The / Tommy was terrific. From electrics to trip advice or pond or wi fiIt felt like a little family of other guests n staff. One day 4 of the guests wanted to go on a snorkeling trip. All staff and any other available guests helped push the dinky boat out .... It was hilarious and a trip worth taking. We highly recommend a stay here before such places are taken over upgraded and spoiled. Not 5 star but top marks!!! Loved it.

Is pretty far away from almost everything but that is really good if you are looking for a quite and relaxing place and anyway you can rent a motorbike and get anywhere on the island. The staff is really warm and welcoming plus the food is really good and bed very confortable. if you don't have much money to spend in accomodation I highly recommend this place.

Nice laid back resort with great garden”

Very nice garden and seaside location, only few tourists together with us in the resort, good value for the money paid

The cheapest way to access is by motorbike rented in Duong Dong, which is also necessary if you want to travel around the area. But be careful not to fall on sandy dirt roads, as we did. Food and drinks prices are similar to other resorts or seaside bars. Good wifi in resort - several routers spead around the resort area. Nice view of the bay. Very few tourists around. Very nice garden with hammocks, tables, benches etc.

    Price, space, food

This wasn't the cleanest or best serviced hotel I've ever seen, but for the price it was wonderful! The food was fantastic, though the service could be slow, and the whole place was very relaxing, with lots of space to wander around and read and lots to do when you got bored of that (kayaks, snorkeling, etc.)

Queit with beautiful beaches and fantastic sea food

Initially we were dismayed that our hotel was so far from the town but we shared a taxi from the Airport and then hired a motorbike for one day. Please beware though that we saw/heard of lots of accidents as the roads are gravel with heaps of occasional sand. The beach over the headland is wonderful with a nice beach bar and lovely clear sea Nd the sea food was wonderful.

    welcome to paradise”

    Quiet, Quite, Quite

It was not good. I booked 3 days but I moved away on the second day. The resort location is not good, the road to the resort is very, very bad. You cannot go any where if you are a high-skill motorcycle rider, the taxi driver is not willing to pick you from the resort because of the road :( I was very happy with the decision to move to Saigon PhuQuoc resort, I wish booked there for 3 days. Anyways, thanks for this form, I can express my opinion about the resort. Thanks

    1. On the beach

Average stay. Remote location had its advantages and disadvantages. Must rent a moto to be able to get around/explore the island. Food was subpar. Staff spoke very little English so couldn't provide info about he island. Bungalows were good. Beach was average. Far from Bai Sao (best beach in the island).

We stayed 3 night at a dirty constructionsite called Mai Phuong. Dirty rooms. The small shady beach was not suiteble for swimming. Rooms where dirty and unorganized. The staff where sleeping at the hammocks and sundbeds during the day. During our visit they built a new restaurant and everything where unorganized and litter all over the place. The resort is situated on a remote shady part of a fantastic beach.

Great value, food and friendly staff”

    Food, garden, value

We stayed 6 days at this resort with 2 young boys (2 and 4 years old). Although some reviews were mixed, we had a great time. It's a resort aimed at vietnamese tourists as well, but we greatly enjoyed it because of the large green garden (great for playing), the nice food, the friendly staff (although English was not well spoken). The Bamboo cottages next door are great and attractive, but signficantly more expensive. For our budget, Mai Phuong was a great experience. The beach is not terrific, but a 5 min walk will bring you to one, so you'll even have some exercise ;)

    Nice place Horrible staff”

Beach location, affordability and nature around.

Nice place and cheap to stay book beforehand on agoda for whole length of stay as the prices they change at about twice the price. It is a long way away from everything city wise. So if you have a motorbike or ore arranged transportation there it is a fantastic place. On the beach with lots to discover about. He only thing is the staff are a bunch of unprofessional teenagers who make mistakes often and get grumpy like a sixteen year old irl when you try and forest their mistakes. Not very relaxing when you have to go per the whole bill and right their mistakes while she throws a tantrum and shouts at you in Vietnamese. The older staff don't really care and are not their to help until she calls them to come and sort hints of becauseh doesn't want to all to you any more. To be confronted by the owner/boss by saying sorry her father died last week! (With a smile on bitty of their faces) pretty cool about the loss of her father it seems. Do not get washing done her very expensive and toke 2 days. Food is ok but again super expensive. Breakfast for 2 about 200Dong for juice coffee and pho. Dinner if you want to try fish or any seafood expect anywhere from 500 upwards. As it is so remote there is no where else I eat except the city what is an hours drive away. So this cancels out the cheapness of the hotel! In shirt beauiful remote location not bad price except food and drink! Awful staff who do not wish to help one little bit makes you feel like a teacher having to look after all the immature and poorly grand people supposedly there to make your stay a nice and comfortable stay. I suggest pay a little more and stay some where nice with staff that are actually happy for you to be there.

Hotel staff not helpful. Hotel is too far away.”

I had no good things to stay about Mai Phuong hotel.

Hotel staff not helpful. Family all sit around restaurant while 1 member works. We were overcharged for items not used. We asked for a taxi to be booked for the next day. Despite confirming this booking twice the night before with staff the taxi did not arrive the next morning. We then had to wake the staff who admitted they had not booked a taxi. They then drove us in their hotel vehicle and charged us excessively for the trip. As we had flights booked we had no option due to the remoteness of the resort. Unfortunately I have nothing good to comment about our stay at Mai Phuong hotel and will not revisit.
