We had a wonderful and relaxing one-week vacation.”
We would highly recommend this resort, especially for couples who are looking for a relaxing and comfortable stay in Koh Samui. Although the beach is not suited for swimming, the pools at the Mai Samui are fantastic for swimming and sunbathing. There are sun beds and umbrellas by the beach with beautiful views of the water and mountains in the distance. The staff have an extremely positive attitude, are approachable and friendly. They greeted us with big smiles and were more than happy to help. For visitors who want to shop or go to the beach in Chaweng, there is a hotel shuttle bus that leaves three times a day. The food at the resort was very good and the Thai cuisine was simply exceptional. They have special evenings by the beach for seafood, Thai etc. They also offer cooking classes! There is a well-equipped business centre and the spa is worth trying :) We were very satisfied with our choice.

Holidays just like you want them at MAI Samui!”
I have been living and traveling in Asia since 10 years and MAI Samui is probably one of the best resort we have stayed at. It is newly build so all facilities are new and very clean. I have brought my girlfriend there for my proposal. It is perfect for a romantic couples trip or family holidays. The rooms are very well decorated. We have got a room with both sea view and pool view. The Resort is divided in 2 parts divided by a small road. One is located around the pool and near the private beach. The other part is on the other side of the small road. I preferred to stay around the pool where the restaurants are also located. There are 2 restaurants (thai food and Western food). You can easily book a motorbike at the reception. It s the most convenient way to visit Koh Samui. The location is really good, it is far from the crowd of Chaweng beach and it is near Bophut Beach where you can have excellent seafood in the fishermen's village. MAI Samui is a a very good choice for perfect holidays!

Perfect”
I can't fault Mai Samui and would go back in a heart beat. I guess the only negative would be the fact it isn't amongst the more populated areas in Koh Samui (some would see this as a positive if wanted to just go and relax). With that said the hotel provides complimentary transfers to Chaweng (the most popular beach in Samui). We went on a few tours and it turned out this hotel was close to the port where we got our boat from so we we're pleased with that. The resort itself was simply stunning. The grounds were gorgeous and well maintained (we saw staff checking ph levels in pools, sweeping the sand and doing other general upkeep tasks on a regular basis). Staff we're amazing, they were so helpful and attentive and made our stay one I will never forget. The three restaurants were great, the buffet breakfast was the best I have ever had and the Thai coffee is a must try!!

Amazing Experience in our little paradise”
This is our first trip to ko samui and in fact its our first trip together as a couple.we are looking for the perfet hideway so we can spend some quite time enjoying each other company. And we had make the prefect choice by chosing this hotel!it was gorgeus! way better than we had expected.we had selected 2 5 star hotels in samui for this trip and the other is located in Bophut.but Mai samui had reach the standard and way better than our other hotel.we are a bit devastated with the other hotel, but remembering our experiences in Mai samui,we cant stop smiling and made up our mind that our next trip, this is the hotel that we gonna be!no doubt about that..It could not get better than this, the warm services, helpful staff, gorgeous chic room, beautiful scenery from the infinity pool..the facilities is just mindblowing.do check out the library and the entertainment room. Its awesome and cosy. The fine dining and the breakfast buffet is scrumptious.they even took note and prepare us the muslim menu for our breakfast menu. That is just something else. The most wonderful service that we ever had.We will definitely come back anytime soon.cos experience like this, you will rarely get anywhere else.keep it up the goodd work guys!

Beautiful 5 star hotel...so relaxing!”
Mai Samui is a beautiful hotel where you are forced to sit back and relax because of its private location. The staff helped us arrange day trips out as its a bit far to catch a taxi and explore yourself. I have stayed at 5 star properties all over the world and Mai Samui has earned every one of its stars unlike many others around Koh Samui! Do be aware that it is a good 30min drive to any other bars, restaurants on the island but the hotel has a taxi and shuttle service. We moved to Chewang Beach for the end of our stay for a bit more atmosphere but compared to Mai Samui it was more expensive, a dump, dirty and the service left more than to be desired. A great relaxing stay!!

Fantastic but a little out the way........”
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mai Samui. It is a very peaceful hotel and spa in beautiful surroundings. The rooms were luxurious and had everything down to flip flops for us to wear to the beach. Staff were exceptional, very friendly and efficient. Always smiling :) the food was delicious, buffet breakfast always had a great variety of both western and eastern options and the food in the restaurants was outstanding although it is expensive compared to the rest of the island. The views from our room were stunning. The only down side I would say is that the complimentary shuttle only runs until 13:00 outbound and 16:00 inbound and taxis are very expensive on the Island. We did hire a scooter and you can get round the island in an hour and a half but I think that it would benefit guests to have the option of the shuttle of an evening and also maybe additional stops rather than just Chaweng as The Fishermans Village in Bophut is nice to go to both during the day and night. I would give this hotel a 8.5 out of 10 as it is but a definite 10 is the shuttle service was extended

Wow! What an amazing stay. When can we go back?”
This is hands down, without question, the best 5 star resort we've had the pleasure to stay in. We spent 5 nights at Mai Samui over the 2014 New Year period and although the resort was fully booked it never felt busy, the staff handled everything with a smile and a calm attitude, the rooms and grounds were generous and cleaned meticulously each day, the food and beverages were far above average for Thailand (especially the breakfasts), the spa treatment we received was sublime, the surroundings and the decor was stunning. Would visit again without hesitation. Our only complaint was a faucet that fell off and that was fixed within a few hours of us notifying staff.

Beautiful Hotel w/ Friendly Staff”
We enjoyed our stay at Mai Samui immensely. The pool is massive and excellent, the Thai food was very good, and the location is very quiet and removed. The have a beach side bar which is a great place to lay/hang out. Staff is really friendly and mostly can speak English. Rooms are top notch. A few cons: some oddities at the hotel (charged us to use the shuttle, didn't have enough towels by the pool, refused to help us get a taxi and insisted we use their shuttle to the airport), the beach is not great on this side of the island, and the location makes going out to eat difficult. Also I do not go to an island resort for the WiFi, but it was particularly terrible. All-in-all we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this is a great secluded resort for relaxing in the sun and by the pool.

Just wonderful, in every way”
If you want to stay somewhere comfortable, quiet, and relaxing, this is the place. If you need access to the busy outside world, stick to Chaweng, on the other side of the island. This was the best stay we had in Thailand (out of 5 hotels) – we found ourselves comparing every other hotel to this one. And with the deal we got on Agoda, an amazing value. The location is excellent - right on a quiet, private beach with gorgeous sunset views and no obnoxious vendors. The service is impeccable. Rooms are large, beautiful, clean, with fast-working AC and huge comfy beds, and I never heard any noise from neighboring rooms or outside. They each have minibars with free bottled water and in-room safe. The décor is modern and colors pleasant – wood floors, woven rugs, rain shower, deep bathtub that could fit 4 people, soft chaise lounges in the room and on the balcony. The pool is gigantic and never crowded, and pool bar happy hour prices aren’t bad, though food is a bit overpriced and the secluded location means you’re forced to eat at the resort pretty much 24/7. Breakfast buffet was excellent – delicious French press coffee, made-to-order waffles, omelettes, smoothies. I often ate so much I didn’t even need lunch. They provide standard size beach towels in your room as well as large towels on the beach for the lounge chairs. The hotel offers a free shuttle to/from Chaweng 3x/day if you want to shop (the beach is super crowded and the water is rough – nothing special). Wifi at the resort is free, but very spotty – wish they’d had some computers for guest use. It would also be helpful to have some convenience items available like sunscreen, OTC medications, etc., because you have to cab to the nearest 7-11. My only big complaint is that they wouldn’t allow me to call my travel insurance company (a free collect number) without charge after I got a bug bite on my eye causing it to swell shut, and there are no nearby payphones. Fortunately Benadryl worked within 24hrs.

Great resort in quiet location”
Positives: -Great room. Plenty of space, nice amenities, huge bathroom with a gigantic bathtub. We were in the E block on the ground floor which allowed for super easy access right into the secondary pool. -The pools at Mai Samui are the property's centerpiece. Beautiful, well kept, and easy access from all rooms. -Mai employees were all very sweet and nice -Quiet location away from the craziness of Chaewang...very nice if that's what you're looking for. Negatives: -The food is not very good. The western food is pretty bad with the exception of the grill items. That didn't surprise me but I was disappointed to find that the Thai food was also subpar. -The room service menu is limited. You will get bored quickly if you have young children and need to order dinner in every night while they're sleeping. Overall Mai Samui is a beautiful property with good service. It provides great value for money. The food is the only area keeping this resort from being truly great.

An experience to remember”
The staff consistently provided impressive service. It is hard to find a hotel where staff are all uniformly well-trained and provided great service. Attention to detail was probably one of the best I've ever came across. Hotel facilities and rooms are well designed with high-quality furnishings. This place is 5-star and more! I used to run a boutique hotel myself for a short while, and that experience made me instinctively scrutinise all aspects of a hotel wherever I stayed. I have to say Mai Samui was really impressive. I will recommend this place to all my friends, and be back here again if I can, so I hope Mai Samui keep up the good work!

Nice and comfortable resort with a dirty beach ”
We stayed at Mai Samui for 4 nights having a 2 year old daughter. The Resort it self is very nice and clean, the rooms (we had deluxe) was great and with nice view over the pool and the ocean. They had a Kids Zone to play (you have to supervise) and a nice gym enough to do the most important exercises. The staff was very helpful and kind, they did everything for you. The negative side is that it is a bit off, Shuttle bus to Chaweng 3 times a day, until lunch the latest and back at 1630, so you couldn't spend an afternoon in Chaweng. Private taxi was 1000 THB. The food was not as good as it should be in a 5 star resort, the menu was really small and on the beach side they only served "International Buffe" or somedays "Steaks", they had a Thai restaurant but as told, small menu to choose from, but it tasted good. The Beach was very dirty and it was low tide from early morning to late evening so you could actually not swin in the ocean. That was very negative. Overall it is a good resort...

Paradise”
Our stay was so very relaxing and the staff at the resort make you feel so welcome like family. It was my Mother's birthday the day we arrived and I asked if a small cake could be made and brought out at dinner, but 3 staff arrived at our room singing happy birthday to my Mum together with cake and candle and a huge bouquet of flowers. They went above and beyond what I asked for and it made my Mother's day. This was my second stay at Mai Samui and I long to return.

Luxury, Luxury Luxury!”
Newly built(3 months ago) with a magnificent pool, the hotel itself is comfortable and pleasant. Rooms are large with spacious bathrooms. It is situated on the Northwest coast, away from all the touristy madness of Chaweng, 10 minutes down the road from the infinitely preferable Nathong. The staff are the real feature of this hotel; friendly and helpful, always attentive. The restaurant food was tasty. The menu carries a Thai and western mix. Buffet breakfast each morning was a real treat. My Mum, my sister and I relaxed and enjoyed the week we stayed at Mai Samui

Home away from home, but in paradise!”
From the moment we arrived we were made to feel like the staff were at our beck and call. Everything from a 2am milk request to the homemade biscuits delivered daily, and even all our trips and expeditions were seen to and taken care of more than we hoped for. The surroundings are an exquisite tropical paradise with beautifully well maintained facilities. We made a point of trying all the restaurants of which none were a disappointment. Our room was clean and spacious. We always looked forward to coming back to Mai Samui after a days adventures. All in all a beautiful and comfortable stay!

Beautiful property, fantastic service”
we deliberately selected a hotel on a quiet part of the island, and we're glad we did. it means you have to have transportation (taxi, rental car, rental motorbike) if you want to explore the more touristy parts of the island, but then you can get away from the crowds and enjoy the peace and serenity on this secluded beach. the on-site restaurants are excellent, and there are two other restaurants within an easy walk along the beach, if you crave a little variety without having to get in your car. the hotel also organizes beach-side cookouts several nights of the week, sometimes with entertainment such as thai dancing or kick-boxing. breakfasts are extravagant buffets featuring both asian and western delights. the two best things about the resort are the beauty of the structure, grounds, and pools, and the solicitous, ever-pleasant service. the staff will help you line up rental cars, tours, whatever you need. the spa is lovely, too. i indulged in a wonderful after-sun all-over body masque there.

Beautiful hotel with great staff”
We stayed at the Mai Samui from the 6th - 13th of December and had an amazing time. The hotel itself is a bit out of the way so it is great for relaxing. The hotel staff were extremely helpful, not forget to mention the tall bell boy who stood at the main door. He was very sweet and always had a big smile on his face. He ensured that the gym door opened for me in the morning, Overall our stay was fantastic and we would highly recommend this resort to anyone travelling to Koh Samui.

Gorgeous hotel”
We had a great stay at Mai samui, amazing rooms & pool. The only let down was the very dirty beach. I hope they bother to tidy that up before our next visit. Would definitely stay there again though. Our kids LOVED the massive walk in bath.

Five star hotel/ experience, UNUSABLE beach”
The resort grounds were immaculate and service top notch. We stayed in May - I'm not sure how much of the year this is an issue, but for us, the resort experience was greatly diminished due to the complete lack of beach. We had to walk out to the end of a very long dock to even get feet wet and couldn't walk out far enough to swim. Pools are amazing, but if you want ocean swimming, you have to go elsewhere for a real beach. This also meant there was no possibility for snorkeling, kayak other beach activities advertised. As resort is secluded, this means driving. We rented scooter from resort for 250 THB a day which made it work. Would be perfect if there actually was a beach you could swim in.

fantastic!”
Mai Samui is without a doubt the nicest hotel we have ever stayed in - in Thailand. The service is great, the rooms are spacious and really exclusive - if possible get a room with pool access. Loved everything about this hotel...
