This resort is the ultimate in beachside fun and relaxation. Just 40 minutes from the airport, the resort is at the northwestern tip of the gorgeous Samui Island. The tourist-friendly beaches of Lamai and Chaweng can be easily reached, and for a quieter day, the property offers all the activities minus the crowd. This luxurious resort includes three restaurants, a beach club, two pools, tennis courts, and a spa. If this isn't enough, there is also a fitness center, squash courts, a steam room, and tours can be arranged to visit some of the best sites in the area. A business center and meeting facilities provide options for the traveling executive in need of a quiet place to get some proper work done. For the ultimate in beach luxury and a truly enjoyable holiday, MAI Samui Beach Resort & Spa is definitely a great choice.

worst service staff”
Terrible from the moment I arrived. No aircon in foyer, No nice welcome, just sorry room not ready it will be an hour, what this is at 4pm, unbelievable. Waited in aircon thai restaurant, free cocktail but no alcohol in it! Room very nice. Cannot swim in ocean, too shallow and too much rock and corral. The pool looked good but water was so hot, like soup! Bar staff at pool bar were very bad, so rude, except for the young guy. The cocktail was v.poor and French fries plonked down with a bottle of tomato sauce, no presentation.Main restaurant had no aircon, the Thai restaurant service and food v. poor. Not one smile from any staff at all. Checking out met a woman whom said she thought it was the worst place ever, she was almost in tears, she had to stay 6 more nights. The manager of the hotel needs to be replaced and most of the staff, planks,no one speaks English. The owner of the hotel clearly has no idea! If the room was 500 baht a night I wouldn't go back!! Believe me, don't go.!!
Dear Jamie, We are very sorry your experience failed to meet your expectations and that we were unable to make you feel it represented value during your stay. We would like to explain that in many Southeast Asian countries, it is quite common to have an open-air design to let the sea breeze in and have a more tropical feeling than a closed-off restaurant. Our pool is currently warm due to the extreme Thai summer conditions as you have noticed the weather has been above 35 degrees every day since before the Songkran festival, we apologize we cannot control the pool temperature but there are nice refreshing places to swim in the sea in front of our resort and we also provide our guests with free shuttle service to Chaweng beach. We would like to apologize that we could not provide you with our usual high-standard hospitality on your holiday. Please contact us as we would like to make amends for this disappointment and hope that to welcome you again in the future. The Management Team
Pool is too much dirty”
This hotel is rated 5 star, but this is nothing to say nice.. Pool is too dirty so nobody can enjoy swim..near by hotel is nothing..we cant swin on the beach because it is too ditry..i cant say it is beach..just muddy sand During diner time..on the beach i order some shirimp for my family ...the clerk said here ..mad guy..because he thought i am Chinese and cant understand English.. But clearly heard mad guy. I angry to him "what? Mad man"? Anyway...dont choose this hotel It will be worst vacation
Dear Kihyeung, Thank you for taking the time to share about your experience with us. We sincerely apologize for failing to meet your expectations. Regarding our location we advertise ourselves to be an ideal location for family and romantic holidays away from the hustle and bustle of tourist crowds. Because of our quiet location, we provide lots of daytime activities for guests to do within our property such as cooking classes, vegetable carving classes, sports activities, theme nights and take our guests out for waterfall and temple day trips. Our pool water is cleaned and checked up every day according to the PH levels standard. However we did have an emergency situation from Jan 30th-Feb 3rd due to extremely hot weather affecting chlorine levels and causing the water to appear green. It took a bit of time for the color to re-regulate after treatment so we can assure everyone that it is clean and safe to swim in and it is very hygienic and pure. Best regard, Management Team

Will surely share your kind words to our staff members. We look forward to hosting you again at the resort real soon. Best regards, The Management Team Mai Samui Resort & Spa
Great activities available”
My fiancé is instantly in love with the snorkelling, fishing and Kayaking activities here. One thing that could have been improved on was the Housekeeping. We had a welcome cake plated on a rectangular cake when we first arrived and we called the front desk to clear the plate on the 1st day after we finished it. It was only cleared on the 3rd day afternoon. Thought this could be improved on. Breakfast spread could be more. There were q a lot of houseflies as well during breakfast. The rest of the stay was however fantastic. Bed was huge and comfortable. We loved the rest of it.
Holidays just like you want them at MAI Samui!”
I have been living and traveling in Asia since 10 years and MAI Samui is probably one of the best resort we have stayed at. It is newly build so all facilities are new and very clean. I have brought my girlfriend there for my proposal. It is perfect for a romantic couples trip or family holidays. The rooms are very well decorated. We have got a room with both sea view and pool view. The Resort is divided in 2 parts divided by a small road. One is located around the pool and near the private beach. The other part is on the other side of the small road. I preferred to stay around the pool where the restaurants are also located. There are 2 restaurants (thai food and Western food). You can easily book a motorbike at the reception. It s the most convenient way to visit Koh Samui. The location is really good, it is far from the crowd of Chaweng beach and it is near Bophut Beach where you can have excellent seafood in the fishermen's village. MAI Samui is a a very good choice for perfect holidays!
One of the best I ever stayed at”
We met a friend and her 87 year old mother at this hotel and all four of us agreed that this is a superb hotel. The staff are wonderful and a real asset. They go out of their way to assist you and are extremely friendly. We all loved the gorgeous pools and the design of the hotel. There was real attention to detail in the design, it just all worked and came together well. The spa (although we didn't have a treatment there, but we went to look at it) also looked amazing. We all enjoyed the quiet location but we were flexible with a rental car. The hotel is isolated. People who want shopping or nightlife could use the free hotel shuttles to Chaweng beach, I suppose. Since we had a car, we never did use the shuttle. I would go back there in a heartbeat and also recommend it to my friends. It definitely was one of the nicest places I ever stayed at (and I have been in Thailand for the past eight years and to many many places around Thailand!).
Fantastic if you like a seclusion and quiet”
Fantastic swimming pools which the kids loved and right next to the beach but many dead corals washing up on the sand which made walking barefooted precarious. This is by no means the hotel's fault though. Definitely a 5 star hotel and the property is kept in tip-top condition from the continuous maintenance work we saw. This hotel is not in the main town area but secluded and perfect if you like serenity. A big thank you to Ms. Unza for the warmth and hospitality
Nice, relaxing place”
nice hotel though quite secluded peaceful but very very far from the main beach and action area of chaweng, 45 min 1000 thb each way by taxi. staff is very friendly and accomodating though service at times seems disorganized and under staffed especially at breakfast, bar, and cleaning staff. drinks sometime arrived 15 min after food and room didnt get cleaned until 5-6pm. free internet sounds good but in reality it is disasterously slow and in all areas of hotel quite unstable, a 56k connection would be faster than this, so very difficult for people who may need to do work online during holidays. staff generally has good english which was quite an issue in most other places we stayed at or dined on the island. free shuttle service ok but not very useful as last return only at 4pm. overall good but not quite fantastic.
An experience to remember”
The staff consistently provided impressive service. It is hard to find a hotel where staff are all uniformly well-trained and provided great service. Attention to detail was probably one of the best I've ever came across. Hotel facilities and rooms are well designed with high-quality furnishings. This place is 5-star and more! I used to run a boutique hotel myself for a short while, and that experience made me instinctively scrutinise all aspects of a hotel wherever I stayed. I have to say Mai Samui was really impressive. I will recommend this place to all my friends, and be back here again if I can, so I hope Mai Samui keep up the good work!
Five star hotel 3 star service”
Building is old and needs updating Staff can’t understand or speak English No electric one night so no AC Staff couldn’t under stand there was no power Nothing was done Even when I told reception manger all I got was Sorry That’s wasn’t good enough
Beautiful, secluded and relaxing Thai resort but disappointing food ”
Firstly we had a relaxing stay, the resort is beautiful, in a secluded part of the island, quiet and peaceful. Decor and upkeep of the resort is great. Pools are clean, private beach area is nice, good deck chairs, and pool bar. Natural beach and sea not great - pretty dirty, water isn’t clear. But not a buggy e
nice hotel, friendly staff - horrible food and beach unusable”
it is a nice place and the rooms are good. the breakfast is a disaster, no variety and 10 slices of cheese for 100 guests, which then takes an hour to refill. restaurant is good, never use the beach buffet. same story here: no selection and dishes/salads/fruits are always gone and not refilled. beach is unfortunately not usable due to garbage and rocks
Incredibly accommodating staff. Great with children! Pool is amazing, views are nice, food is good, nice spa. Room for improvement: Front desk staff should have Internet. Add a late evening shuttle back and forth from Chaweng.
Fantastic but a little out the way........”
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mai Samui. It is a very peaceful hotel and spa in beautiful surroundings. The rooms were luxurious and had everything down to flip flops for us to wear to the beach. Staff were exceptional, very friendly and efficient. Always smiling :) the food was delicious, buffet breakfast always had a great variety of both western and eastern options and the food in the restaurants was outstanding although it is expensive compared to the rest of the island. The views from our room were stunning. The only down side I would say is that the complimentary shuttle only runs until 13:00 outbound and 16:00 inbound and taxis are very expensive on the Island. We did hire a scooter and you can get round the island in an hour and a half but I think that it would benefit guests to have the option of the shuttle of an evening and also maybe additional stops rather than just Chaweng as The Fishermans Village in Bophut is nice to go to both during the day and night. I would give this hotel a 8.5 out of 10 as it is but a definite 10 is the shuttle service was extended
Wonderful quiet place”
We went the last 2 days of a 30 days trip to SouthEast Asia in order to relax. It was fabulous. Exactly that. The place is wonderful, the rooms are great and the bathroom is unique. I hope I will get back sometime.
Beautiful 5* hotel”
We were delighted to be upgraded to the pool villa on the beach as our deluxe room was unavailable when we arrived, we ended up paying for the upgrade the second night too as it was so beautiful! the hotel is stunning, lovely space, the pool is great, the sunbathing area is lovely, the only downside was the beach. you couldn't swim, it was too shallow and then went into coral. Perfect is you dont mind swimming in the pool only, but i missed the sea. Very quiet on the beach not much atmosphere in the evenings too, after one night you would probably go out in taxi for food to Bophut fisherman's village, but 30 min drive.
Home away from home, but in paradise!”
From the moment we arrived we were made to feel like the staff were at our beck and call. Everything from a 2am milk request to the homemade biscuits delivered daily, and even all our trips and expeditions were seen to and taken care of more than we hoped for. The surroundings are an exquisite tropical paradise with beautifully well maintained facilities. We made a point of trying all the restaurants of which none were a disappointment. Our room was clean and spacious. We always looked forward to coming back to Mai Samui after a days adventures. All in all a beautiful and comfortable stay!
Nice hotel with reasonable price”
I was coming to samui for vacation with my girlfriend. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Room and bed were very comfy. There was a little beach and pool right outside the room which was good enough to play around if you feel lazy to go elsewhere:p
The hotel is pretty nice, room is big suit for money paid. Good location and nice view. Even the hotel is a bit far from city but it worth of staying. Hotel is a bit private, quite environment and nice breakfast
We had a great stay at Mai samui, amazing rooms & pool. The only let down was the very dirty beach. I hope they bother to tidy that up before our next visit. Would definitely stay there again though. Our kids LOVED the massive walk in bath.
