Perfect resort on beautiful spot.”
Stayed in en deluxe room. Spacious, everything you need is there. The whole complex is clean. I arrived very early but that wasn't a problem. Good restaurant. Two swimmingpools, very nice setting. And, very important, attentive staff
Right next to floating market”
Highly recommend, beautifully located. I've stayed here twice. Once for a conference once with family. Both times it was really nice. Has free bikes you can use. Two pools and beautiful grounds for walking. Also located right next to floating market.
Wonderful place near the floating markets”
We enjoyed our stay very much. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We booked a boat trip to the floating markets ( even though we could actually have walked there) and went to an elephant camps. It was a great experience.
Safer option to visit Damnoen Floating Market”
I would recommend travellers to spend the night at Damnoen , then head to the market as early at 7:00 am, and leave by 9:30am. 2 hours is more than enough to take pictures, have coffee, do the 30-min boat ride and buy a bit of stuff. Tourists will flock the market by the bus load at 8:30 am. By 10:00 am the place will be too crowded for anything.
Nice Place for Relaxation and Sightseeing”
Room was great but too dark. I could not open windows to get natural light because of a number of mosquitoes. Swimming pool looked dirty; water was not crystal clear. I didn't dare to get into the pool. Food was delicious. However, quality of ingredients could be improved. I ordered fried mackerels and they were very very small. There were a thousand of flies in the coffee shop; they were very annoying. The hotel had many outside activities. Most of them were very interesting. However, it seemed a receptionist doesn't know all of activities. I asked something and she could not answer my questions. This part was disappointing.
A nice hotel with rooms good for big family like ours usually required 4 to a room. The staff are well trained. The rooms are clean. Small spread of buffet breakfast was quite good. It is very near to the floating market (5 mins by bus). It will be better if they change their bicycle (free rental)as many are not in good condition.
Locely hotel in a tropical setting”
We stayed here only one night because we wanted to see the floating market early morning. We stayed in a nice villa in a tropical garden. Very relaxed atmosphere. I think the best place you can stay in that area.
Great hotel , lovely food and fantastic service”
We enjoyed our staying in this hotel very much. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. The staff gives a great service and the swimming pool is very nice. The best of all was the restaurant, on the terrace near a small river : very romantic ! And the food was very, very good at fair prices.
we stayed here to be near the floating market and to see it before the tours from bangkok arrive. they start arriving around 9am--get there before and it's nice. took a boat right from the hotel to the market. this hotel spent a lot of money on the lavish grounds and exterior. the room are not as lavish but clean and comfortable. good bathroom. breakfast was pretty good.
Beautiful grounds & gardens. Two beautiful pools. Massage available. Playground for children. Wonderful buffet breakfast. Cheap boat tours right from dock on resort grounds that offer a variety of tour options (we did the one hour tour of floating market). Many reviews said not to buy souvenirs here but we found the prices negotiable to a reasonable price, and since we didn't have time to visit other markets in Bangkok later, regretted not buying more while here! The hotel also offered a mini-bus shuttle back to Bangkok which we declined, but would advise others that this was actually a good deal (in hind-sight). The resort has free bicycle rentals which we rode to a wonderful restaurant about half a mile down the road. The gardeners offered us fresh coconuts as they were trimming them from the trees (kids were fascinated by the process) - we loved how friendly and kind everyone was. Can't really say enough good things about our experience here! It was worth double the price we got on Agoda. Would definitely stay here again!
Amazing beautiful surrounded by nature, the big pool so calmly and relaxing with a view of coconut trees and Thai houses, staff were polite and nice, food was delicious. When we were there it was raining so much but that's also adding romantic feeling, mosquito that's a problem because it's rainy season but other than that this place is amazing tranquillity highly recommended.
Good place to stay if visiting floating market etc. Staff friendly, facilities good. Breakfast (American & Buffet) served cold on all occasions we ate there which we ate disappointing... cold sausages & bacon isn't good! Water from shower had chlorine in it & burns your eyes!
Perfect location when visiting Damnoen Saduak”
A spacious resort with large room and classic decoration. Located just a couple of minutes of walking from Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. All staff are very professional, hospitable, and helpful. They handled our requests very generously. The TukTuk driver that they hired for us was also very helpful and knowledgeable of good things around the area. The trip was entirely without a single fuss because we chose this place
very impressed with facilities and land scaping. There're many activities to do inside the resort after visiting floating market in morning, such as swimming, biking, massage, dvd, boat trip, etc. Friendly and helpful staffs. Only issue we had was hotel restaurant. Foods are pricey, sub-par quality, not worth money. Since this resort is situated in the middle of nowhere, there's really no place nearby that we can have food after floating market closed (around 3pm). Don't order thai omlet w/shrimp, 3eggs, 3shrimps 160baht. We understand it's opportunity to make money but this is a little too much and too far. Room is good enough for the price paid. Spacious bathroom, comfy bed, a little problem with noisy air-con. We stayed at Damnoen village, good location and private.
Intimate resort and attentive staff!”
We stayed in the Coxonut Village part of the resort, which has Lana Houses. We ate in the restaurant twice, due to the lack of places outside the resort. We ate out on the veranda, as the restaurant itself is brightly lit and looks like a school canteen, with large tables, which seat at least six people. However, the food was superb and the chicken & cashew dish was especially good. The resort is only a 5 minute walk to the floating market. The staff were very attentive, even though their English was poor. Although we were supposed to have Wi-Fi in the room, we could only get it in the restaurant. Overall, we enjoyed the intimacy of the resort.
It is located 2 minutes on foot to floating market”
This hotel turns out to be one of our satisfying stay except foods they are providing. It is located within 2 minutes from floating marketing on foot and staff are very friendly and helpful. A large bed room was another surprise we had. Recommended for those people who wants to stay near the floating market.
great pool and staff”
fun little restaurant on the river, little playground, fun villas around some water, very nice and helpful staff with a smile short walk to floating market, you can hire someone from hotel to paddle you to the market too! get out and walk around the market too so you can see both perspectives and views! loved our stay here, minivans easy to catch from victory monument in bangkok! that is the way to go! they had bikes you can use to explore the area as well! yummy breakfast too!
What a cozy and excellent hospitality resort.”
I went there with my couple to seek a peaceful place to relax after had been through hard working for a year. I was a precious time when we were there. The resort is located near so many attraction places. We enjoyed boating and sightseeing alone the floating market. By the sun set, we went to Samutsongkrum which has another evening floating market for dinner. I took just 20 minutes by car. To sum up, if you are looking for a place where you want to meet peace. Maikaew Damnoen Resort will fail you.
Perfect and fantastic!”
If you want to visit Damnoen Saduak's Floating Market, this hotel is probably one of the best options, as the floating market is just a 7 minutes walk from the hotel's door. We stayed here in order to be able to be at the market by 7:00 AM before tourist hordes arrive from Bangkok by 09:00 AM. Another good thing was that the hotel booked for us a boat that picked us up at the hotel, as it has a pier in a canal that is connected to the canals where the floating market takes place. So you can either walk to the floating market or hire a boat (I definitively recommend the boat ride, as you can see much more than on foot). With reference to the hotel, the staff is very nice and very helpful (they also booked for us a van to return to Bangkok). Rooms are distributed along a 2 levels modern and new building with covered hallways that are also open to the outside. So the whole atmosphere is very "tropical" and exotic. The room we had was very large, very clean and comfortable. It had air-conditioning, a small refrigerator, a normal tv, a desk and a chair, a space between the room and the bathroom where there was a wardrobe and an ensuite bathroom (see attached pictures). The hotel has also a great restaurant where they serve a very complete buffet breakfast (we also had dinner and the food and the price was very good). Additionally the hotel has a very nice swimming pool, which is perfect to fight the heat. It is then obvious that I will stay here again if I have the opportunity to come back to Damnoen Saduak.
great for floating market”
Nice room, great bed. Staff was great. AC was tired, but still worked. If you want something other than the floating market, you need to be prepared to travel. Location is remote from anything else.
