Wonderful House near the River”
Very beautiful house just next to the river. From the balcony you can watch directly on the river. Due to the big glas window you can see the river from the bed as well. The bathroom is half outdoor and suits perfectly in the whole atmosphere. The bed is quite hard, as mostly in asia. Everything was very clean. The area is very silent but there are good restaurants in footwalk distance (CG restaurant just 300 meters to the left!) The hotel manager and stuff were very friendly, helpful and they spoke a good English. So we rented two motorbikes for one day from the hotel and got lots of advices for our trip. In the evening the hotel manager even drove us to the train station. We definitely recommend the Riverside Hotel!

Let down by the extremely uncomfortable hard beds”
This resort has recently been refurbished and is generally very well appointed. We stayed in one of the riverside units and then, on our return journey, in the hotel proper. Unfortunately, the mattresses in both were extremely hard. Around 2am I took pain medication to deal with the resulting hip pain. WiFi was very good in the (cute) riverside unit/s. In the main hotel however, it was essentially non-existent/unusable. In today's environment, this is unacceptable. If you have no problem with plank-like mattresses, and have no need for internet connectivity, the main hotel units are otherwise quite good. Note that on Agoda, at the time of our last booking, the riverside units were showing as unavailable. However - when we turned up we were told that that was incorrect and that a riverside unit was available. In retrospect, we should have opted to change our room, but we stuck with the main hotel booking. At the time we were staying, no breakfast was available. We gave this resort a mid-way score because, other than the mattresses and WiFi, it was largely fine. On balance however, we won't be staying again.

I didn't mind so much that Maithong Riverside was out of town, but beds were exceptionally hard and the bathroom had mold, but the swimming pool was exceptionally nice (cool and refreshing).

OK room with odd prison style layout, breakfast was toast and instant coffee. No restaurants etc, so need a car.

Pool view from the corridor, not from the room. ”
The actual view from the room on ground floor is service water tank. Pool view is on the outside corridor, not from the room. So, we asked to upgrade the room to riverside which is more expensive. The new room is a bit old..broken accessories in the bathroom. Bed is too flat and hard. At least, the AC is cool and river view is pretty nice.

Beautiful location, great value, kind staff”
We were a group of three staying in two rooms, and really enjoyed our one-night stay here during a long weekend roadtrip around Phetchaburi. The view was excellent, it was quiet and peaceful (surprising lack of bugs for being by water, although maybe we were lucky). They put our three bikes for us, which we didn't have time to use, unfortunately. 'Outdoor' bathroom was fun, room was simple, tasteful, clean. Great wifi. Breakfast included fresh-ground coffee and toast, and the staff were very kind and lovely. Would definitely go again!

Nice pool ”
The pool was the main reason that drew me to book with this hotel. The room was clean and large, with a balcony to hang your clothes, but housekeeping is not done everyday. There is a huge parking area and most guests were domestic tourists. Nice place if you have a car to get around Phetchaburi as most of the attractions are far out.

The location is not too far from the city but it will be better if you have your own transportation. The scenario is fantastic. The room is also pleasant to stay. Conveniently Near Town”
You can plant a tree in their driveway even without them knowing it. My morning checking out, I was left all alone at their reception area fronting the river - privacy. At first, I thought I did be served breakfast as the lone staff was cooking up fried eggs in the kitchen stirring up an aromatic storm which fueled my morning hunger. Then I saw her consuming the egg by herself and left. That was when I realized no breakfast was served in this resort, except for the table with coffee, bread and butter for me to help myself. The previous night’s sleep in what I would perceive as a very boutique styled rooms was extremely agreeable with the price. It had a generous view of the river up front for the room was glass facet on its entire front. The bed sheets were rather starchy, but I was too tired to bother. The open air toilet was interesting and every corner of the unit was tinted with modernity and a designer’s touch. I could tell this was not one of those “let’s set up some sheds and call it a resort” establishment. The little disappointment I had was that it was no businessman hotel. There was no working table in the room. The toilet did offer some possibilities of spreading out my notebooks on a raised platform with the toilet seat as my chair but I could live a night without catching up emails and such. Not too bad at all, and worth it.

Amazing Rustic Studio”
This was in our top 3 favorite accommodations during mine and my boyfriends 1 month stay all over Thailand. We stayed in about 10+ different hotels and/AirBnB and this one had the best ambience. Our room was clean, had a glass wall overlooking the river and our bathroom was outside surrounded by a bamboo and dark oak wood walls. The room had a charming rustic vibe, we highly recommend it.

Atmospheric, small resort.”
The resort is on the bank of the Petchaburi river a few kms west of the city centre. The rooms are spacious and each has a private balcony. Very peaceful at night. Clean, comfortable beds and a bathroom partly open to the sky. A fine experience.
