Better than I expected. ”
This was my first time in London and it took me a long time to finally decide on a location to stay. After a lot of research I chose the best western Maida Vale due to its ideal location to the trains and buses. This convenience was priceless. My first impression was that it had a boutique feel because it was clean and pleasant but extremely small especially for a couple. The staff was top notch and deserve great praise for doing their jobs well. My only issue is that the rooms are tiny and the towels need to be updated. Even with those minor shortcoming I'm confident that I will stay their again in the future.
Clean and convenient, friendly and helpful staff”
The staff at the front desk is very friendly and helpful during the check-in. A thumbs up for her. The room is beyond my expectation. I thought the room is poor when I read the review from the website. But I was wrong, the room is spacious then I expected (compare to other hotel in London) and it is very clean. Food and convenient stores (i.e. Tesco express, Boots, and M&S Food Hall) are nearby. If you like coffee, there are Starbucks and Pret nearby as well. Underground Tube and Overground trains are within walking distance. Highly recommend for those who travel to London. Once again, thanks to staff who serve me during me check-in.
Good hotel and maybe the best you can get for your money”
It was our second stay at this hotel. The price is really low for a London hotel of that standard. Very convenient to go there, if you arrive at Heathrow with the Heathrow Express to Paddington and also very good connection with the Bakerloo Line to Londons Central. This time we were a bit surprised about the size of our Executive room, which was much smaller than mentioned at AGODA. The very nice receptionist told us, that the only difference between Standard and Executive rooms is the bed and the room size is totally different. Agoda should change that information! Nevertheless we were offered complimentary breakfast for our stay. I really have to say, that this girl at the reception is a perfect host and always absolutely friendly. She even remembered us from our last stay, which was in April 2017! The only negative thing which could not be solved to our satisfaction is, that they don't keep your luggage after check out, if you have a late outgoing flight. Not 4star
Very good for a business trip. Friendly staff, good location, well connected to anywhere in London”
I stayed for four nights in this hotel and was really pleased with it. I arrived earlier than the check in time (2:00 pm), and received a very warm welcome. I was allowed to check in before 12:00 (noon) as the room was ready. The girl at the reception provided me with all the necessary information. The room itself was cozy, clean and equipped with the amenities one would need for a comfortable stay (e.g. coffee and tea making facilities, wake up service, etc.). I was a bit concerned when I saw that the room was facing a very busy road, but it turned out that it was not at all noisy. I found the location really convenient as it was a minute walk from an overground station (Kilburn High Road) and 2-3 minutes walk from an underground station (Kilburn Park), and was really easy and quick to get anywhere in London (Oxford Circus in around 25 minutes). I was happy with the food at the restaurant and especially with the service. The staff is really friendly and always ready to help.
Modern and clean hotel in London Zone 2”
The room was clean and modern, even though I booked for room with no window I think it is still comfort and you will have a good sleep after traveling around london. The location was good, the hotel is located in Kilburn area. You can go to tourist area in central london within 30 mins via tube (Bakerloo line). Kilburn Park tube station is only 5 mins walk form the hotel. The best one is in this are you can find many of halal restaurant. Then if you look for hotel which is not really expensive, clean and not really far from central london, this hotel will suit your expectation.
Mid-range quality ”
Generally a satisfactory stay of 10nights. I chose this for the location being near to Maida Vale where I need to visit my relatives daily. The area is a little "rough", so do be cautious when you step out of the hotel. There is nothing extraordinary, and the hotel's total electrical supply tripped one day, so the lifts stopped, the taps ran cold water in winter temperature, and nobody informed the guests until we raised complaints. Don't hotels keep generators to stand by for "accidental" days like this, as the Hotel Manager described what's happening when confronted? Personally, I felt the hotel could have slipped a note under the doors to notify all guests when the power started to fail on that morning. At least we get pre-warned, before we jumped into the shower, unknowing. Communication and service quality are so-linked, I wish they had handled service better.
Small but nice hotel, very cyber”
The selling point is good quality but not expensive. I think it met the criteria. Hotels in London are damn expensive. This hotel really cheaper than many other good hotels in London but it appears very new, equipments and faciliies in good and new conditions. Very cyber design in lift and key lock. Quiet and big double bed. Even got free Wi-fi in each room so can browse internet inside own room with privacy. 1-2mins walk to Underground station is very convenient. Just 3 stations to Paddington and then you can already get the Heathrow express to airport. The only poor thing is a rather odd design of the toilet seat (?in room 410 only) because the top cover cannot be fully straighted as it is obstructed by the wooden rack at the back, so very odd for a gentleman to urinate, you may have to force yourself sitting down then.
Good value. Good location”
First time to London and was a bit worried that this particular hotel was off the beaten path. It turns out that is just on the fringe of Central London - and is very much located just in the right place. Not too busy and not to remote. Within 2-5 minute walking distance, it had bus stops and train stops (above and below ground) that can bring you to any point in London. The rooms are just about the right size for a solo traveller. Will definitely go back to this place in the future if Im a solo traveller or even with friends.
Good location, friendly staff, pillows not so good”
I have stayed numerous times at this hotel, and can state that each stay has been enjoyable. The rooms are compact, but you have to expect that in London, however, it has everything you need. The hotel is clean and well presented, and the staff are very friendly, all offer a smile as you pass them, and are approachable should you need to ask anything. My only criticism would be the pillows are not so comfortable.
This is ideal for central London. Tube station is 2mn away and Tesco and Starbucks across the road. We had a twin room with no windows but that didn't bother us as in London we were out and about and the room is to sleep in. Confortable room, if a little hot as couldn't get A/C to work but except from that a great value for money in London. Definitely recommend.
Modern rooms and great location”
I’ve stayed here twice- the first time the room was nice and modern but quite small with a small bathroom. The most recent time I stayed here, I booked the same room (standard double) but was given a lovely spacious version with nice bathroom too. Both times I stayed I enjoyed it and the value for money is great. You get breakfast included and the location is great to access central London with nearby overground and tube stations. Starbucks and Tesco supermarket are also right on your doorstep. It’s very cheap and I will definitely stay again. Staff were also very helpful.
Good budget hotel ”
This hotel is not a 4 star where some agents advertised on their website. If you check on Best Western website, you can see they only put 3 star to this Maitrise Hotel. There were no gym or swimming pool and rooms are tiny especially double beds unless you go for the executive rooms. Receptionists were very friendly and helpful, restaurant do need more staffs during busy breakfast hours. Generally speaking this hotel is not far from the tube, and I gave them 4 star for cleanliness all round. If you are looking for luxury please opt this out,but you want VFM,I recommend you should give it a try.
The hotel quality is good yet the location is not quite strategic”
The quality of the hotel is very good. The staffs are very nice, full of smile and helpful. The room is convenient to stay, and well maintained. The internet connection is very good. The only problem I have is the location. It is quite far to the center of London so it makes me to spend much time to go to central of the city.
An excellent stay. ”
I enjoyed my two night stay at the Maitrise. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Room was comfortable. Excellent shower. Would stay here again.
Nice hotel, small room”
The hotel was good and clean, the only issue was the bedroom was very small but I guess you should expect that in London! The hotel was well priced comparatively so overall can’t complain
Please don't let other reviews put you off....”
So after reading the reviews although I had already booked I was a little bit weary of what to expect when I got there, I needn't have worried the hotel was great. What you need to consider is if your on a leisure trip how much time do you actually spend in the room? The room was quite small but more than enough space for what you need and plenty of wardrobe space so you didn't need to have stuff like lying around taking up space. The only downside to me was having to go to reception to ask for things that should have already been there I.e remote control for the tv and a plug for the bath which was difficult to try to explain what we were asking for due to the language barriers but after taking a member of the team to the room to show what we meant it was quickly resolved. Breakfast was OK a small choice of continental but more than reasonable to set you up for the start of yr day. All in all it was a pleasant stay and I would happily stay there again.
I travel to London most weeks and have stayed in many low to medium budget hotels. This is by far the best in this category that I have stayed at. Spotlessly clean, modern décor, nice bathroom and good food. Have already booked for the next few weeks!
Comfortable, Friendly hotel”
Pros - Good location, affordable, good friendly service, reported a small problem dealt with immediately, close to underground / overground, some good restaurants & shops / supermarket, good for breakfast & coffee /teas etc. Felt very safe for single female business traveller. WiFi works well. 2nd time I’ve stayed & will stay again when I need to be in London for business trips. Cons - Restaurant dinner / lunch menu uninspiring. A printing service might be useful - if available not made obvious.
Pleasantly surprised ”
Choose a cheap hotel in this area for a hospital appointment and expected a cheap and nasty experience but I was on a budget, very pleasantly surprised as the hotel was fantastic, the staff were extremely welcoming and helpful, the room was far better than expected, the food was amazing and priced well, I can find no fault with this hotel and will certainly return next time I need to stay in this area. You will not be disappointed.
Highly satisfied overall. ”
Was very surprised with the tidiness of the place and the close distance of the hotel to the major London city parks like the Hyde & the Regent's. With plenty of street parking available, you will have no problem bringing cars for weekends stays. Also you will be greeted by one of the friendliest receptionist in the UK to make you feel like right at home!
