Suprisingly strategic location, with many options of transportation!”
It's strategically close to many locations in the city if you know where you are and what tube/bus/rail to take. I'm seriously satisfied with the location. There's a supermarket across the road, restaurants nearby, shops nearby, and we have options of tube, buses, and overground. It's a great value for your money! Downside: probably the staffs. They don't help much, and many did not speak english that well.
I travel to London most weeks and have stayed in many low to medium budget hotels. This is by far the best in this category that I have stayed at. Spotlessly clean, modern décor, nice bathroom and good food. Have already booked for the next few weeks!
very accommodating staff”
i appreciate the warmth and friendliness of the staff. the hotel is surrounded with restaurant. there is even a nearby store that operates 24/7. what i love is that bus stop is just right in front of this hotel. and train is also very near. very accessible.
This is ideal for central London. Tube station is 2mn away and Tesco and Starbucks across the road. We had a twin room with no windows but that didn't bother us as in London we were out and about and the room is to sleep in. Confortable room, if a little hot as couldn't get A/C to work but except from that a great value for money in London. Definitely recommend.
Great location but rude trainee staff”
Booked for my mum for her stopover after her meeting in geneva. She chose to stay here as it is near to my sister old house and they are familiar with the area. She and my sister arrived early in london so she asked if she can check in early. My sister said the trainee staff is very rude and keep saying do you understand english, do u understand english, i guess because we are asian he thinks we cant undertand english or he is just being rude and racist because we are asian i dont know. I hope the management can train him properly and tell him we asian talk/write in more than one language. And yes most of us do understand english as english is a compulsory subject in our school system. Luckily after going for breakfast, a nice lady staff there tell my mum she can checks in right away as the room is ready. My mum said she will return again as the location is great, and the room is great too. Despite the trainee staff's attitude, she is planning to stay there again next year.
Pros 1. Near tube station (walking distance) bakerloo line zone 2 - can travel to many interesting places without changing tube line (for example, warwick avenue, oxford circus, piccadilly circus, paddington) 2. tesco express and starbucks located on the opposite site 3. bus station right in front of the hotel - can take 98 or 16 bus straight to oxford street in approx 30 minutes 4. room is warm despite cold weather outside (March 2019) - no need to use heater or air condition Cons 1. fitness charges 4.99£ per day (not free, but at least it has fitness) 2. some equipment in the room is malfunctioning (for example, airconditioning outlet fell out of its place, toilet door handle got loose and fell off) in summary, this place is good for its price.
Modern and clean hotel in London Zone 2”
The room was clean and modern, even though I booked for room with no window I think it is still comfort and you will have a good sleep after traveling around london. The location was good, the hotel is located in Kilburn area. You can go to tourist area in central london within 30 mins via tube (Bakerloo line). Kilburn Park tube station is only 5 mins walk form the hotel. The best one is in this are you can find many of halal restaurant. Then if you look for hotel which is not really expensive, clean and not really far from central london, this hotel will suit your expectation.
Clean and convenient, friendly and helpful staff”
The staff at the front desk is very friendly and helpful during the check-in. A thumbs up for her. The room is beyond my expectation. I thought the room is poor when I read the review from the website. But I was wrong, the room is spacious then I expected (compare to other hotel in London) and it is very clean. Food and convenient stores (i.e. Tesco express, Boots, and M&S Food Hall) are nearby. If you like coffee, there are Starbucks and Pret nearby as well. Underground Tube and Overground trains are within walking distance. Highly recommend for those who travel to London. Once again, thanks to staff who serve me during me check-in.
Only the location is good; opposite train station. Our room at basement, elevator is spoilt so have to carry luggage down the stairs. Tv not working as antenna no good reception.
Breakfast is ok. Room is good for a city such as London. But to get to the rooms, one has to navigate through a warren. It's confusing and not for those who are not into mazes.
A very small room which size same with storage is rented as normal room?”
I and wife, we got a room which has same size with a storage on the very top floor (forgot which level was it) which totally different from what we had booked. Staff (night shift receptionist) was not helpful at all with our concern, 3 bags in the room and we could not move at all, we even showed her the picture. Ceiling is too low as it is shared with the roof. Totally disappointed with them, till the following day we insisted to change to another room to another staff (morning shift).
friendly staff, good location, near underground”
Pros: - friendly staff - near underground (3-5 minutes) - perfect for a weekend trip - on the other street side was a tesco and a starbucks - breakfast was okay Cons: - we had a lot of hairs in our bed and the bathroom - the bathroom was not superclean, but okay - they dont have enough tables for breakfast, so if there are more than 20 Peiple you habe to wait in the lobby - staff is slow to fill up the knifes and spoons on the tables by breakfast
Most Appalling Treatment by a Manager who has no clue he runs a service busienss.”
I am writing to share a most appalling treatment I endured by the Maitrise manager Mr Rudra Banerjee. I booked the hotel for 2 nights 3-6 December via Agoda (www.agoda.com). My booking was confirmed and could not be cancelled and non refundable. This was the 4th time for me staying at the Maitrise and I paid the same price per night in all my other bookings. On arrival at the hotel, the manager, Mr Banerjee, informed that he had cancelled my reservation because the rate I paid Agoda was too low. He offered me to pay 50% more and book directly with the hotel which is tatntamount to blackmail. I tried to explain that Agoda was NOT my agent but rather the hotel's agent (as the hotel gives Agoda permission to advertise their rate and confirm such rate). This was to no avail. I had to call Agoda (40 minutes). Agoda then spoke to the Mr Banerjee (50 minutes). My room was then confirmed and I wasted 2 hours of my time. Did I get an apology from Mr Banerjee, NO. Not a sussage!
Good value. Good location”
First time to London and was a bit worried that this particular hotel was off the beaten path. It turns out that is just on the fringe of Central London - and is very much located just in the right place. Not too busy and not to remote. Within 2-5 minute walking distance, it had bus stops and train stops (above and below ground) that can bring you to any point in London. The rooms are just about the right size for a solo traveller. Will definitely go back to this place in the future if Im a solo traveller or even with friends.
Modern rooms and great location”
I’ve stayed here twice- the first time the room was nice and modern but quite small with a small bathroom. The most recent time I stayed here, I booked the same room (standard double) but was given a lovely spacious version with nice bathroom too. Both times I stayed I enjoyed it and the value for money is great. You get breakfast included and the location is great to access central London with nearby overground and tube stations. Starbucks and Tesco supermarket are also right on your doorstep. It’s very cheap and I will definitely stay again. Staff were also very helpful.
I stayed a week via a Agoda Secret Deal, so it was very good value. I loved that the rooms were quite large, and that wifi was provided. However, the room I got (408) was off in a tiny corner accessible via stairs, so its not ideal if you have heavy luggage. Also, its so far away that it hardly got any of the wifi signal. The staff also never seem to answer the phones, so good luck trying to get someone to help you. If you get this via any sort of discount - do check about breakfast - all of the listings at the time of my booking included breakfast, but apparently this doesn't extend to the Secret Deal agreement, sadly.
Good quality hotel with convenient location”
The hotel was ideally located near to the Underground Station [Kilburn - Bakerloo Line] so easy to gain access to the centre of London. Some good shops and restaurants / pubs close by. A good standard of cleanliness in the hotel, though the rooms were a bit tight, but adequate for a few nights stay. Would definitely use the hotel again.
A disappointing end...”
My husband left an item of French Connection clothing in the room, under the duvet. Several calls to the hotel's receptionists over several days lead to one dead end after another. Either housekeeping kept the item, discarded it, or it was bundled up with the sheets and lost in the hotel's outsourced laundry system. If they had returned the item we would have stayed at the hotel on future visits to London. Now we cannot trust them.
First hotel I've walked out on ”
Walked in and it smelt terrible! long. Long line to even get our room key staff seemed clueless. Wasn't putting my parter through it and have effectively thrown away my money, and booked another hotel just to escape.
The quality worthes the price, definitely will consider to book again. ”
Wi-Fi , clear room & toilet , good location near the metro and nice reception service. Though the facility in the bathroom broke a little, doesn't mattered for a qualified living standard. It's convenient that Tesco express is in front of the hotel ! Well recommend.
