Understated Luxury Hotel”
This hotel is perfectly located just off the main roads of sukhumvit and soi 4 so that it is quiet but convenient. The staff were polite and helpful without being intrusive. The rooms seem to vary. I am thinking that this because the hotel is undergoing renovation. There was a sign next to the elevators saying that it was to be rebranded as Doubletree by Hilton Ploenchit.
Formerly Majestic Grande now Double Tree by Hilton. Having stayed many times over the past 15 years this has always been my preferred choice when in Bangkok. Redevelopment has been going on for ages and is not yet finished but Hilton have succeeded in improving what was already a very good hotel. Breakfast room has been moved from floor 7 to the ground floor and improvements have been made to the range of breakfast offering. New and improved lifts have been fitted and when the rooms have been refurbished to the same standard as the lobby area this will I am certain be upgraded to 5 star from the existing 4 star. There were 1 or 2 minor niggles caused by the changeover but am certain that these will be ironed out swiftly. Will most definitely return unless the pricing structure changes drastically. A really good value hotel with amazing staff throughout.
Dear Andrew, Thank you so much for your positive review of your recent stay at our hotel. I am glad to hear that you had a great experience and that you appreciate the investment in the design and refurbishment. We will continue to improve both products and service to make sure to deliver an exceptional experience to every Guest. We look forward to welcome you again whenever your travel plans bring you to Bangkok. Sincerely yours, Jean-Philippe De Haes General Manager
Very nice hotel with a great staff. But have to hassle and dispute a final charge they made after I have left. The hotel changed owners and name the 2nd. day I was there. DoubleTree Hilton Bangkok is the new name. My room was paid for in advance ( had no WiFi ) and after I was out of Bangkok charged my credit card for $64.87 USD ??? No reason given or information why they upcharged my credit card,
Dear David, Warm greetings from the DoubleTree by Hilton Bangkok Ploenchit! Thank you for your comment and we are sorry to hear that you had an unpleasant experience while staying with us. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you may have encountered and please note that we had corrected this billing issue. Sincerely yours, Jean-Philippe De Haes General Manager
I have stayed at The Majestic Grande Hotel at least 4 times since it opend. It is an excellent well-located hotel just off Sukhumvit and a short walk to the Ploenchit BTS station. Very nice, well-maintained rooms; friendly staff; very good breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets; excellent lounge with a happy hour. Simply put, you cannot get a better hotel value for your money in Bangkok.
Just a two night stay this time on our way to Pattaya but we would not go to Thailand without a stay at what is now the Double Tree by Hilton, used to be the Majestic Grand Hotel. The old name suited it much better as the style is more traditional Thai than modern boutique hotel which we fear it may be now become. Only the new restaurant and bar on the ground floor has been finished but we understand some of the rooms have been re-modelled. We had an original room which we like. Didn;t get to see a new room but maybe next time. This is still an excellent hotel, its size is just right to maintain that personal touch, location excellent for Bangkok & the airport. It has an individual style for those who like something not of the modern hotel type. We will return to see if it remains a little special.
Dear Brian, Thank you so much for your great feedback. We are delighted to know that you were happy with the hotel and service. It was our pleasure to be at your service. We hope to have the pleasure to see you again soon. Sincerely yours, Jean-Philippe De Haes General Manager
Very good value hotel in good location”
I have stayed at the Majestic Grande on a number of occasions. I have also stayed in many other Bangkok hotels. There are some superb hotels in Bangkok. However, at the $80-$100 range it can be "hit and miss". The Majestic Grande is very good value in this price range. The hotel is not too large, so it always seems relatively quiet. Some of the big hotels seem like busy train stations these days! The breakfast is excellent, and the rooms are very comfortable, modern, and efficient. The hotel is just off the main Sukhumvit shopping strip, and only a 5 minute walk from Ploenchit station.
I regularly stay here and am never disappointed. In my opinion, in this price range, it is the best choice. The location is great and is reachable from the airport in 40 minutes or so via rail link and BTS (change at Phaya Thai and take Sukhumvit line to Ploenchit. Facilities and rooms are great and there is a spa which can be used to freshen up if you have checked out and you have a later flight
Standout hotel in the middle of Sukhumvit”
This was my 5th time staying in Sukhumvit in 3 years (with my wife). Most bangkok hotels in this price range have hint of seediness however this hotel was surprisingly classy. The staff were very attentive and professional. The room was very modern, excellent Cable TV, excellent minibar and full room service. My Only complaint is that the pool area has been designed for aesthetics rather than functionality and relaxation. The pool is located such that it get only minimal sun (at least while we were there) and is directly next to those eating breakfast in the restaurant. I would defiantly stay again if the price is the same.
one of the best things about staying at the majestic grande is the location. it is not too far away from the bts on sukhumvit road (ploenchit station) which of course connects you to all of bangkok. also the breakfast is nice at the hotel.
My Bangkok Office”
I have based myself at this hotel for 4 years now whilst doing work in Bangkok, it is close to transport and the rooms and breakfasts are 1st class. Due to building upgrade it is hard to park and it is along way from road to lifts to room. This hotel will become a Double Tree by Hilton later this year, so it must show how they operate. You are always met with a smiling face and the guys that meet you go out of there way to assist in every way.
This is my second stay at Majestic Grande and I will recommend it especially to first time travelers to HCM. The location is great, less than 10 min walk to Nana Sky Train Station and under 15 min walk to Ploenchit, from which you can connect at Siam and head to the Airport for about 35 Bhat. Now back to the hotel location is ideal, in the middle of entertainment and night life of Shukumvit Avenue. Quite a few bars, food places and 7/11 for cheap beers within 5 min walk from the hotel. The breakfast is first class and very good, great selection of dishes, nice way to start the day! My room was clean and luxurious at $54 per night, super deal for the value. Will go there again!
Four Star Hotel with Five Star Service”
We stayed at the Majestic Grand for a full week to explore Bangkok at the start of our five-week Thailand tour, and were impressed from day one. We returned to the Majestic Grand for our last night in Thailand before flying home. We were stunned when staff members actually greeted us by name as they assisted us out of our Taxi. This four star hotel gives five star service and amenities. Kindly note: - Our room was modern, attractive, spacious, well maintained as well as clean and comfortable with excellent central air conditioning. - Great buffet breakfast with a wonderful selection of American and Thai foods that were fresh and flavorful. They know how to make crispy bacon here as well as excellent omelets. The carrot cake had an amazing texture and taste. Attentive staff always welcomed us with warm greetings and big smiles. - The front-end staff were exceptional; professional in their duties, polite and eager to please. - An excellent location. Just a short walk to the Nana Sky Train Station and easy to use public transportation systems. Lots of entertainment and restaurants in the area, yet our room was always quiet. - This is the only hotel ever that graciously gifted us with a delicious bowl of exotic fresh fruit for our room. We encourage you to stay at the Majestic Grande Hotel the next time you visit Bangkok to experience their superior hospitality.
One of my favorite hotels”
The MG is an oasis in the middle of the Nana chaos. Service is excellent, front desk is efficient and the bellmen are on task! Rooms are spacious with adequate amenities. I have to say that I have stayed at many hotels on Sukhumvit and by far, the breakfast buffet is one of the best. Great selection and great service. Make sure you include the breakfast in your room reservation. A little walk to the main road and BTS. But hey, it’s bangkok and everyone walks. A stones throw from th famous Nana district. Put this hotel on one of your have to try list.
This hotel has an excellent location just off of Sukhumvit Road and is within a short walk to the Ploenchit BTS station and minutes from the main shopping area and malls. I have been staying at this hotel several times a year since its opening about 4 years ago and am always very satisfied. You cannot get a better value for your money.
Great hotel, great service and great location”
I have stayed all over Bangkok, and this is probably my favorite hotel of them all. They have unbelievable service, a great location and the prices are reasonable. I have stayed in 250 baht fan rooms and I've stayed at the Mandarin Oriental. I would put the quality of this hotel up there with the Oriental, but for 1/3 of the price. Also, you are walking distance to the BTS, Sukhumvit and soi 4(Nana). I would highly reccomend this hotel to anyone.
High standard hotel with great service”
Majestic Grande was the first stop out of four on our Thailand trip. It was definitely the nicest place we stayed at in Thailand by far. The breakfast is amazing!! We had lots of cocktails, they were good, a bit more expensive than in a lot of other places. We stayed in a deluxe room (i think) and most of those rooms doesn't have a balcony so if you request a smoking room it's gonna be smelling like smoke, a lot of smoke. (I was the only non-smoker in our group). It's walking distance to most places in Sukhumvit and easy to get skytrain to MBK, SIam and other attractions. I will definitely stay here again next time I'm in Bangkok.
We needed to stay somewhere close to the British Embassy and Her Majesty's Passport Office in the Trendy Office Building, Sumkumvit and this hotel was just what we needed, where we needed it. Staff were expentional, especially the Dine7 Restaurant Manager. Obviously all staff have been trained very well. Our room was big, comfortable, clean and had all the modern needs for an overnight stay, large tv with satelite channels, desk, air con, big bed, soft chairs, tea/coffee making facilities, mini bar and the bathroom had big fluffy towels, toiletries, bath and a very good shower with hot water. The room had a tiled floor with a lovely fluffy rug under the bed and surrounds. On arrival we were presented with a lobby food discount voucher, 2 free drinks vouchers and a basket of lovely fruit,I really enjoyed the Rose apple! The pool is on the 7th floor, very quiet and this is the only thing we could pick fault with, some of the tiles had come off the surrounds and the pool probably needs emptying and some renovations made. Apart from that we would not hesitate to recommend this hotel, we had the buffet dinner and wow, such amazing choices, steak, kebabs, prawns, dim sum, salad, appetisers, soup to name just a few, followed by gorgeous fresh fruit options, ice cream and wonderful cakes and warm crepes with honey and a glass of wine or soft drink followed by tea or coffee all inclusive. The buffet breakfast in the morning was also fab, with fantastic East and west choices, bacon, sausage, beans, hash browns and then another big station making any type of eggs you wanted, there were cold cheese and meat selections, salad, cereals and much more, certainly nothing that anyone could complain about. We will stay in this hotel if we are again in Bangkok without a doubt, great value for money.
Great Hotel and Staff”
My stay at the Majestic Grande was very comfortable in all respects. I chose this hotel purely by looking at a map and the general population of hotels. I knew nothing about Bangkok and this one seemed to be in a central and busy location whilst providing very comfortable surroundings at a sensible price. I would rate this hotel at about 4.5 stars. The Majestic Grande is almost equidistant between two BTS skytrain stations Nana and Phloen Chit about 8 to 10 minutes walk to both. I even used the train system to travel from the airport to the hotel for less than 2 UK pounds. Taxis seem to be continuously available and the central nightlife area is only 250 metres from the hotel. If you wish to escape this busy area get on the skytrain system and go!!! I would stay at this hotel again without doubt. Great quality, great price, great staff and great location. Robert Dales Southampton UK
Loved it, totally”
i stayed here with my wife for 3 nights in the first week of august and a had a very good stay. the hotel is very well maintained, clean and beautiful. the staff is very courteous and make you feel at home. they’ll always help and will be unobtrusive. the breakfast was a very neat spread of various dishes, although can be a let down for vegetarians. but that’s the case for all hotels in bangkok and this one is not an exception. but the staff and their polite demeanor make up very well for it. the hotel is very near to the phloen chit station of the sky train and is therefore a good bet for anyone wanting to go to the busy shopping areas of bangkok. siam square (the busiest shopping street) is just two stops away. rooms – cosy, spacious and with a very well-stocked bar. tv, dvd player, mp3 player are all there in the room and the internet is free and fast! super! that for me was a deal sealer. greats stay, we’ll be back!
Great location, superb value”
i booked 7 rooms for 2 nights for a group of my colleagues on an overseas trip to bangkok. majestic grande is a great 4 star hotel in the heart of the sukhumvit district. very close to major attractions in bangkok (mbk, paragon, chinatown, pratunam, etc) and yet value for money. the staff service was excellent and room amenities were fit for a 5 star hotel. the food wasn't the best, but we rarely ate at the hotel anyway, and preferred to travel out for authentic thai food. highly recommended hotel!
